I am writing to respectfully request goodwill assistance regarding a significant sunroof failure on my 2021 Jeep Renegade 80th Anniversary Edition (VIN: [XXX]). I purchased this vehicle as a Certified Pre-Owned Jeep from Ferman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Wesley Chapel on XXX. At the time of purchase, the vehicle had only 6,084 miles. It currently has approximately 17,000 miles, meaning it has been driven only about 11,000 miles since I purchased it. Because I live in Orlando, more than 100 miles from the selling dealership, I relied heavily on the information they provided before making the trip. My salesperson, Jason Speed, supplied numerous photographs and even recorded a video demonstrating that the sunroof was operating properly before my purchase. Based on that information, I rented a vehicle and traveled to the dealership to complete the purchase. The Renegade is not my primary daily driver. I also own a 2015 Kia Forte, which I use for most of my commuting. I primarily purchased the Jeep because it is much easier for my grandmother to enter and exit, and I frequently use it to transport her. As a result, the vehicle has accumulated relatively low mileage and has been carefully maintained. Recently, the panoramic sunroof unexpectedly became stuck in the open position and would not close. Before bringing the vehicle to a Jeep dealership, I sought assistance from an independent automotive glass specialist, Advanced Auto Glass/Seek & Seal in Winter Park, Florida. After inspecting the vehicle, they advised that they were unable to repair or even close the sunroof and recommended that I have it diagnosed by a Jeep dealership. The vehicle is currently being diagnosed at Central Florida Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. I have already been informed that I will be responsible for at least a $150 diagnostic fee and that my warranty does not cover the sunroof repair. I am awaiting the dealership's complete diagnosis and repair estimate. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)

The infotainment/radio system in this 2021 Jeep Renegade has been malfunctioning for nearly two years. The dealership repeatedly states that no replacement parts are available and no repair can currently be performed. The system intermittently fails, freezes, reboots, or goes blank. When this occurs, the rear backup camera becomes unavailable or nonfunctional, creating a significant safety concern while reversing. The failure also makes it impossible to use the vehicle’s navigation system and disrupts the vehicle’s communication features, including hands-free cellular/Bluetooth functions. This ongoing unresolved recall affects safe operation of the vehicle, driver visibility while backing up, and the usability and value of the vehicle. Despite repeated attempts to obtain repair service, the manufacturer/dealership has not provided a remedy due to lack of available parts for over two years.

The infotainment system in my 2021 Jeep Renegade has failed and was diagnosed by an authorized Jeep dealership as an infotainment (info center) failure. The display frequently blacks out, shows lines, and becomes distorted, preventing access to essential vehicle controls including navigation, climate control, and radio functions. More critically, the backup camera randomly activates while the vehicle is in drive, causing the screen to unexpectedly switch from the normal driving display to the rear‑view camera. This occurs while driving forward and creates driver distraction and confusion. To correct the issue, I must pull over, turn the vehicle off completely, and restart it. Additionally, when the backup camera does appear, the distance guidance is unreliable and does not consistently display accurate spacing, increasing the risk of collision. This defect interferes with driver visibility, situational awareness, and safe operation of the vehicle. The malfunction occurs unpredictably and represents a serious safety concern. The manufacturer has been unable to repair the issue due to unavailable parts, and multiple vehicles are reportedly affected.

I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my 2021 Jeep Renegade. In cold weather, the driver’s door will not latch shut and can open by itself while driving. The door may appear closed but fails to remain secured, creating a significant safety risk. An authorized Jeep dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed moisture intrusion affecting the latch and release cable. They recommended replacement with updated components. This failure aligns with Stellantis Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 75567, which addresses latch issues. I have opened a case with Stellantis (case #95335285) and have repeatedly sought resolution. However, I have been unable to obtain help or speak with a case manager, leaving the issue unresolved. No repair has been performed yet. Since a door that does not remain closed is a serious safety risk, I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in reviewing this safety concern. Thank you for your attention.

I drive the 2021 Jeep Renegade SUV and out of the blue my touchscreen just went out. The radio still works but the screen stopped working for no reason. This is huge outage endangers the public when backing up because I can't see anything on the screen when reversing. That's where the backup camera shows people or objects that might be behind my vehicle. I can't control features like the AC, Heat, GPS and other features associated with the touchscreen. This is dangerous outage that should be recalled and fixed by the manufacturer.

I’m reporting Suspicious activity: Inaccurate Vehicle Service Records Reported by Flagship Chrysler Bayamón. Every time my Jeep Renegade, VIN [XXX] , has been serviced by Flagship Chrysler Bayamón—four times in total—the information reported to Carfax has been inaccurate : 1. 12/02/2023 - 12/05/2023: Right front seat buckle replaced under warranty. Invoice [XXX].  Per carfax report dated 07/02/2025 vehicle serviced “tire condition and pressure checked”. 2. 12/21/2024: Oil and filter changed, maintenance inspection performed, and motor care product applied. Invoice [XXX]. Per carfax report dated 07/02/2025 vehicle serviced “Oil and filter changed” and “tire condition and pressure checked”. 3. 06/30/2025: Oil and filter changed, maintenance inspection performed. RO number [XXX]. Per carfax report dated 07/02/2025 vehicle serviced “Oil and filter changed” and “tire condition and pressure checked”. 4. 07/01/2025: Safety recall; seat belt buckle switch connector repaired. Not available in carfax report dated 07/02/2025.   This ongoing lack of accuracy and transparency is not only suspicious, but it also directly impacts my vehicle’s value and reliability. As the owner, I have always gone above and beyond to keep my Jeep properly maintained, and I expect that commitment to be reflected in official service records. Sunroof got stuck open and when inspected at a body shop it was found to have several broken parts inside the mechanism. Sunroof was rarely used and was not handled roughly ever. No warning was given that the sunroof was broken or needing attention until it completely malfunctioned. It is apparent this has been an expensive and recurring problem with Jeep Renegades for others as well.

Uconnect system/radio screen visually not working appropriately. Gets glitchy lines and will go black. Flip upside down. And blurr together. Screen will respond to touch even when not visually able to see anything. This will happen at random even when using back up cameras which is dangerous will go completely black when trying to use screen in any way. No damage to screen. Car is 2021 should not be having issues with screen already this is a safety hazard especially because using backup camera screen goes completely black.

The screen for the control panel is going out. I have researched online and at least 100 other people are having the same issue. This screen plays a big part in the safety features available on the vehicle. I believe that Jeep should look further into this issue. If it were one or two vehicles, yes, that's isolated. The fact remains s that is an issue that begins at the factory.

Vehicle stalls at random times. Dealership service center unable to duplicate problem. Vehicle was first brought in for repairs before 2 years or 24,000 miles but computer wasn’t giving a code. Took vehicle for repairs on February 28 and picked it up on March 2. I received a phone call prior to picking up my vehicle from the service advisor. He informed me that now Chrysler is aware of this issue and is trying to come up with a solution to repair it. I called the owner of the dealership and asked if he could get me a replacement vehicle and he said he has nothing to do with the lemon law. It’s between Chrysler and myself. I am being forced to drive an unsafe vehicle that just stalls at random times. The owner said that my vehicle is the only vehicle sold from his dealership that has this issue but there are other Jeep/Chryslers sold from different dealerships that have this issue. From the first time I reported this problem, I don’t think anyone believed me because they were never able to duplicate the stalling. I work as a part time courier and am afraid to drive my vehicle. I can’t wait until they find a solution. I’ve already had a few close calls with almost being rear ended. This issue started in June of 2022.

When vehicle is in Auto Drive it stalls. When foot is taken of the brake pedal, vehicle does not automatically start. All lights and accessories are on and work but vehicle will not start. It takes several attempts to start vehicle. This happens when stopped at a light, a stop sign, sitting in traffic and most recently backing up. Dealer service center unable to find problem. This started after driving the vehicle for 11 months. Most recently it stalled four times in 24 hours.

On Saturday, April 30th our brand new 2021 Jeep Renegade's front passenger window spontaneously exploded. The window inexplicably exploded before we even made our first car payment and we have captured the event on our garage's Wyze camera. Luckily no one was injured but an event like this could have killed someone. Jim Marsh Dealership claimed to have never seen this before, despite there being numerous claims online of consumers reporting exploding windows and sunroofs. We are still getting the run around from Jim Marsh Jeep and Jeep Wave. Both parties have been far more concerned with who has to pay the towing charge rather than show any concern or regard for our safety or the safety of other consumers. There either needs to be a warning label on all tempered glass windows, some sort of protective film needs to be placed over all tempered glass windows, or every consumer should have to sign a waiver stating that they are aware that their tempered glass windows/sunroofs may spontaneously explode.

ON SUNDAY 1/17/21, MY DAUGHTER'S HUSBAND LEASED A CAR FROM THE DEALER LISTED ABOVE. HE LEASED A 2021 FULLY LOADED JEEP RENEGADE AFTER ONLY TWO DAYS OF HAVING THE CAR, WE GOT THE WARNING ON THE DASH THAT SAID "STEREO SYSTEM UNAVAILABLE". THIS MALFUNCTION CAUSED ALL SAFETY FEATURES TO TURN OFF AS WELL AS THE SPECIAL KENWOOD SOUND SYSTEM THAT WE PAID EXTRA FOR AS A PART OF THE LUXURY GROUP ADD ON. MY HUSBAND LOOKED INTO THE ISSUE HIMSELF AND IT STATED THAT IT HAD BEEN GOING ON IN THIS CAR SINCE THE 2018 MODEL. THE NEXT TIME HE GOT INTO THE CAR, IT WORKED PERFECTLY FINE. SINCE THEN IT HAS HAPPENED ON AND OFF DAILY. FINALLY AFTER A WEEK OF OWNING THE CAR WE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT BUT DUE TO THE WEEKEND, MONDAY MORNING WE CALL THE DEALER AND GET AN APPOINTMENT FOR TUESDAY MORNING. TUESDAY MORNING WE DRIVE IN AND LEAVE THE CAR THERE. THEY CALL BACK IN THE AFTERNOON AND TELL US THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE CAR AND THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM- LATER IN THE EVENING WE GET A CALL TO COME AND GET THE CAR, WE STATED WE DID NOT WANT TO PICK UP THE CAR BECAUSE IT HAPPENS EVERY MORNING AND TO KEEP THE CAR OVERNIGHT AND TRY AGAIN TOMORROW MORNING (WEDNESDAY). WE GET A CALL FROM CORPORATE THAT THEY ARE OPENING A CASE AND THEY WOULD ALSO CALL US BACK ON WEDNESDAY. WEDNESDAY WE DO NOT GET A CALL FROM THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT. WE GET A CALL FROM THE CASE MANAGER EXPLAINING THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH ALL JEEP RENEGADES MY QUESTION IS WHY DO I NEED TO PAY FOR WHEN JEEP SHOULD NOT BE SELLING THESE VEHICLES! THE SAFETY FEATURES ARE DISABLED BECAUSE OF THIS MALFUNCTION. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND UNPROFESSIONAL FOR A COMPANY OF THEIR CALIBER NOT ONLY FOR OUR FAMILY BUT ALSO FOR EVERYONE BUYING THESE VEHICLES. THERE IS CASE SIMILAR TO THIS SINCE 2017 AND NOTHING IS DONE ABOUT IT
