2024 Jeep Wagoneer at 52,000 miles Harker Heights, TX

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH on the interstate, the vehicle stalled. While the contact’s husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shut down, and the driver was able to coast off the roadway. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The check engine warning light turned on and off. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the failure was caused by the auxiliary battery. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The dealer stated that the failure was caused by the heat. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.

2023 Jeep Wagoneer Killen, AL

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Pulling from a stop sign across two lanes of traffic into a median, the car shut off and then started back. When it started back there were multiple warning lights. Pulled out onto highway and when coming to the next turn, there were no power brakes. Had to use extreme pressure to slow the vehicle down to a stop. Turned the car off and then back on and most lights went off.

2022 Jeep Wagoneer Weeki Wachee, FL

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Liftgate Latch Assembly Failure: The vehicle experienced an internal electrical short circuit and hardware failure within the power liftgate latch assembly. This defective latch caused a severe parasitic 12V battery drain that repeatedly rendered the vehicle completely dead, leaving it unexpectedly stranded. The hardware failure also triggered a software error loop that locked the power liftgate into an inoperable mode (3-beep lockout). Replacing the liftgate latch assembly successfully resolved the liftgate operation and eliminated the parasitic drain. Uconnect 5 Software Defects: Independent of the physical liftgate issue, the Uconnect 5 infotainment system (currently running software build U29.42, referencing TSB 08-230-24) exhibits significant software bugs and display stability issues. The primary central screen frequently flickers, displays line artifacts, freezes, and repeatedly drops wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity. Additionally, when shifting the vehicle into reverse, the rear backup camera feed fails to load, displaying only a blank black screen instead of the camera view. This disables primary vehicle setting controls, navigation interfaces, and rearward safety visibility while operating the vehicle.

2023 Jeep Wagoneer Prospect Park, PA

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Problem occurs randomly and have not been able to consistently repeat results. Vehicle stops and shuts off and puts itself into park. Restart vehicle and it drives normally. It did this once pulling out of a parking lot into traffic, oncoming traffic was able to stop to avoid us. We brought it to the dealership to be looked at and they found nothing wrong. They did say codes were in the computer but since they weren’t active they couldn’t do anything about it. No lights stay on after the car is restarted. It has done this multiple times.

2022 Jeep Wagoneer Neosho, MO

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

I own a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer with the 5.7L HEMI eTorque system. The vehicle has lost all power while being driven on two separate occasions. The first occurred on October 22, 2025, on a major interstate. The second occurred on January 30, 2026, on a state highway. In both cases the engine shut off without warning while the vehicle was in motion, with my wife and four children aboard. Power steering and braking assist were lost. The vehicle locked into Park, and I could not get power to shift into neutral or restart it. The January 30 incident required towing. The vehicle was inspected by a mechanic, who was unable to replicate the problem. Since the second failure, I have observed that system voltage drops rapidly during normal driving on nearly every trip. To avoid another shutdown in traffic, I now monitor voltage and pull over to shut the engine off and restart it once it reaches 12.4V. This takes several efforts each trip to pull over and restart the system. It has produced anxiety in my family about the safety of this vehicle. This is a full-size SUV losing power in highway traffic without warning. It endangers my family and every driver around us. I am aware of ODI Preliminary Evaluation PE24018 covering this vehicle and system, and I am submitting this so my incidents are part of that record.

2023 Jeep Wagoneer at 39,000 miles Medina, MN

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated that the vehicle intermittently went into park(P) and turned off while merging into traffic with the message "Stop/Start Required" displayed. The vehicle also shut off unexpectedly while idling in park(P). The contact was forced to restart the vehicle to resume normal operation. The vehicle was initially taken to a dealer, and the failure was attributed to the gasoline in the fuel tank; however, the failure returned the following day. The same dealer later diagnosed the vehicle with a defective auxiliary battery inside the alternator. The dealer refused to honor the warranty, prompting the contact to seek repairs from an independent mechanic. The part to repair the vehicle was currently on a national backorder, and there was no estimated date for the parts to become available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but only directed the contact to a parts website; however, the necessary part could not be located. The vehicle remained unrepaired with the independent mechanic. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.

2022 Jeep Wagoneer Bidwell, OH

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

While driving down the road, I came to a stop and the vehicle started flashing every light then would not restart or allow the vehicle to be put into neutral. Initially thought maybe a battery issue despite my new battery being only eight months old replaced the battery and all the electronics started going haywire requiring the vehicle to be towed.

2023 Jeep Wagoneer Round Rock, TX

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Car will shudder and shut off while slowing down. The control panel will change to saying "Push start button to run." This has happened 50+ times, including while in slower traffic on the Interstate. It is very dangerous because I am stopped suddenly in traffic and have to restart the car and put it back in gear in order to move. Car has also started and run, but the control panel remains in the "push button to start" mode while driving, so none of the control panel is available. This is dangerous because I have no idea what my speed is.

2022 Jeep Wagoneer Libertyville, IL

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

While driving my 2022 Jeep Wagoneer at 40-45 mph on a live public road with my four small children in the vehicle, the vehicle suffered a sudden, catastrophic electronic and powertrain shutdown without warning. The engine completely died, and the vehicle immediately and forcefully engaged the electronic emergency parking brake, bringing the vehicle to an abrupt, unexpected halt in the middle of moving traffic.Once stopped, the vehicle completely refused to crank or restart. The electronic shifter and braking system effectively locked the vehicle in place, leaving me and my four young children dangerously stranded inside a dead vehicle in the middle of a live lane, creating an immediate, life-threatening collision hazard from oncoming traffic. The vehicle had to be physically towed away from the scene to a dealership, where it currently sits awaiting diagnosis. This vehicle has a documented history of prior electronic and dashboard glitches that the manufacturer has failed to permanently resolve under warranty. The sudden loss of propulsion combined with autonomous, unwanted emergency brake activation while in motion represents a severe, un-remedied safety defect that put the lives of my entire family at immediate risk.

2022 Jeep Wagoneer at 77,000 miles Pickrell, NE

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated that while a family friend was driving on the freeway at approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The Mobile repair unit was called to the scene and diagnosed the vehicle with fuel pump failure. The contact was informed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was towed to a nearby parking lot. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure and informed the contact that the part was on back order and not currently available for purchase. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed of NHTSA Action Number: PE24018 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, HYBRID PROPULSION SYSTEM, ENGINE, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); and associated the failure with the campaign. The failure mileage was 77,000.

2025 Jeep Wagoneer Nahant, MA

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

For the past year I have been dealing with multiple vehicle failures with our 2025 Jeep Wagoneer. I have worked with my dealer a dozen times. Adnt he vehicle has been under service for roughly 13 weeks. Each time the dealership tells me the issue was a software update or they were not able to "recreate the issue". Our 2025 Wagoneer has been stalling out, shifting to park and then requiring a complete restart multiple times per week. This happens at low speed or at idle. On the afternoon of XXX, while driving the vehicle back from a different dealer for service of the same issue the vehicle stalled out completely on [XXX] just outside of [XXX]. Please see attached video. It is more than apparent that this vehicle is faulty and putting me and anyone else in my family that night drive this vehicle at risk. Over the past 7 months I have documented all issues and the dismissiveness of Herb Chambers Jeep Chrysler in Danvers, MA where we purchased/leased the vehicle from. Herb Chambers is stating I have to pay nearly $3000 dollars to exit our current lease. But, this is ridiculous as the vehicle is a danger to drive. Something bad will happen if our vehicle continues to be driven. And given the amount of time and energy I have wasted on trying to resolve these ongoing issues, Jeep/Stellantis, should actually pay me for the inconvenience. 2024 Jeep Wagoneer Mchenry, IL Crash

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system falsely engages under normal driving conditions when no obstacles, vehicles, or other hazards are present. These false activations occurred at very low speeds, while stopped, while parking, and while the vehicle is in neutral. When this happens, the vehicle brakes abruptly, shifts itself into park, and shuts off entirely. This is not normal system operation and creates a significant safety concern because the vehicle has stopped abruptly and disabled itself unexpectedly on numerous occasions while moving. While my vehicle was in neutral and moving through an automatic car wash on a track, the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system malfunctioned. My vehicle shifted itself into park and shut down. This sudden engagement caused the vehicle behind me to collide with the rear of my vehicle. As a result, the driver of the following vehicle has filed a collision claim against my insurance policy. My vehicle has been taken to the dealership 6 times for this AEB-related issue, along with other ongoing concerns, on the following dates: 09/11/25, 10/07/25, 11/12/25, 01/19/26, 03/09/26, and as of 6/05/26 is back at the dealership. The vehicle will unexpectedly shift out of gear at low speeds, requiring me to stop and place it back into gear before I can continue driving. The vehicle is currently at the dealership as of 06/05/26. Despite several repair attempts, the problems have not been resolved. I am extremely concerned that the AEB system will continue to malfunction causing a more serious collision and injury. The dealership was able to reproduce the problem in September; however, they have not been able to reproduce it again since that time. I have attempted to document each malfunction, including photos of the failure messages. I can provide additional information (receipts, video from accident, photos etc.).

2024 Jeep Wagoneer Lake Park, IA

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

I’ve had issues with the blind spot sensors. After driving a mile or two on open road, the warning pops up saying “Blind Spot sensors unavailable” then the lights on the mirror stay on. This was happening a few months ago so the right sensor was replaced. Now it’s happening again. In a vehicle that is two years old this shouldn’t be an issue.

2022 Jeep Wagoneer North Platte, NE

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

While driving my car engine just shuts off without any warning. My car had a message on the dash after the engine stopped saying to shift the car to park and the emergency parking brake came on. I had to switch my four ways on in the middle of the road. If this happened on a busier street my vehicle would have been hit because I could not drive my car to the side of the road. It was just a dead stop without any notice there was a problem. No dash lights before the engine stopped or anything. Just messages stating to put the car in park after the problem. I have two little girls who are regularly in my vehicle with me and it is scary to think that my Wagoneer engine can just decide to shut off at anytime with no warning.

NHTSA complaint #11745278 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2022 Jeep Wagoneer Uvalde, TX

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The vehicle experienced a charging system failure while driving. The battery warning light illuminated and battery voltage dropped to approximately 11.7 volts while the engine was running. The vehicle continued to discharge the battery while being driven, creating a risk of loss of electrical power and possible vehicle shutdown. Diagnostic trouble codes included P0562 (System Voltage Low), P0BDE (Drive Motor Inverter Temperature Sensor E Circuit High), and P0AEE (Drive Motor Inverter Temperature Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance). The charging system was inspected by an independent repair facility. The serpentine belt was verified to be functioning properly and related fuses were checked. The repair facility diagnosed a failure of the 48-volt eTorque Belt Starter Generator (Motor Generator Unit/MGU). The replacement part is reportedly on backorder. The condition is repeatable and occurs during normal driving. The battery warning lamp and low voltage condition were observed and documented. This failure creates a potential safety concern because the vehicle can lose charging capability while operating on public roads.
