Our vehicle was purchased in December of 2025. Aprox. One month after purchase the vehicle unexpectedly turns off while driving. Fails to start. Along with multiple other issues. Its has been in the shop over the course of that time more than four months and is in the shop current day 14sept2026. We have spend roughly $10,000 to date and continue to be financially and emotionally ravaged. Sealants has been no help. The purchasing dealership also refuses to make it right.

The engine cooling system failed while my husband and I were driving on the freeway at night: the thermostat stuck closed and cut off coolant flow to the engine, causing it to overheat and become unsafe to continue driving. This occurred at approximately 10:00 PM on XXX roughly two hours from home over a holiday weekend, with two occupants in the vehicle. The vehicle had to be towed, but it took nearly four hours to get a tow truck, leaving us stranded on the freeway at night; because we were stranded so far from home, my [XXX] father had to drive two hours to reach us at 10:00 PM and then drive us two hours home, arriving around 1:00 AM, which put an elderly driver on the road late at night and created further risk. There was first a low oil pressure code and the engine was revving without the gas being pressed. Then that code went away and the engine overheating code came on along with an occasional battery code. The vehicle was diagnosed and repaired by Bud's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram between XXX and XXX the dealership confirmed the stuck thermostat and coolant cut-off and replaced the thermostat. The vehicle is available for inspection on request. No manufacturer, police, or insurance inspection has taken place to date. Mileage at time of failure: approximately 78,000. VIN: [XXX]. Within less than 24 hours of picking the vehicle up from the thermostat repair on XXX6, it began shutting off on its own and losing engine RPM, including while being driven on the freeway and while stopped at a red light. It shut off completely on its own two times in the first 24 hours back in my possession, with no warning that the vehicle was about to lose power. Losing power on the freeway risks a sudden loss of motive power at highway speed and a high-speed collision, and shutting off at a red light risks being unable to move out of an intersection or accelerate away from a hazard, with a heightened risk of being struck. During these failures the vehicle displayed a battery warning code and, separately, a "service transmission" warning; both appeared and then cleared. These symptoms first appeared on XXX, within hours of the vehicle being returned from the prior repair. The failures have not yet been reproduced by a service center; the vehicle is scheduled to return to the place of purchase, Grogans Town Dodge Jeep Ram on XXX for diagnosis, and the same vehicle was in this dealership's service department of another dealership 2 hours from our home because thats where we were when the thermomstat issue occured on XXX for the separate cooling-system failure. Vehicle began to randomly shut off at low speed while moving, while stopped and also in park. Has not yet happened at high speeds. All occasions are at speeds of less than 5 mph, no MIL. Took to the dealership, diag of faulted aux battery. Battery replaced. Still very randomly will die in gear, at low to no speed, and also in park on occasion. Dealership update software of the BCM, PCM, and DCM. Returned to us with the same ongoing dying issue, returned to dealership, they did a wheel alignment, obviously didn't fix the dying issue. This vehicle carries my family, this will cause an accident as other traffic avoiding the vehicle has been the only factor in avoiding accident. No codes present. Vehicle is being refused to drive due to the uncertainty of when and where the vehicle will die randomly. This has happened numerous times over the last month, we will not accept the return of this vehicle until this problem is solved. This has so far ONLY HAPPENED AT LOW SPEED. Dealership has put many highway miles on it without replicating issue. It can be easily replicated by merely driving it from one parking spot to another or around a parking lot stopping and starting and traveling at speeds 5mph or less. This will happen at low to no throttle input. Vehicle will immediately start and run after being placed into park and hitting the start button, this is not the auto -start-stop feature working correctly. Dealership states this has only happened while pulling into a working bay at the dealership, unable to replicate results on the highway. It is currently the low speed dying that is the issue, this has been brought to the attention of the service dept on numerous occasions.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated that while driving under 5 MPH, the vehicle shut off and was rear-ended by a pickup truck. The vehicle was towed to an undisclosed location. The low battery reserve message was displayed afterwards on two occasions. The contact stated the failure was like the failure listed in NHTSA Action Number: PE24018 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, HYBRID PROPULSION SYSTEM, ENGINE, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). The Jeep manufacturer was contacted by phone on several occasions, and the contact spoke with a representative. The local dealer associated the failure with the auxiliary battery. The contact was informed that the auxiliary battery needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

I purchased my 2023 Jeep Wagoneer new in March 2023. The vehicle has experienced multiple electrical/electronic safety-related failures. Beginning around Oct. 2024, the digital instrument cluster intermittently failed to load after startup, leaving me without critical information including vehicle speed and fuel level. I photographed this occurring numerous times and repeatedly reported it to the dealer. The cluster was eventually replaced in April 2026. The vehicle has also unexpectedly shut off more than once while slowing or coming to a stop at a stop sign or traffic light. In July 2026, the entire right-front exterior lighting system failed. The right headlight, daytime/running light, front turn signal and cornering light are all inoperative while the left side operates normally. The dealer replaced the complete right headlamp assembly in Aug. 2026, but this did not correct the problem. All right-front lighting remains inoperative. The odometer is also continuously flashing. The dealer has not determined the cause and says further diagnosis and Stellantis STAR technical assistance are required. As of Sept. 2026, the lighting failure has persisted for more than a month despite a repair attempt. I am concerned about the safety risks from loss of required exterior lighting/turn-signal function, prior loss of instrument-cluster information, and unexpected vehicle shutoffs. I do not know whether these conditions share the same underlying cause.

Battery light came on and showed low voltage while driving down the highway along with a loud sound. Also the icon with a red A and a circle around it came on, the lights and icons starting signaling. The steering wheel instantly became difficult to turn and control. I started to pull off the road the best I could and the parking break engaged before I could come to a complete stop. I wasn’t even off the road before the vehicle came to a stop.

2024 Wagoneer was shifting weird, throwing itself in parking mode. Shutting off and making you stop while driving to shift in desired gear. Throwing itself in park going down the highway and about had us in a head on collision. Motor has loss of lower and overheating. Multiple misfires on multiple cylinders on all 3 occasions when returned to the dealership. Unable to fix on multiple attempts. Car is still in dealership garage awaiting to be repaired.

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH on the interstate, the vehicle stalled. While the contact’s husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shut down, and the driver was able to coast off the roadway. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The check engine warning light turned on and off. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the failure was caused by the auxiliary battery. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The dealer stated that the failure was caused by the heat. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.

Pulling from a stop sign across two lanes of traffic into a median, the car shut off and then started back. When it started back there were multiple warning lights. Pulled out onto highway and when coming to the next turn, there were no power brakes. Had to use extreme pressure to slow the vehicle down to a stop. Turned the car off and then back on and most lights went off.

My car blew an engine while I was inside the car. The car was in park and running in a parking lot when the parking brake automatically engaged unexpectedly. Then, the gauge cluster instructed me to press the brake and push the start/stop button. I then got a warning on my gauge cluster, this time notifying my car entered starter protection mode. Repeating the process three times, me, my four year-old daughter, and were put at high risk of suffering burns as my car started to give off a burning smell of oil, as well strong white smoke from the hood, and shut off the car and opened the hood to release the smoke. If I had waited longer, there would have been a fire. The car is available upon inspection and is currently at my local dealer as of 8/11/2026 (Thunder Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Bartow, Florida) for repairs. An engine failure was confirmed by discoveries by the dealer of a broken valve spring, a dropped cylinder, a cracked piston head, and an oil-coolant mixture. The dealer confirmed that this stemmed from Stellantis's faulty "Multi-Displacement System" (MDS) cylinder-deactivation system and "eTorque" mild-hybrid system. Both systems work together to save fuel at cruising speeds and stoplights. However, due to the constant cycling of both systems, they contribute to the excessive engine stress and oil pressure fluctuation, which are known for the "WS" Jeep Wagoneer, the "DT" RAM 1500, and the "WL" Grand Cherokee equipped with the 5.7L HEMI eTorque V8. The dealer relayed the issues to Stellantis North America, showing videos and photos of this catastrophic mechanical failure.

I own a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer with the 5.7L HEMI eTorque system. The vehicle has lost all power while being driven on two separate occasions. The first occurred on October 22, 2025, on a major interstate. The second occurred on January 30, 2026, on a state highway. In both cases the engine shut off without warning while the vehicle was in motion, with my wife and four children aboard. Power steering and braking assist were lost. The vehicle locked into Park, and I could not get power to shift into neutral or restart it. The January 30 incident required towing. The vehicle was inspected by a mechanic, who was unable to replicate the problem. Since the second failure, I have observed that system voltage drops rapidly during normal driving on nearly every trip. To avoid another shutdown in traffic, I now monitor voltage and pull over to shut the engine off and restart it once it reaches 12.4V. This takes several efforts each trip to pull over and restart the system. It has produced anxiety in my family about the safety of this vehicle. This is a full-size SUV losing power in highway traffic without warning. It endangers my family and every driver around us. I am aware of ODI Preliminary Evaluation PE24018 covering this vehicle and system, and I am submitting this so my incidents are part of that record.

The engine shuts off unexpectedly when the automatic start stop system engages. At the same time the engine shuts off, the power steering warning light illuminates and steering assist is lost. The vehicle must be restarted to regain power steering and continue driving. This has occurred on multiple occasions, including while the vehicle was slowing to a stop in traffic. The sudden loss of steering assist while the vehicle is in motion presents an immediate safety risk to the driver, passengers, and surrounding traffic. This appears to be a widespread issue. Other 2024 Jeep Wagoneer owners have reported the same combination of symptoms, sudden stalling paired with power steering warning lights, in complaints already on file with NHTSA. Suspected causes reported by owners and dealers include a failing 12V or auxiliary battery, a Powertrain Control Module fault, and a Power Distribution Center or wiring fault.

While driving my 2022 Jeep Wagoneer at 40-45 mph on a live public road with my four small children in the vehicle, the vehicle suffered a sudden, catastrophic electronic and powertrain shutdown without warning. The engine completely died, and the vehicle immediately and forcefully engaged the electronic emergency parking brake, bringing the vehicle to an abrupt, unexpected halt in the middle of moving traffic.Once stopped, the vehicle completely refused to crank or restart. The electronic shifter and braking system effectively locked the vehicle in place, leaving me and my four young children dangerously stranded inside a dead vehicle in the middle of a live lane, creating an immediate, life-threatening collision hazard from oncoming traffic. The vehicle had to be physically towed away from the scene to a dealership, where it currently sits awaiting diagnosis.This vehicle has a documented history of prior electronic and dashboard glitches that the manufacturer has failed to permanently resolve under warranty. The sudden loss of propulsion combined with autonomous, unwanted emergency brake activation while in motion represents a severe, un-remedied safety defect that put the lives of my entire family at immediate risk.

On at least 6-8 occasions car engine has shut off and car is automatically placed in emergency brake. This then requires you to place car in park, then restart vehicle. This happens while driving on interstate and when car slows down for traffic car engine without warning, will shut off, car will then automatically turn on emergency brake forcing sudden stop in interstate hwy traffic. Very dangerous as you have to place car in Park and restart engine. Cars behind you are now slamming on brakes to avoid rear end collision. This has also occurred while sitting at traffic light when again car engine shuts off and has to be placed in park to restart. There is no warning, no warning lights, no check engine after incident occurs and according to dealership no engine codes recorded due to incident. I have left car at dealership on several occasion for several days. I believe it was replicated at dealership but again it registers no codes in engine computer to help resolve issue. When a car traveling down the interstate suddenly shuts down it is extremely dangerous placing my car and family at risk as well as any traveling behind us. Dealership has not been able to resolve issue. They can update software and the car will go several weeks without issue then suddenly you are back to engine shut down again I am second owner of 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S II Carbine. Purchased at GMC dealership. At time of purchase dealership provided maintenance records which showed no issues of engine failure. Unfortunately Jeep is not going to document this issue and does not appear to have a solution. This is an extreme safety concern
