When owners complained

A spike years after the car went on sale usually means a part wearing out on schedule across the whole fleet — the kind of pattern no single owner can see from inside their own car.

Recalls on the 2007 Nissan Armada

A complaint is one owner's allegation. A recall is the point at which the manufacturer or a regulator agreed the defect is real and dangerous enough to fix for free — however old the car is.

NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN FRONT AND REAR LOWER LINKS, P/NOS. 54501ZQ00A, 54500ZQ00A, 551A1ZQ00A, 551A0ZQ00A , 54501EA00A, 54500EA00A, 551A1EA500, 551A0EA500, 54501ZR00A, AND 54500ZR00A, SOLD BETWEEN NOVEMBER 25, 2009 AND MAY 14, 2010 AS REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR MODEL YEAR 2004 THROUGH 2010 TITAN, ARMADA, AND QX56, AND MODEL YEARS 2005 THROUGH 2010 FRONTIER, XTERRA, AND PATHFINDER VEHICLES. THE LOWER CONTROL LINK ASSEMBLY HAS TWO CYLINDRICAL COLLARS FORMING THE INBOARD ATTACHMENT POINTS TO THE CHASSIS. DUE TO AN IMPROPER WELDING PROCESS SOME COLLARS MAY CONTAIN WELDS THAT DO NOT MEET STRENGTH SPECIFICATIONS.

Risk: IF THE COLLAR WELD SEPARATES, THE VEHICLE HANDLING WILL DETERIORATE, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:STORAGE:FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM

NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2005-2009 TITAN, ARMADA, AND INFINITI QX56 VEHICLES. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE MAY INACCURATELY DISPLAY THAT THE VEHICLE STILL HAS SOME FUEL, TYPICALLY ABOUT ONE QUARTER TANK, WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY.

Risk: THIS COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO RUN OUT OF GAS AND STALL ON THE HIGHWAY, WHICH COULD CAUSE A CRASH.

07V449000

SEAT BELTS:REAR/OTHER

CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 210, 'SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY ANCHORAGES.' THE DRIVER'S SIDE THIRD ROW SEAT BELT UPPER ANCHOR BRACKET MAY BE CRACKED.

Risk: IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, A SEAT OCCUPANT MAY NOT BE PROPERLY RESTRAINED INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.

Canada — Transport Canada

Canada runs its own recall programme, and its campaigns do not always mirror the American ones.

Recall 2023053 10,846 units in Canada

Airbag

Issue: On certain vehicles, the plastic emblem on the steering wheel airbag cover could detach and become a projectile when the airbag inflates in a crash. Note: This recall is for certain vehicles that had the steering wheel airbag replaced. Safety Risk: Projectiles in the occupant compartment could increase the risk of an injury. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the steering wheel airbag cover.

Recall 2012156 4,885 units in Canada

Label

Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 210.1 - User-ready Tether Anchorages for Restraint Systems. Specifically, the pictograms identifying the location of the tether anchors measure 15 mm in height instead of 20 mm as required by the Standard. Correction: Since this non-compliance condition does not pose any safety risk, no corrective action is required.

Recall 2010060 8,681 units in Canada

Fuel System

On certain vehicles, the material used on fuel level sending unit contacts can wear and contaminate the sender. This causes the instrument panel fuel gauge to display that the vehicle still has some fuel left in the tank when the fuel tank is empty. An inaccurate fuel gauge can lead to engine stalling while driving, which may increase the risk of a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Letters will be sent to owners in two stages. The first letter will advise owners of fuel gauge inaccuracy and recommend maintaining a fuel level above the one half position. The second letter will follow, requesting owners bring their vehicles to a dealer for replacement of the fuel sender unit.

Recalls cover specific build ranges, so check your own vehicle by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls or, in Canada, Transport Canada.

SERVICE BRAKES

I was driving in traffic and my breaks went out and I almost got in a collision. The breaks at first didn't work and then were bouncing and grinding to stop and the break warning light came on. I swerved and barely missed another car. I pulled over in a parking lot there was a burning smell and let it sit for 4hr. I took it to get the breaks fixed an they couldn't find any issues with the breaking system except for the Delta Stroke Sensor Failure. I understand this has a been an ongoing issue with cars. One situation killed 3 people and Nissan lost a $25M lawsuit on this. I can't understand why this wouldn't be on a recall as issues with the breaking system is life threatening. My car is now at Nissan getting fixed, has been there for 2 weeks, they still can't figure out the issue with the Delta Sensor breaking system. This is very serious and no matter what age of the car, should be covered under a recall. You can find hundreds of articles online to understand how many cars are affected. Please look into this and issue a recall.

AIRBAG LIGHT RANDOMLY BEGAN FLASHING. CODE PULLED AS B1035 CRASH ZONE SENSOR. THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN ANY TYPE OF ACCIDENT. UPON RESEARCHING VEHICLE AND CODE IT SHOWS THE SAME YEAR AND MAKES OF VEHICLES HAVING EXACT SYMPTOMS AS WELL AS CODE OF B1035. EVEN ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE REGARDING THIS RECALL- IT DOES SHOW A PICTURE ON THE PDF FILE OF A NISSAN ARMADA IMAGE SHOWING INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO INSTALL THE RECALLED SENSOR. THIS NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED IMMEDIATELY AND MAKE CORRECTIONS WITH ADDING THE ARMADA BEING PART OF THE RECALL. IT HAS SAME EXACT SENSOR PART AND I FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD NOT BE HELD ON THE VEHICLE OWNERS PART AS CLEARLY IT IS A DEFECTIVE PART. THERE WILL BE ADDITIONAL CALLS I WILL MAKE IF NEEDED TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE IF THIS DOES NOT GET RESOLVED IN A PROMPT MANNER AND IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS AND DOES NOT DEPLOY AIRBAGS BECAUSE OF RECALLED PART THAT WAS NOT APPROPRIATELY ADDED TO A NHSTA LIST, THERE WILL BE LEGAL ADVICE SOUGHT REGARDING LIABILITY AND INJURIES.
