The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport. The contact stated that while driving 30–40 MPH uphill, the vehicle decelerated unexpectedly, and failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle rolled backwards. The contact activated the hazard lights and repeatedly depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to stop, causing the rear of the vehicle to crash into the front of a trailing vehicle. The vehicle then completely shut off and became inoperable. No warning light was illuminated before or after the crash. No injuries were reported. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The vehicle was later towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the mass airflow sensor and speed sensor needed to be replaced, along with a system calibration. The contact requested that the dealer place the repair on hold due to the severity of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.

The transmission failed on my 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport. I was driving down the road and my car started to jerk and go faster and then slower while I was driving down the road at 55 miles per hour. I could not control the speed or the smoothness of the car operation. I had no warning light or any indication that this was about to happen. The warning light came on much later when I was at home. This is a problem that Nissan is well aware of and has done nothing to inform customers or mitigate the damage (in my case $6,599.40). There are many class-action lawsuits, but the one covering this car has already ended as on January 1, 2029. This problem tends to occur at about 80,000 miles, so I am maintaining that Nissan should reimburse me (my car had about 76,000 miles at the time). By cutting off the class-action lawsuit in 2020, no 2019 cars would have 80,000 miles on them. There is a class action lawsuit for another model that runs from 2014 to 2018, so they can honor requests on this model as well.

My 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport is affected by recall 23V-093, related to the jackknife key potentially collapsing while driving and shutting off the vehicle. The only remedy currently offered is a spacer inserted into the key fob to permanently prevent the blade from folding. This disables the folding feature — a core function of the product — and turns a jackknife key into a permanently extended blade. I consider this an unacceptable fix. It does not restore the key’s intended design or function. No alternate solution (such as a properly redesigned or replacement fob) is offered. My dealer confirmed the “repair” is only the plastic spacer. Nissan Consumer Affairs escalated my case, but the call was dropped during transfer and I could not reach a resolution. I have not experienced a shutdown incident, but I am filing this complaint because the offered recall remedy removes a core feature and does not constitute a true repair. Nissan should be required to provide a fix that both eliminates the safety risk and restores original functionality.

I am first concern with the fact that the CVT transmission is not listed under the “component” section and this concern is a major problem many Nissan drivers are seeing. I would like to additional know how this transmission malfunction is not a safety concern as it tremendously affects the speed and operation of the vehicle regardless of maintenance. I have a 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport that recently started to stall at red lights and even lose speed acceleration while in operation. Upon researching what this issue could be I discovered that most 2015-2022 model Rogue have this issue and it associate with the CVT transmission! My question and maybe great fear is why this doesn’t constitute for an immediate recall for Nissan by the NHTSA?! There are multiple reports on this issue to support our claims yet nothing. I strongly advise someone look into this matter before any loss of life happens.

Component failed: CVT Available for inspection: yes 2019 - Vehicle stopped responding when pulling out of my driveway. My car was going backwards and I had no control. I had to turn vehicle off and on again to fix this. Had inspection and diagnostics at Nissan dealership. They reprogrammed engine control. 2020 - Vehicle was at stop light and started shaking. Then it stopped moving. I had to restart it. Had inspection done at dealership. Found no issue. 2023 - notified about recall, but when contacting dealership they said there was no recall. 2025 - When driving on highway car started slowing down. Hesitates and struggles to accelerate. This was dangerous because speed limit was 65mph, but my car was struggling to go 40mph. Started making loud noise when trying to accelerate. Took to mechanic, and found out this is issue with CVT, referred to service bulletin reference number NTB18-077b. Recommended going to dealership as service bulletin has been out since 10/2019. Again received communication there is recall for my Nissan Rogue sport. Called Nissan dealership and they stated there is no recall. I have appointment diagnostic inspection scheduled for tomorrow morning

I believe my cars computer is being hacked. Some things I’ve noticed are stereo issues the volume goes up and down or the music skips intermittently. Some times the music turns off. The collision symbol prompts on the dash. Acceleration issues. Antilock breaks don’t work, sometimes. Safety features are being turned off. My maps goes offline. My update for maps in Nebraska isn’t listed but all the other states are listed. Awd button doesn’t work, sometimes. I am worried for my safety. I took it to Nissan and they updated the sonar component system. It helped some. Stereo issues are still present. Music is still turning off by itself. Volume is still going up and down and the radio not a CD is skipping intermittently. Nissan stated they have no testing to see if any malware has been installed. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs. They are chosing to do nothing at this time.

There's a delay when pressing the accelerator pedal. This happened once and I took it to the mechanic. He mentioned that the CVT transmission code came up. He did maintenance work on the car on 12/10/24. Oil was changed and everything else he said needed to be done. He also mentioned that some Nissans had that problem with the CVT transmission. It happened again yesterday. Upon looking into it online, there's a few other Nissan vehicles with this problem. This is a very dangerous situation. The first time it happened, I was with my family on the highway and I was unable to accelerate. My family got very nervous. Thankfully, I was able to pull over to the shoulder. That's when I took my car to the mechanic immediately. Yesterday I was picking up my daughter from school and the same thing happened. I had to put my emergency lights and stay in the middle of the road until the car accelerated again.

The contact stated that the vehicle was locked in an unknown gear. The contact pulled over and restart the vehicle with an unknown warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was due to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V093000 (Electrical System). The contact called an independent mechanic, who failed to determine the cause of the failure. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.

I have reported to my dealer (the Marlboro Nissan/MA on [XXX] 2024 XXXPM) the dangerous situation that keeps my Rogue (vin: XXX) at a lower gear (the car cannot go more than 20 MPH... in the highway this is very slow) after standing still in a traffic jam for a while on a hot day (specially after a traffic jam is cleared). I'm concerned this can cause an accident and Nissan is doing nothing to resolve this risky car issue. There is no indication in the dashboard and even though we have reported this problem to the dealer twice, they have done nothing. the car will not go in reverse and it does by waiting up to 20 minutes car goes in reverse but the car goes by itself while driving accelerating on its own without me pressing on the gas, I have processed the break for acceleration to stop and go the speed I wish to drive. I took it to the mechanic and was told it was the shift lock solenoid the mechanic could not fix the car the mechanic said the part is on backorder with Nissan and there is no release date for when the car car part (shift lock solenoid) will be available to repair the car. I do not feel safe driving the car

UNKNOWN I fell victim to a wiretapping incident that is still under Federal investigation that began in my vehicle on June 23rd, 2023. This concern is in regard to life safety and loss of control of the vehicle on or around the same time, due to radio transmission feedback beeping coming from the passenger side speaker, as well as what sounded like an emergency response unit radio. The noise would not stop until I pulled the plug on the battery of the car as well as the fuse panel to the head unit. While driving the vehicle in Converse TX around August 1st, 2023, I noticed the speedometer locking at a higher than average speed for the area I was in, like it would go into cruise control automatically, without my consent. I then hit the brake to slow it down, but the speedometer locked again and would read what I believed to be 5mph over the speed limit, but I could hear the engine revving and feel myself speeding up. I parked the car and pulled the majority of the fuse panel after this event, barely used it, reset the firmware version on the head unit and do not have this issue today. I reported this to Nissan twice in person, once on the phone and twice in writing. Nissan refuses to look into it until I pay for them to plug up their equipment to determine what happened and that there is nothing wrong since there is not yet a recall leading to my event.

On December 18, 2023, on the Masspike, inbound, at the morning rush hour, the traffic was in a hard stop for more than 1 hour (moving very slow bumper to bumper), after the Brighton exit, whatever the reason of the traffic jam cleared and all the car speeded up... My Nissan Rogue Sport accelerated a bit but them came to a very low speed (~ 10 mph). I checked whether I was in the right gear (it was: D), checked whether there was any dashboard error sign (there was not!); the car was very slow at a moment when all the cars near me where rushing. I truly though I could get rammed in the rear by cars trying to get to their destination. All cars were honking because I was at a very low speed (and I put on the emergency lights). I took the car for service at the Marlborough Nissan (740 Boston Post Rd E. Marlborough, Massachusetts 01752) today (December 26 2023), but they claimed there was nothing wrong with the car. I can tell you that if Nissan does nothing to solve this problem, other cars of their brand will have a big problem. I don't know what the problem is, but there are several post in Internet claiming this is a big issue: [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] Please address this situation to Nissan, because they are denying any wrongdoing, even though that this is a design issue in their system. ABOUT 50 MILES IN DURING A ROAD TRIP, CVT TRANSMISSION FAILED. SLUGGISH WHEN ACCELERATING, WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 40 MPH. GEAR WOULD NOT RELEASE TO REVERSE OR PUT INTO PARK TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. HAD TO FIND AN OPEN FIELD IN ORDER TO TURN AROUND AND DRIVE BACK HOME DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO REVERSE. PROCEEDED BACK WITH FLASHERS ON AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED. WHEN I REACHED HOME, I PUSHED THE BUTTON TO POWER OFF THE VEHICLE, IT GAVE A WARNING THAT IT MUST BE IN PARK FIRST BUT I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE GEAR IN PARK AT THIS POINT. DURING THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT AND RETURNING HOME, THERE WAS NO WARNINGS PRESENT ON THE DASH. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY AT 75 MPH DURING THIS INCIDENT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC! I CALLED THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN ON MONDAY. IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND JUST HIT 50,000 MILES. UPON RESEARCHING, THIS SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE WITH ROGUES OF CERTAIN YEARS, MINE INCLUDED IN 2020, WITH NISSAN.

Unknown, this is what I remember, As I was traveling on this highway I pushed the lane correcting button on because it was raining and I don't like being out in the rain. I had put on my Cruse control and after about halfway to the exit I turned the Cruse control off so that the vehicle could slow down and I could cost to the exit however out of nowhere my steering wheel starts pulling to the left so I tried to turn it back to align with the back of my truck and the steering wheel was stuck it would not move so, I braced myself for impact. I am still scared. No one will help me and the vehicle is available for request if need be. I really could have been killed and someone else too if they had been near me at the time of the accident. The guard rails saved me from going into the opposite side of traffic on the highway. Because of what I was doing no one will help me. So I don't know what to do now. There were no warning signs before the accident however I did have an oil change and my tires rotated 3 weeks before my accident. Everything happened on the day of my accident. No 1 will look at it. My insurance will not cover me so they will not help and the people I was driving for are basically not responsible and now I am out of my vehicle and I need it inspected but no 1 will help me.

Bought new in 2020, then after 24k miles, had rough idle, uneven acceleration, occasional lurching while decelerating. Check engine indicator, code p0301. Dealership diagnosed faulty transmission, said needed replacement, then took about 90 days to finish repairing the vehicle. Now, as I expected, 25k miles later, exactly the same situation, except so far the check engine light has not come on and diagnostic code was only obtained by checking OBDII data after noticing the return of symptoms. I have no reason to believe if the vehicle is turned in that it will be completed in a reasonable time frame. Also it's clear that even after replacement, the new component is only likely to run for an additional 20k-25k miles.

I was traveling between SC and NY on June 29, 2022. Two hours into the trip I stopped at a rest stop. When I accelerated back to highway speed and entered the freeway the car began decelerating It kept decelerating and I had to pull over to the shoulder. The car shut off. The car would restart and then immediately shut off I tried 5 times with the same result. There were no warning lights display. I had to be towed to the dealership. They tested various systems and then told me that the battery was just weak so they replaced it. This is a safety issue. Traffic on the freeway was very heavy and had been moving very fast. If I had made it into the center lane before the car decided to shut down, there would have been no way to get to the curve without having a major accident.
