The contact stated that upon inspecting the vehicle, there were metal shavings inside the engine oil. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was later towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a high-pressure fuel pump failure. The contact was informed that metal shavings were found throughout the fuel system. The contact was informed that the fuel system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V767000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) in January 2025. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was awarded a goodwill discount of sixty percent off the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 99,051.

When filling the truck full, fuel will occasionally spill out onto myself and the ground. The fuel also leaks into the cap canister, purge valve and dumps fuel into the manifold as well as leaking on the ground. When driving the entire cab reeks of fuel. This is a known issue by Dodge and they have a TSB out on it. My vehicle could become a fireball at any time. Dealer replaced my evap canister but didn’t even give me the TSB which wound up costing me more money once my mechanic found the problem. This is a 3,000.00 + repair for something that can cause a severe fire.

High Pressure Fuel Pump failed. Pump failure can cause car to stop when not intended. Problem confirmed by an independent service center. Component not inspected by others. No warning lights or messages prior to the failure. The gas tank does not fill properly and leads to spilled gas while filling the tank. There is a technical bulletin (looks like 14-001-22) that tells mechanics how to fix the issue. I brought my truck to a mechanic who was able to replicate this issue and did confirm with a neighboring Chrysler dealership that they would not help cover the cost of the repair. The mechanic's notes mention that the TSB requires the fuel tank to be replaced entirely. There were no indications that this was an issue prior to it happening ~5 weeks into me owning the vehicle.

Driving and tried to pass a truck loss of power (dash lit up and no top-end) went to limp mode, Hard start upon starting and limp mode continues, code P0336 (crank sensor/reluctor wheel), on dash codes = service electric throttle control & service electronic stability control. Mileage = 110,000, Required service and maintenance completed at recommended intervals, regarding current codes cleaned all related sensors and throttle body, filters and no changes. symptoms are identical to 2019 model complaints. calling dealer regarding fuel system recall and this problem. (this is an estimated $2500 + repair by certified repair mechanic who states repair may fix for a year or less, but it is a continued issue once it starts)

Fueling issue is a known problem, which should be a recall. They even issued a bulletin about it. Fuel Tank Filling Issues (TSB 14-001-22): Affected 2018–2020 Ram 1500s built on or before June 9, 2020 (3.6L V6) or March 16, 2020 (5.7L V8), often due to a faulty rollover valve within the tank. Symptoms include the gas nozzle clicking off repeatedly, making it difficult or impossible to fill the tank

Can't refuel due to what appears to be a stuck rollover valve in the fuel filler neck. Splashes fuel on the ground at the gas pump. This is a major known issue on 5th generation Ram trucks, just give it an online search, or YouTube, and you'll see that this is a common issue. Some people are breaking off the rollover valve, letting it fall into their tank, while others are disconnecting lines to their Evap systems. This issue needs to be addressed by Ram.

The high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) in the vehicle’s diesel fuel system failed. This component is subject to NHTSA Safety Recall 22V-767 (FCA Recall Z96). The HPFP has failed more than once, including after recall replacement, and the vehicle is currently in dealer custody, making the component available for inspection upon request. The HPFP failure caused the vehicle to stall and become inoperable, resulting in an unexpected loss of motive power. This created a safety risk by leaving the vehicle disabled and unable to be safely driven. The recall itself identifies HPFP failure as a condition that can lead to engine stall without warning, increasing the risk of a crash. The repeat failure after recall repair further increased safety risk. The failure was confirmed by an authorized Ram dealership (Gene’s CDJR of Fairbanks). The dealer documented HPFP failure and fuel system contamination, performed the recall repair, and later confirmed repeat fuel system issues. Most recently, the replacement HPFP failed again during an extended test drive performed by the dealer, confirming recurrence of the defect. The vehicle has been repeatedly inspected by an authorized Ram dealership, including: Recall repair inspection and replacement of the HPFP and related fuel system components, Multiple follow-up inspections after continued symptoms, Diagnostic inspections following check-engine lights, noise, fumes, and loss of drivability. No police or insurance inspections were performed, as this was a mechanical failure handled directly by the dealer under a safety recall. There was no warning prior to the HPFP going out the first time.

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while her husband was driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle veered off the road. The contact stated that the passenger's and driver's side curtains airbags and the front driver's seat and front passenger's seat side airbags deployed. The contact stated that no collision had occurred during the incident. There was no injury sustained. The air bag warning light was illuminated. The neighbors assisted the driver in cutting the airbags that were obstructing the road visibility. The driver then drove to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the front driver's side and passenger's side seat belts were replaced because the seat's side air bags deployment had rendered the seat belts inoperable. Additionally, the contact stated that while attempting to refuel the vehicle, the fuel could not enter the vehicle and splashed out. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Entered vehicle and notice strong smell of gasoline, driving my young kids to daycare and preschool they complained of the smell and we had to lower windows. Upon dropping them off, went to mechanic who confirmed it was a fuel system issue, fixed a valve. Following few days the truck has issues starting and is stalling and jerking at lights. I return to the mechanic who advises it is the same issue and relates to the fuel pump system failing and they have ordered the part that is on a 45 day backlog. Problem persists and make my trucks unsafe to drive and I am unable to drive it. I have spoken with RAM who advised my truck model is not included in the recall AND is freshly out of warranty. This is extremely frustrating I have to spend thousands to replace this and am unable to drive my truck for approximately 2 months IF the part arrives on time.

I took my 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiese to a Chrysler-Dodge-Ram dealership on 9/23/25 for the High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) safety recall. I was told a part had to be ordered to complete the recall and gave me a rental vehicle. After a few days I contacted the dealership about my repair. They said the wrong part was ordered and the new one was in route. After about a week, I called the dealership again and I was told "the truck won't start and they were working with Stellantis to figure out why." Several more days passed, I called again, they stated that after the new pump was installed and the truck was started it "blew a rod," but they had fixed it, test drove it, and it would be ready for pick up the next day. I picked up the truck on 10/16/25 and drove less than 50 miles (first trip home from the dealership.) While traveling at highway speed on interstate 77 at night, the truck suddenly lost all engine power, a “throttle” warning message appeared, I noticed a strong odor of burnt oil, and I was only able to get from the left passing lane across to the right truck lane, only getting 2 tires on the shoulder (see pic). The truck would not start again, it just made a click-click-click sound. I jumped out of the truck as there was a truck in that lane coming toward me and ran into the woods to escape. I and the truck were nearly struck by traffic.This was a life-threatening situation. Luckily, a Courtesy Patrol saw me and blocked the lane with road flares. Eventually the truck was towed (had to be dragged on to the flatbed). At that time I noticed engine oil was splashed all over the underside of truck. It was towed to the same dealership.This catastrophic failure occurred hours after I was told it was safe to drive.This incident placed my life and the lives of other motorists at extreme risk. A recall intended to improve safety appears to have introduced a new, severe safety hazard. The truck has been at the dealership since 10/17/25 and I have not been updated since.

While refueling my 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie with the large (33 gal) fuel tank, the fuel pump "vacuum-assisted automatic shutoff" or "nozzle shutoff mechanism" is triggered dozens of times prior to the tank actually reaching a full level. I have been experiencing this issue consistently for the past year and it has occurred, to the same degree, at each of the fill-ups conducted at a variety of gas stations during this time. I've had an independent service center diagnose the issue and they recommended I take it to a dealer for service and also report the issue because this has been a common issue they have seen. Other Ram 1500 owners on internet forums also report having had this issue. The safety issue is that gas may become trapped in a fuel system component where it shouldn't be collecting which exposes vehicle occupants to an increased risk of fire in the event of an accident. Furthermore, this condition makes it nearly impossible to know when the fuel tank is full because the shutoff mechanism is triggered many times prior to full. This results in over-filling the tank and possibly having fuel remain in the filler neck, which also unnecessarily increases the risk to vehicle occupants to fire or explosion if involved in an accident. Vehicle owner manuals and gas station pump warning stickers typically warn operators of the dangers of over-filling or "topping off" fuel tanks specifically for this reason. With the system not operating correctly, the risk of overfilling is severe and unsafe.

I purchased a new Dodge Ram 1550 Big Horn in July of 2020. To date I have only 21,000 miles on this vehicle. In January of 2023, at the 12,555 mile mark, they had to install a new fuel delivery line and fuel tank because I was unable to fill the tank. This was due to the rollover valve molded into the top of the tank malfunctioning and sticking. 25 months and 9,000 more miles later, I am once again battling this same issue. Dodge states there is no recall on this item, yet there are thousands of online posts with people screaming "why is there no recall". This is costing us as consumers thousands of dollars in unrealistic repairs. I'm unsure if this is the correct venue to vent this, but can anyone help?

Every winter, since 2020 when I fill my gas tank with gas, the nozzle stops every time I squeeze the gas pump at the gas station. My tank will only take a couple gallons before the nozzle stops. I spend upwards of an hour at the gas station to just fill up my tank half way. Stellantis makes faulty gas tanks and has been for years. This faulty gas tanks forces customers to take their car into the shop and "forces" customers to purchase new gas tanks and fuel pumps. The gas tanks are faulty, they can cause harm due to faulty vent release. Multiple lawsuits have been filed in the past due to this issue, but Stellantis refused to recall and/or reimburse customers for this.

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed a burning odor around the exterior of the vehicle. The contact performed an inspection and determined that the burning odor was coming from underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was started, and an error message was displayed, instructing the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer within the next 200 miles. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a fractured diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) system. The contact was informed that the DEF system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer for further additional diagnostic tests. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Refueling vehicle has become a hazard due to repeated overflow out of fueling stem of vehicle. When inserting gasoline fuel nozzle from gas station pump and squeezing gas fuel nozzle handle the gasoline does not enter tank but rather spurts out around the fuel nozzle spilling down the side of the vehicle and onto the ground and onto the shoes and clothing of the person fueling the vehicle. Refueling the vehicle puts the refueler and occupants and others in the area at risk of contamination by the flammable fuel and environmental contamination. Repeated attempts to "feather" the flow from the nozzle have failed to alleviate this problem. Repeated attempts to use different fuel pumps and other gas station pumps have failed as well. There is no indication of a problem on the dashboard indicator lamps nor messages. No inspection by dealer has occurred by dealer as of yet.

Power Distribution Center/Relay box failure. Contacts in box melted for ASD Relay. Incident occurred while driving on the highway at 65mph. Vehicle without warning had power loss in accelerator, and started downshifting gears. Dash immediately said “park and restart required.” Attempting to start engine, vehicle would crank/no start. After several attempts, vehicle restarted and resumed normal driving until “park and restart required” happened again. After vehicle shut down multiple times on highway, I was able to make it home and diagnose problem. I checked the fuses and relays on the PDC and found ASD relay intact with no burn or scorch marks on contacts. However, the socket is missing contacts within the pdc. I reproduced said problem by moving the ASD relay with vehicle running. There are no warning lamps, messages, or codes to show any kind of failure.
