Twice now my engine has shut off while driving at low speeds under 25mph. When this happens my electric emergency brake engages. Dash tells me to shift to park. The first time this happened my truck was stuck in the middle of an intersection and I almost got hit several times because the truck wasn’t restarting or releasing the electric brake. Took about 7-8 try’s of getting it to start before it finally started then the truck still wouldn’t move because the electric brake wouldn’t disengage even when trying to manually disengage it. I had to turn vehicle off and back on again for the electric brake to manually release. The second time this happened I again was stuck in an intersection but was able to restart on the 2nd try and had to manually release the electric brake. The dealer has told me no codes no problem found the first time this happened. I’m bringing it back to them this weekend. I do not feel safe in this vehicle due to this happening! I feel like I have been lucky that nobody has crashed into me when this happens.

Two week Monday July 6, around 3:15pm while driving down on highway passing lane suddenly the vehicle start loosing speed and after few seconds I noticed that the engine stalled. No warning light or anything, the steering wheel turns to very heavy and the break pedal is really hard as well. Fortunately near by there was a U-turn lane for authorized vehicles only and I was able to merge to it and stop. After that I was able to start the vehicle immediately with no issues. Behind me there were at least 10 other cars trying to pass a line of semi trucks and I was lucky to nobody crash on my rear. I took the vehicle to the dealer, they run tests and tried to reproduce but no success. Besides the dealer no one checked anything due to there was no substantial damage or anything. Actually this was the second time that the vehicle engine stalled. First time was couple months back while my wife was driving in low speed trying to move out from a stopping light and the engine stalled.

The engine intermittently stalls when I press the accelerator. When this happens, the vehicle loses power, the AutoPark/electronic parking brake engages, and the battery warning light appears. This has happened more than once and creates a serious risk of a collision or being stranded if it occurs in traffic. The vehicle is a 2022 Ram 1500 Rebel with the 5.7L eTorque system. The manufacturer’s records show customer satisfaction campaign Z49 as completed, but the stalling problem continues. The symptoms appear similar to those under NHTSA investigation PE24-018. The vehicle is available for inspection.

The vehicle shut down and set the emergency parking brake while the vehicle was in motion at a rate of less than 15 mph. This has occurred 5 times. The first time it occurred the dealership said that it just required a software update. Every instance the vehicle was under 15 mph, and in the process of turning onto a road. There were no indications that this was going to happen before it occurred

Am having issues with my 22 Ram 1500 limited 4x4 with the 5.7 HEMI MDS. there are issues with this engine since 2009. The MDS lifters and cam shaft do not get enough oil. They already replaced the cam shaft and oil pan pickup. Now they have my truck for over 3 weeks to replace the engine. The only problem is that they are replacing it with the same one and hoping again that nothing goes wrong. Called Ram and was basically told too bad. And i have another vehicle with the same engine and it's starting to do the same thing my engine was doing. Asked them to use non MDS so it won't happed again but was basically told too bad. Do not think this is fair since they have known about this problem since 09. If I would have known this,I would have not purchased the 2 vehicles. I think the resolution should be that they install non MDS parts now and when it happens to my 23 JEEP WAGONEER. [XXX] I was local driving and my Ram truck got silent and engine died. I still had power steering. When I rolled to a stop the message said "press brake and put in park". The truck put itself in park before I pressed the brake pedal. It took 3 attempts to get my truck started. I drove to Walker dealer in Alexandria, La., and reported problem. Service advisor put a computer on the truck and it had a code. We made an appointment for 4-7-26 to get it resolved. I left my truck at the dealership at 8:30am and picked it up at 5pm. Advisor said they fixed a code and everything else checked out in OK status. That part was under warranty so no charge. The same thing happened last summer but I did not report it as I was able to start the truck and thought I had done something wrong. I am scared to make a trip anywhere and leave me stranded. I now make sure I have towing coverage. Because it is something that has to do with computers, I have to stay close to a dealership because their computer tools are proprietary. The truck gave no warning or indication of any kind. It just died. I keep all my paperwork from the dealership. I bought the truck with 2000 miles on it. I was driving my Ram 1500 5.7L eTorque this morning (2022, ~36k miles). About 10 minutes in, I was stopped at a light and the truck shut down completely (engine, electric, etc.) There was no prior notice, nor was it having problems. When I tried to go as the light turned green, obviously the truck did not go. I noticed several panel lights come on, including the battery light. There was also a message that said something to the extent that the emergency brake had automatically engaged and needed to be released. After a minute, I was able to re-start the car and drive home. Cars behind me honked, and eventually went around me. I have an appointment to take the truck in, but no diagnosis as of now. I did research and read that this a known problem with the 5.7L eTorque, and that some trucks have been recalled (NHTSA Recall 23V-235) for similar issues, and there is also on ongoing investigation for others that were not part of the recall. My experience is similar to everything I've seen/read reported by other drivers (e.g., seemingly random stall with no prior warning, certain dash lights coming on, auto-engagement of the parking break).

2022 Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7l Hemi coolant system issues. Every time I get out of my truck I smell coolant. Took it to Crain Dodge Ram & Jeep Benton, AR. The first time they pressure tested system and found no leaks. Told me it was normal! 1 week later, it's back and they could smell how bad it was.Still no leaks. I dropped it off and after 2 weeks, they haven't touched it. Finally after 3 weeks they send me a text saying that there is dirt in the coolant and needs to be flushed and will cost $400. Truck is still under the 60k mile bumper to bumper warranty. I told them that if there were no leaks, and my truck has never seen mud and rarely sees gravel, I did some research and found several TSB's on the coolant system being contaminated by engine oil and that there is also an issue with casting sand being left in the engine blocks after manufacturing process, and contaminats the coolant system and Jeep is having the same issue which is causing engine fires! I took screenshots of the TSB's I found online and sent them to the dealership. They refuse to address the issue and have not made any attempts to resolve the issue! I should not be held responsible for the engine manufacturer leaving casting sand in the block and is causing coolant issues in my truck! Why would a dealership, that I have bought 3 Ram trucks from, 2 suv's from, not even attempt to investigate the issues of coolant contamination that seems to be a recurring problem in these trucks! And how many other people have they scammed and made them pay for coolant flush and new coolant? And just how much damage has been done to the aluminum heads, thermostat, heater core, and radiator after coolant has circulated through the system like a sand blaster, eating away at all of the interior coolant parts and cylinder heads and gaskets! And what kind of permanent damage to the engine and water pump do I have to worry about in the future, that will most likely occur after the factory warranty has expired!

While driving at low speeds twice now my ram 1500 has stalled and engaged the parking break. Once coming to a stop and another time making a turn onto a road. Once I turn the truck back on there is a battery light on the dash and I’m allowed to drive to a safe place and restart the truck and the battery light goes away. Very concerned for my safety due to living next to a busy road.

Fullerton, CA

ENGINE

While driving on the 60 East highway (approximately 65-68 mph), the vehicle did not accelarate and became completely non-responsive. Each time I pressed on the gas pedal, the RPM needle started trembling between 600-1100, which is much lower than where it should be while the vehicle was in Drive and traveling at this speed. This was an extremely dangerous situation as I had my wife and 5 month old daughter in the vehicle, and other vehicles were traveling significantly faster than me. I noticed some engine vibrations, and the digital gauge cluster screen presented information on the screen as if the vehicle was "off." It instructed me to push the gear lever into Park. It then instructed me to press the brake pedal and push the iginition button. All of this occurred as the vehicle was still coasting (likely around 40 mph). I pulled over on to the shoulder to see what occurred. After coming to a complete stop the engine cut out. I was able to restart the vehicle and drove approximately 10 minutes before it occurred again on the surface streets. At that point the ignition did not catch and it sounded very much like the engine was not able to turn on at all. The check engine light turned on at this point. I called AAA for tow services shortly thereafter, and the vehicle was dropped off at the dealership. I have not received any followup from the dearlership yet.

The part on my truck in question is the "OEM Actuator Manifold Runner", or "ISV Actuator", or "Swirl Valve Actuator". I've seen the part called several things online. My mechanic and dealerships I've visited with tell me this part is on major back order and 300+ individuals nationwide are also waiting on the part. I'm told there is no open recall for this part. My truck is currently not safe to drive and the part is unavailable. There needs to be a recall placed on this part that so many people are having the same issue with and cannot obtain the parts needed to repair the issue. This is costing me thousands of dollars worth of rental car fees, and I still have no estimated timeframe on when this part will be available. Again, there should be a recall on this part. Based on what I've read online this part availability issue is not new. If not a recall, this part must be under warranty after the abundance of cases related to this part. How can I get a solution to this issue?
