I had left work less than 2 miles away. I was sitting at red light. The light turn green I took my foot off brake my screen went black and power failed. I put it in park and it restart. Power came back on. I turn off A button and drove 22 miles home with no known issues. No warning lights had came on. I found this to be a dangerous situation in traffic. 2 weeks ago I had taken my car for oil change, tire rotation and had a brake flush to dealership in Spanish fort Daphne, AL. I currently have 37,688 miles on car.

Pooling of water on passenger side of vehicle. Drain tube clogged HVAC under 2300 miles. They stated it was because I ran through a mud puddle and denied the warranty and will not cover the interior of the vehicle. The interior is moldy from the water exposure, and the electrical system has been compromised. I cannot use the vehicle as the mold poses an immediate environmental safety concern for my family to include by 1 year old child.

My vehicle is subject to Toyota Safety Recall 25TA15 (NHTSA Recall 25V869) involving a loose inverter bolt. Toyota dealership has retained possession of my vehicle since February 23, 2026. As of June 22, 2026, the vehicle has been out of service for more than 120 days. Toyota has failed to provide a repair date, repair timeline, or meaningful resolution despite multiple contacts, a certified mail notice, and attorney involvement. Toyota Case Number: 260323003356.

I am reporting Certification Fraud and severe safety violations by Central Florida Toyota. This vehicle was sold as "Toyota Gold Certified" on March 28, 2026, while having an active safety recall (NHTSA 26V203) with no available remedy. Furthermore, a professional inspection revealed a high-voltage hybrid system leak and structural damage (bondo/rust) on engine mounts, indicating a hidden prior collision. The 160-point inspection was falsified to mask these defects. Although the contract was eventually unwound, this vehicle was sold in a lethal condition, violating federal safety standards.

Vehicle: 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross (gas‑powered, non‑hybrid) System/Component: Electrical System → Start/Stop System → Driver Information Display Issue Type: Design Defect / Driver Distraction I am reporting a recurring issue with my 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross (gas‑powered, not a hybrid). The vehicle frequently displays a “Battery Charging” message on the dashboard whenever I come to a stop at traffic lights or stop signs. This message appears even when the vehicle is operating normally and there is no actual charging system problem. According to Toyota documentation and owner discussions, this message is triggered when the auto start/stop system decides not to shut off the engine due to the 12‑volt battery’s state of charge. However, the message is unnecessary, cannot be disabled, and provides no actionable information to the driver. It functions as a non‑critical status notification but is presented with the same prominence as a warning. This creates a driver distraction, as the message repeatedly draws attention away from the road for a condition that is not a fault, not a safety issue, and not something the driver can address. The message appears frequently during normal driving and cannot be suppressed. I believe this is a design flaw in Toyota’s start/stop implementation and dashboard messaging. The system should not display a warning‑style message for normal operating behavior, especially when it cannot be corrected by the driver. I am requesting that NHTSA log this issue as a potential driver‑distraction concern and encourage Toyota to revise the software to eliminate or suppress this unnecessary message.

I was driving on a cold day. When I stopped at a stoplight seeking to make a left turn, the car would not accelerate when I pressed the gas pedal. I looked down and saw the following warning sign "Engine Stopped, Steering Power Low" appear on the dashboard. However, since the car was not in park, it had rolled forward and was close to the being in the nearest lane of oncoming traffic. It was also difficult to steer to avoid creeping closer to oncoming traffic. Although it did not cause an accident, it easily could have. I took the car to several mechanics, because the car is under a CarMax warranty. However, none of the diagnostics revealed anything of concern (no weak battery, lack of power steering fluid, etc.). The mechanics said they had heard about this happening, but were unable to pinpoint any reason for it occuring. This seems like a serious flaw.

My car was stopped at a stop sign. My auto off engaged, and then my engine shut down. I was stalled out on the road and it took me 6 attempts to restart my car. Message was engine stopped, power steering failure

Vehicle displayed a “power brake loss” on the 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid instrument cluster upon trying to start it. After not being able to turn the vehicle on, I exited the vehicle to ensure my key fob was in my pocket. All electronics worked. After roughly 4 minutes of being in the car all power was loss - battery drained. Towing company that my Toyota Dealership Provides had a number out of service so a different towing service came out and jumped my car - my warranty couldn’t be used since the towing company didn’t answer. The towing technician let me know that Toyota put in an extremely low voltage battery in my Hybrid. He expressed how the standard for these vehicles is AGM or high performance batteries to ensure stable voltage for hybrid management, and compatibility with regenerative systems - using the right part prevents electrical issues. My brakes are connected to my electrical system. By putting in weak batteries and below standard expectation is putting their consumers at many risks with electrical malfunctions. I was informed by the dealer after getting it replaced this is the Toyota Manufacturer issue and I had a technician even agree the weak batteries will only help in getting consumers back to a dealer quicker.

My 2024 toyota corolla xse hybrid had died 3 times because the 12 volt battery is no good. The battery has been replaced with the same type of 12 volt battery 2 times and the car still died. the car becomes inoperable. Hybrid cars, particularly Toyota, are experiencing significant 12-volt battery failures due to parasitic drain, leading to premature battery death. Affected models include the Toyota Corolla. The issue, often linked to faulty software, can cause the car to become completely inoperable. Commonly Reported Models with 12V Battery Issues: Toyota Corolla: Multiple reports of 12V battery issues, especially in, but not limited to, colder climates.

The fuel gage does not update to reflect a full tank. The check engine light has turned on twice along with a notification of a system malfunction. When the car was taken to the dealership the fuel level sender had to be replaced. The check engine light turned on again after having the fuel sender replace. After taking the vehicle to the dealership an additional time it was identified that the fuel tank was defective.

I purchased a brand-new 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross LE on [XXX], in St. Croix, Virgin Islands, selling price, $31, 500.00 Early July 2025, I started the vehicle, and unexpectedly, multiple lights emerged on the dashboard screen per below, Exhibit 1 - Check Engine - Visit your dealer Exhibit 2 -Drive Start Control Malfunction - Visit your dealer Exhibit 3 - Parking Brake Malfunction Exhibit 4 - Secondary Collision - Brake System Malfunction Exhibit 5- Parking System Malfunction The vehicle was taken to Island Toyota on July 5th. The codes were cleared by removing the battery terminal. Two days later, the warning lights reappeared. After the technician performed diagnostic testing, I received a phone call to pick up the vehicle. The total cost of the ordered parts exceeds $2,000, which includes a computer. This vehicle is under warranty, particular vehicle IS NOT TWO YEARS OLD. This vehicle is a LEMON. I spoke with Carlos Rivera, a Customer Service Agent at Toyota of Puerto Rico. I notified him of this matter via phone calls, and he responded. He stated that his department is the warranty department, solely responsible for ordering parts for vehicles with warranties. He advised me to speak Ms Charla Green, the General Manager for Toyota St. Croix. Not quite sure why she never returns calls and is virtually unfeasible to speak with customers is atrocious. The front desk agents seems to be programmed to let you know Ms Green is not available and the supervisor, Ms Francis, seems uninterested in the daily chronicles with ones vehicle. The Entire department running blind while upper management is collecting hefty salaries. When the poor man cries out in distress, it’s a deep yearning for help and reassurance from the workers getting paid to help. 1The car's speedometer has a serious problem. Sometimes it is lower than the actual mileage, and sometimes it is higher than the actual mileage. The deviation is huge.08/12/2025 After I repeatedly requested repairs, the dealer finally agreed to inspect the car the next day. However, without any road or GPS tests, they concluded that the car had no quality problems. 2My safety or the safety of others is indeed threatened because the speedometer is highly inaccurate, which may lead to speeding or other unsafe behaviors 3The problem was not taken seriously by the dealer or independent service center. They just said that there was no problem with the car without any road test or GPS test. 4The vehicle was only briefly inspected by the dealer.

Car purchased new from Toyota dealer. Picked up [XXX]. Immediately found faulty problems with interior and exterior of car. No quality control or post delivery checks were conducted. Car brought back to dealer the next working day ([XXX]) and spent a week there but repairs were not attempted. Complaint filed with Toyota USA headquarters and request for them to take the car back and give refund on July 1st. Car infotainment system blacks out, dashboard is warped and speakers are coming out of their place on dashboard. Steering wheel is puckering. Toyota headquarters said it will open a case to look into it. The car had less than 100miles on it. On July 26th I log into the Toyota complaints website to add more information and find that the case status is “closed” and no one is reachable to contact at the Toyota headquarters. [XXX] as I am driving the car on a main highway, the car suddenly completely stops without any warning. Engine light is on. “Hybrid system malfunction” and car brakes stop working. My life was threatened by this unreliable dangerous new car and car had to be towed back to dealer. Car never switched on again after that. A service department supervisor at the Toyota dealer (Pauly Toyota in Illinois) mentioned to me at the beginning of July that usually, new cars delivered to the dealer need to be inspected but pauly Toyota does not employ these special inspectors and instead “a regular mechanic does a look over”. He also said this model of Toyota (Corolla cross hybrid) is new and the team is not familiar with its repairs and parts need pre ordering as none can be available for such a new model. I relayed this information to Toyota headquarters on July 1st and again on July 26th but was told both times “Toyota trusts its dealers with the repairs”. My life was put in danger and this was preventable. Toyota USA refuse to do a recall on this vehicle when it is dangerous and not fit to be a car for humans.
