approximately 6 years my daughter and her boyfriend were driving and she heard a loud pop sound, and thought it might be a tire but it wasnt behaving like it was and then all of the sudden people are driving next to her telling her to pull over cuz the car was on fire, she pulled it over and as soon as she got out the whole car caught fire. when they noticed the fire it had started near or under the passenger front seat, there was no warning lamps or any problems proir. The auto insurance company took the car and they said they inspected it but never gave me any answers, they simply paid off my loan and that was it. The fire department put out the fire, the car was burnt to a crisp, and the fire men were accusing my kid of smoking and starting the fire, so they did no investigation.

My airbag light came on my 2012 EOS and Vw dealer said it was a Clock Spring part issue causing it part number (5K0-953-569-AL) I mentioned this is a safety issue as it also disabled my horn on steering wheel and was pretty sure VW had a recall/bulletin or campaign on this issue. Appears for some odd reason VW didn’t have my vin [XXX] listed or flagged which I believe is a clear mistake. I am escalating this situation with VW and now here as my vehicle is having this same problem and needs listed as well. I strongly feel vw should replace the defective part 5K0-953-569-AL as part of an unidentified vin or vehicle they seem to pick and choose and that isn’t right. In an accident I was struck by another vehicle that swerved into my lane at a very high rate of speed. His vehicle struck my car on the drivers side front quater panel just after the head light and continued past the drivers door. Air bags failed to deploy causing injuries to my head and body. In a separate accident, head on collision the airbags failed in the front and side causing bodily injuries. The failure of the air bags to deploy was supposed to fixed in Nov 2022 at the VW dealership with the clock spring recall . I did have that replaced so why did mine fail not once but twice after the clock spring was replaced?

My daughter was driving on the freeway to work around 5am when her sunroof burst onto thousands of pieces. She stated "it sound like a massive explosion and scared her causing her to swerve her car." Thank God it was early in the morning, on a weekend, and with minimal traffic on the road. She was able to pull over safely, and call me. We have now been dealing with the insurance company that tells us the glass is covered, but safelite tells us they are unable to repair it. The volkswagen dealership told us their are 2 windows in the US inventory, but not able too locate them. The cost to repair is estimated $2,400. The dealership said this is a very common issue with the sunroofs to burst like this. My daughter's 2007 eos has less than 100,000 miles on it. Insurance won't total it as nothing is wrong to do so, and other than this window there is absolutely nothing wrong with the car. She can not drive it due to the safety risks of her head being exposed id wrecked, and the car at risk of theft. Please if this happens all the time then why are they not held responsible to replace it? It's just like the leaks on the arms of the hard top that volkswagenis definitelyaware of, and does nothing about. Maybe the un recalled seals that leak in the roof have something to do with the well known sunroof issues, and strings that dry rot out from getting wet. We have replaced the whole string kit and both arms with seals to the roof already. The dealership Larry Miller Volkswagen said these should be recalled due to as many as they have replaced over the years. Please help us. My daughter loves her car.

We have the Xenon headlights, which requires us to have headlight washers on our cars due to safety issue for the other drivers on the road so they don’t get blinded, who’s is great if 1) they worked most of the time 2) people did not start pulling the fuse or discontinuing the hose so it hit the ground. See Volkswagen has a know issue, that when they pop out to spray the headlights, they are known to break the cover! This in turn leaves the sprayer exposed to the elements to get clogged and not work, owners to get mad because they just break again after replaced (reason why they get disconnected) and the cost is not cheap to replace, the actual part is not bad the problem is, it’s primed grey and you have to get it painted which cost over $100. If you do a quick search over this you will see tons of complaints and the dealership is well aware of the issues, one lady had hers replaced under warranty and they said the sprayer was not in the right place. I could agree with that seeing as my windshield also gets sprayed! There were no warnings, we did not think ours even worked we had the car almost a year the first time they ever worked!! Still not sure what made them work exactly.

Unable to drive vehicle ABS system failure - no braking is possible. ABS warning light and loss of braking control while attempting to drive. The module part recall 45F2 does not apply to my year 2011 vehicle. Though the previous year there is a recall for the part by VW. VW representatives will not offer recall or payment for part replacement saying recall does not apply to 2011. Vehicle is at risk. VW will not assume responsibility for faulty part. The vehicle is too dangerous to drive. Consumers should be informed.

The Clockspring is a recalled item… Took the car in for repair in early February. They (Little Rock Volkswagen) said them and continue to say the part is on back order (and there is over 4000 on back order) and cannot tell me when the part will be in. I called VW corporate and filed a complaint, they said the back order problem is between the dealer and the part manufacturer… On a recalled item? This is unacceptable. The airbag light is on but they tell me my daughter is safe. That there is not an airbag problem… But if there was I guess she just wouldn’t know… VolksWagon needs to own this problem and resolve at the corporate level and get the part replaced or replace my vehicle. Little Rock VW today had the audacity to suggest that I find the part on EBay and find a backyard mechanic to install it as they cannot??? Really? A back yard mechanic??? A part on EBay?? Corporate was no better… Took my complaint and said I’d just have to wait on the part???

I was driving down the freeway at about 4:00 pm in the afternoon when my sunroof suddenly shattered. I was not near an overpass so nothing could have fallen on it. It was not an overly warm day so I don't think it was the heat. I can only conclude that it spontaneously exploded.

I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE ON 02/15/2013 IT ONLY HAVE 10,000 MILES ON IT. THEN AS SOON AS IT HIT 68,500 MILES AND WENT OUT OF WARRANTY. I HAD JUST HAD IT SERVICED FOR THE LAST TIME UNDER WARRANTY ON 6/21/2019 AT 67,996 MILES. THE TIMING CHAIN SNAPPED AND BENT ALL THE VALVES. I HAD TO REBUILD THE ENGINE. WHICH COASTED A FORTUNE. I SAW THAT THEIR WERE A BUNCH OF CLASS ACTION SUITES GOING ON AGAINST VOLKSWAGEN FOR SIMILAR ISSUE BUT WAS DEALING WITH A FAMILY CRISIS THAT ENDED POORLY AND WENT INTO A STATE OF DEPRESSION FROM THE DEATH OF MULTIPLE FAMILY MEMBERS BACK TO BACK SO I NEVER FOLLOWED UP ON IT. NOW MY CAR IS AT 80,000 MILES AND SEEMS TO BE EXPERIENCING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AS WELL AS PROBLEMS WITH THE CD PLAYER IT PROGRESSED AND NOW ALL DISK SPACES SAY ERROR AND I CANT PLAY CDS. WHEN I COULD GET IT WORKING IT WAS FINE UNTIL TURNING OFF THE CAR THEN OPENING THE DOOR I HEARD NOISES FROM THE PLAYER WHEN STARTING THE CAR IT SAYS ERROR IN ALL THE DISK SPACES AND HALF THE TIME WONT EVEN LET ME LOAD THE DISK. WHEN MY DAUGHTER & I WENT & LOOKED AT IT I LOOKED TO SEE IF IT HAD EVER BEEN WRECKED IT HAD NO REPORT OF THAT. THE PERSON THAT SOLD IT TO ME SAID THE CONVERTIBLE DIDN'T GO DOWN BECAUSE HE DIDN'T HAVE THE KEY, I HAD NO IDEA THAT IT HAD 33 COMPLAINTS FILED ON IT, AND IT WOULD BE LEAKING WATER FILLING THE FLOOR BOARDS 2-3"EVERY TIME IT STORMED. I ALSO DIDN'T KNOW THAT THE PERSON THAT BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW WAS HIT BY A ICE TRUCK WHO ROLLED OVER THE TOP OVER IT, NOR DID I KNOW THAT THE NEXT PERSON THAT BOUGHT THE CAR HAD THE CONVERTIBLE TOP BLOW OFF ON THE FREEWAY GOING 60 MPH DOWN THE ROAD SO HER MECHANIC JUST GLUED IT CLOSED, NOR DID I THE PERSON I BOUGHT IT FROM SAID IT HAD ONE OWNER AND IT RAN REALLY GREAT, I EXPRESSED I HAD TO BUY TWO CARS & COULDN'T AFFORD TO BUY JUNK OR SOMETHING UNRELIABLE, NOW MY DAUGHTER IS READY TO GO OUT OF STATE TO COLLEGE & WE CAN'T EVEN SELL THE CAR BECAUSE OF ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS FILED AGAINST THE CAR. IN 2015, THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE CLOCK SPRING. A REPAIR WAS MADE, NOT A REPLACEMENT WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 30,000 MILES ON IT. IN SEPT. 2018 AT APPROXIMATELY 56,000 MILES, THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND ALL STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS WERE LOST INCLUDING THE HORN. VW IS REFUSING TO COVER THE REPAIR UNDER THE RECALL BECAUSE OF THE COVER THAT WAS INITIALLY INSTALLED IN 2015. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE COVER DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE AND THE CLOCK SPRINGS ARE FAULTY AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS THEY AIRBAG AND HORN DO NOT WORK WHEN THEY FAIL. IF THEY HAD REPLACED THE CLOCK SPRING IN 2015, I WOULD UNDERSTAND A SECOND ONE NOT BEING COVERED. HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT REPLACE IT, THEY PLACED A COVER OVER IT. THEIR REFUSAL TO ADDRESS THE RECALL PROPERLY AND REPLACE THE PART IS UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE THE CLOCK SPRING, I DEMANDED IT WHEN I WAS FORCED TO PAY FOR A REPLACEMENT THAT COST OVER $700.00.

THE FOLLOWING DAY, WHILE DRIVING ON A 4-LANE HIGHWAY, ANOTHER VEHICLE BEGAN A LANE CHANGE WHILE I WAS IN ITS BLIND SPOT. I APPLIED THE BRAKES, AND ATTEMPTED TO SOUND THE HORN TO ALERT THE OTHER MOTORIST TO AVOID COLLISION, HOWEVER THE CAR'S HORN FAILED. THE ACCIDENT WAS AVOIDED, BUT THE EXPERIENCE WAS UNNERVING. MY WIFE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL VW SERVICE CENTER ON 10/5/18, AND WAS TOLD THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO AN ISSUE WITH THE CLOCK SPRING, A REPAIR WHICH SHE WAS TOLD WAS UNCOVERED BY RECALL. WE WERE A LITTLE SUSPICIOUS, BECAUSE THE DEALER HAD JUST PERFORMED A TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL SERVICE IN FEBRUARY, THEN TODAY WE RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE AIRBAG BUT NOT THIS RELATED ISSUE. SOME INVESTIGATION IN ONLINE PUBLICATIONS LIKE FORBES, INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE CLOCK SPRING IN 2015, WITH THIS VEHICLE LISTED IN THE MODEL LIST AND PRODUCTION DATES. HOWEVER, VW DOES NOT LIST THIS RECALL UNDER OUR VIN NUMBER. AGAIN WE ARE SUSPICIOUS. IT IS OUR FEELING THAT THE FAILURE OF THE CLOCK SPRING, AFFECTING THE SAFETY FEATURES OF THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG AND THE CAR HORN (THE HORN IS NOT BROKEN, THE CLOCK SPRING IS), POSES A MOTORIST SAFETY RISK TO THIS AND OTHER VEHICLES IN TRAFFIC.

I TOLD THE THAT THERE IS NO WAY THE MECHANIC WHO DID THE WORK COULD GUARANTEE THAT NO DEBRIS GOT INTO THE CLOCK SPRING DURING THE 3 YEARS PRIOR TO THE DUST COVER BEING INSTALLED. I ALSO TOLD THEM THAT THE FEDS OPENED ANOTHER INVESTIGATION IN OCT 2017 FOR VW NOT DOING ENOUGH TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH THE POORLY DESIGNED PART IN 2015. I TOLD THE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS AND HE SAID THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO. HE SAID THAT WHEN THE DUST COVER WAS PUT ON THEY NEVER GOT CLOSE TO THE CLOCK SPRING. I TOLD HIM THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO GET CLOSE TO THE CLOCK SPRING BECAUSE DEBRIS HAD ALREADY GOTTEN INTO THE CLOCK SPRING DURING THE 3 YEARS PRIOR TO IT BEING INSTALLED WHICH COMPROMISED THE CLOCK SPRING LEADING TO THE PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE CLOCK SPRING. I DON'T KNOW IF HE UNDERSTOOD WHAT I WAS SAYING OR WAS JUST BLOWING ME OFF.

THIS COMPLETE FAILURE COMES A SHORT 9 MONTHS AFTER THE INITIAL 'REPAIR' DONE FOLLOWING A VW RECALL ON THE PART- THEY SIMPLY PLACED A COVER OVER THE ORIGINAL CLOCK SPRING. THEY TELL ME THAT THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPLACEMENT OF THE PART, BECAUSE I HAD THE INITIAL SAFETY CHECK DONE AT THE TIME OF THE INITIAL RECALL AND THE PART WAS DEEMED FUNCTIONAL AT THAT POINT- EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE AWARE IT WOULD MOST LIKELY EVENTUALLY FAIL.

THE INTERIOR SIDE DOOR PANEL THE MATERIAL COMES LOSE. I HAD TO REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO AND CURRENTLY IN THE MIDDLE OF REPLACING THE PASSENGER SIDE. FROM RESEARCHING THIS SEEMS COMMON WITH THE EOS. I WOULD THINK THIS WOULD BE A QUALIFIER FOR A RECALL. THE CAR I HAVE ONLY HAS 67,000 MILES, STORED IN A GARAGE AND VERY LIMITED TIME WITH THE TOP DOWN. IF BEING LEFT OUTSIDE FOR ANY TIME THE TOP IS ALWAYS PUT UP TO PROTECT THE INTERIOR.
