The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed with the contact and her daughter inside the vehicle, her daughter's seat belt became extremely tight. The seat belt failed to unlatch, forcing the contact to cut the seat belt to remove her daughter from the seat. The contact believed that the seat belt had malfunctioned. Passenger side seatbelt latch gets stuck so when trying to buckle it doesn’t go in, you have to try multiple times. Get a notification on dashboard every once in a while saying seatbelt or airbag issue contact dealer. Warning light (air bag and seatbelt system) lights up. My safety is put at risk as I am pregnant and not sure whether the seatbelt will buckle or not while I’m in the passenger seat. I have not taken this In to be looked at yet.

In December 2017 we were involved in a rear end collision so violent the spare tire was knocked out from under the vehicle. Our vehicle, 2014 Buick Enclave VIN [XXX] was struck in the rear. The lap belt held us secure, but the shoulder belt allowed us to be tossed forward. My head hit the left windshield/top post leaving me looking like a racoon the next day. General Motors representatives, [XXX] CEO at the time ,stated the seat belts functioned properly. I injured my left wrist as a result of being thrown forward and have pain in it ever since then. We now drive a 2018 Buick Enclave VIN [XXX] that we purchased as a result of the December 2017 accident. We have noticed the same problem with the shoulder belts not working in sync with the lap belt, especially during a panic braking. Could this be product failure or just coincidence? Driver's seat belt cable going to floor on outside of seat broke, it is available for inspection. Seat belt is inoperative. I spoke with a dealer, but I am over on miles to be covered by warranty. The SmartFloor rear passenger (driver side and passenger side) bucket seat seatbelt retractors do not release to allow a passenger to buckle the seat belt. Both driver side and passenger side retractors fail in the same manner. Passengers are not able to buckle themselves in. Will report to Freedom Motors who use SmartFloor vehicle seats in their products.

Service airbag light came on one week before airbags in the front driver in front passenger side ruptured on their own in the middle of driving. This is cars the seat belts and the front seats to lock up and we now have no airbags. We did bring it in to see if we could get it at least the steering wheel one replaced because of the recall but the dealership (todd wenzel) and Grand Rapids Michigan stated that they refused to do it because they thought we were in an accident but you can clearly see we were not in an accident. The vehicle was also sold to me by a dealership that did not disclose the airbags had a recall and I did not find out until after the purchase was made.

The contact stated that on several occasions while the vehicle was started, the message “Service Air Bags” was displayed, and the red seat belt warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and DTC: B0014 and B0022 were retrieved. The contact stated that the passenger’s side seat belt anchor pretensioner showed a poor connection and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that after the diagnostic test was performed, the seat belt warning light was not illuminated at start up. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
