2023 Chevrolet Camaro Chula Vista, CA Crash

SEAT BELTS

I was involved in a motor vehicle accident. My airbags failed to deploy & I received a notification through my Chevrolet app on my phone, right after the accident stating “your 2023 Camaro airbag system has an issue. Schedule service”. My safety belt system also states there is an issue detected and to schedule service.

2015 Chevrolet Camaro Saintlouis, MO

The stereo system in this car controls alot of the electrical system. For a while it would come on and off now just off. It will not alert you if you forget to fasten seat belt, or if you forget keys in ignition . Defrost has warm air on one side cold on other no matter what settings are on . This causes windshield to fog up horribly and limits vision. It does not make sound when blinkers are on are left on after turning. So you can be driving forward and not know blinker is on giving other drivers the impression you are turning. I've seen videos where drivers are removing stereo and cutting white wire which says stereo comes back on when wire is cut. But it also disables Hazzard lights. Now your in the dark changing a flat and you have no Hazzard lights , but your stereo works very dangerous. This has got to be some sort of wiring issue which also make me fear a potential fire Hazzard

2011 Chevrolet Camaro La Puente, CA

SEAT BELTS

When someone sits in the passenger seat the airbag light/alarm goes on and off. My mechanic said I would need to take it to the dealer. I called dealer and they would need to diagnose if it is the seat belt or the seat weight sensor. Can cost upwards of $900. I just can't afford that. They should recall since I've researched so many complaints on this issue.

2014 Chevrolet Camaro Apollo Beach, FL Crash 1 injured

SEAT BELTS

The seatbelt rubs my neck no matter how adjust the seat. In 2015 I was in car accident and had a severe neck injury. I had Thoracic Outlet surgery. Recently on 8-24-23 I was in a fender bender . I injured my neck again, a disk bulge is pressing against my spinal cord. Both accidents the seatbelt pressed against my neck. I was wondering if it was a factory defect.

2017 Chevrolet Camaro Enterprise, AL

SEAT BELTS

The safety retention cable associated with securing the the driver's seat belt to the driver's seat broke. The stainless steel cable, being approximately 1/4" to 5/16" in diameter, became disconnected from the entire driver's side seat belt. Making the seat belt totally unusable to the driver of the vehicle. It is unknown what caused the cable to because cut and/or fail but, I am a 30 year military aviation maintenance veteran who has seen my fair share of material failure and the manner in which this cable failed is absolutely due to a material defect.

2017 Chevrolet Camaro Panorama City, CA

SEAT BELTS

My air bag light keeps popping up and tells me to service the air bags system and now it does it when nobody is on the seat too, the dealer told me they found the problem and charged me 500 and some dollars and i returned the car the same day they said it was fixed cause it was doing it again , I'm scared it might deploy. I never usually have anybody with me but sometimes my wife comes with me and they say is the seat restraints and i keep getting the run around. Thank you....

ON AUGUST 18TH 2020. I WAS INTERESTED IN BUYING THIS 2011 CAMARO FROM TS AUTO SALES IN ORLANDO FLORIDA. THE SALESMAN NAME IS [XXX]. I ASKED HIM IF THERE WAS ANY EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE? HE SAID THE DRIVER SIDE WAS HIT AND IT WAS REPLACED. I ASKED HIM IF THERE WAS ANYTHING ELSE? HE SAID NO. AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I LATER FOUND OUT, THAT HE WAS NOT BEING TRUTHFUL WITH ME. I LOOKED THE VEHICLE UP, AND FOUND THAT THE AIR BAGS HAD BEEN DEPLOYED. WHICH IS A MAJOR SAFETY VIOLATION. I ALSO ASKED HIM WHY THE BATTERY WAS BEING DRAINED. HE SAID IT JUST NEED TO BE CHARGED. I TOOK THE CAR TO A STEVE'S AUTO ELECTRIC IN CLERMONT FLORIDA. THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THAT THE AIR BAGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AT THE COST OF $3,500. THIS IS A REBUILD ABLE TITLE. YOU CAN NOT GET THIS VEHICLE INSPECTED IF ALL OF THE REPAIRS ARE NOT DONE, AND YOU MUST HAVE RECEIPTS FOR EVERY PART THAT WAS REPAIRED, OR REPLACED. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE VEHICLE. TO MY UNDERSTANDING. IT'S THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEALERSHIP TO MAKE ANY MAJOR REPAIRS BEFORE SELLING A VEHICLE. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO PLATINUM CHEVROLET (3001 CORBY AVE, SANTA ROSA, CA 95407) WHERE HE INFORMED THE DEALER OF THE SEAT BELT RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THEY COULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE DATABASE NOT HAVING INFORMATION ON A VEHICLE OF THAT AGE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS THEN NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER THEN NOTIFIED THE CONTACT THAT DUE TO THE AGE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE INABILITY TO LOCATE THE RECALL, THEY DENIED HIS RECALL CLAIM. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. TAKATA RECALL, I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY CITY STREET WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I BELIEVE IT WAS A POT HOLE OR JUST UNEVEN GRAVEL LEADING MY KNEE HIT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND IN THAT SECOND I HAD NO CONTROL OR CONTROL OF WHAT HAPPENED NEXT. I COULD NOT BRAKE, MY SEAT BELT LOCKED ON ME HURTING MY COLLAR BONE, THEN MY WHEEL WAS SO HARD TO TURN I WAS USING BOTH HANDS AGGRESSIVELY TO TURN AS HARD AS I CAN JUST SO I WOULDN'T HIT A BUILDING OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO OTHERS AND AS I WAS STERLING I WOULD KEEP PRESSING THE BRAKES AND THEY WERE JUST LOCKED. I HAD TO HIT A BARRIER OF WOOD TO STOP MY CAR. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AS WELL WHICH WAS VERY SCARY. I HAD NO CONTROL OF MY CAR FOR THE FIRST TIME AND IT WAS NOT MY FAULT, THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED AND I KNOW IT'S BECAUSE OF THE KEY BEING BUMPED. MY RECALL # 14V346000 ACCIDENTAL BUMPING OF KEY IGNITION. I HAD NO IDEA THIS CAR HAD A RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT INFORM ME EITHER. I AM NOW CAR -LESS AND HOPING TO GET SOMEWHAT TAKEN CARE OF BECAUSE IT WAS UNSAFE AND I DON'T WISH THIS ON ANYONE. VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE.
