VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

On Sunday, April 12, 2026, at approximately 5:00 PM, I experienced a sudden and complete engine failure while driving my 2019 Chevy Silverado equipped with the 6.2L V8 engine. Without warning, the vehicle lost all ability to accelerate, creating an immediate and dangerous situation for myself, my family, and surrounding drivers. I was forced to rely on the vehicle’s remaining momentum to maneuver to the side of the road, all while other drivers honked as I attempted to merge with no engine power. This incident caused significant stress and posed a serious safety risk. My vehicle had to be towed home and then to [XXX] Casa Chevrolet at [XXX] . After inspection, the dealership informed me that the engine requires a full rebuild, despite the vehicle having only 115,697 miles. According to the dealership, the engine shows **no compression on all cylinders**, **crankshaft and camshaft compression failure**, **pistons coated in oil and fuel with visible damage**, and a **non‑functioning timing chain likely due to a broken guide**. These findings mirror the exact symptoms currently under investigation in GM’s **EA25007** inquiry involving the 6.2L V8 (L87) engines in 2021–2025 GM trucks and SUVs GM has already issued a major recall affecting nearly **600,000 vehicles** due to defective connecting rods and crankshafts that can cause sudden engine failure, stalling, and potential fire hazards. Although my 2019 Silverado is not included in the recall, it is experiencing the same catastrophic engine failure associated with the defective components identified in the investigation. The dealership has quoted me $10,000 for an engine rebuild and has refused to assist with the cost. I have also filed a complaint directly with GM, as this failure presents the same safety risks and mechanical defects acknowledged in the recalled models. This sudden engine failure placed my family and other motorists in immediate danger, and the lack of w INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I have a 2019 Chevrolet High Country, have always kept it serviced and maintained. Driving down the road it randomly lost power, wouldn't let me (driver) give gas, started shaking and making loud clanking noise from the engine. Was able to pull over to the side of the road, recorded the noise it was making. Called a tow company to get it towed to the nearest Chevrolet Dealer ship and they confirmed that the engine was no longer good. Related problem to the 6.2l motor issues. They are requested for a New motor.

My 2019 Chevrolet Silverado has experienced repeated engine issues, including a confirmed timing chain failure. The vehicle has been taken in for repairs approximately 6–7 times for the same or related engine problems. Most concerning, the vehicle has stalled while driving, creating a serious safety hazard. Loss of power while in motion puts me and others at risk of an accident. Despite multiple repair attempts, the issue has not been permanently resolved. The timing chain failure is a major engine defect and not expected for a vehicle of this age and mileage. I am filing this complaint due to the safety risk associated with engine stalling and failure.

The vehicle was shifting hard and eratically on the highway. All dashboard lights came on including the ESC failure warning. A misfire in cylinder 2 occurred without any warning lights causing the vehicle engine to stop running on a highway. The mechanic repair shop did a disgnostic evaluation and reported a catastrophic engine failure from cylinder 2. The engine does not run and requires full replacement. The vehicle has only 80,000 miles.

When pulling off or slowing down, there's hesitation, jerking, and kicking or slamming going in or out of gear. Was passing a vehicle one day and it started going, then lost acceleration. I put it to the floor, still no acceleration. My Abs/Traction light came on, the rear end started like bouncing, or something with traction. As I pulled over, the abs/traction light went off. A few times we complained about it, they looked at it, but said they couldn't find nothing wrong with it. It's still happening and it is dangerous. I have a 17 yr old Autistic son, I drive him everyday to school, almost 4 hrs a day. We bought the truck cause we needed something reliable. But now that our warranty is up we can't afford to get it fixed. They made sure to let us know about our warranty was out. But at the time they looked at it, we had warranty. But when it came to get it looked at it would take days, and we needed a rental but they never had one, so we would have to wait till they had an opening. Please help thanks [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I TOOK IT TUESDAY 12/17/19 IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT 4K MILES TO GET UNDER 7K SERVICE. FOR MY 2019 HIGH COUNTRY. AS I WAS NOTIFIED I WAS DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE. I LOOKED ON ONSTAR. SAW THERE WAS A RECALL AND FIGURED THEY COULD TWO THINGS AT ONCE. COME TO FIND OUT THERE WERE THREE RECALLS. WHICH I GET IT, THINGS HAPPEN. I GET IT HOME TUESDAY NIGHT NO ISSUES. THURSDAY 12/19/19 AROUND 6 PM, AS I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND IT WOULDN'T STOP. I HAD TO STAND ON THE BRAKES. I AM 6'2' AND 300 LBS. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND AGAIN, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EASILY STOPPING. I HAD NUMEROUS DASHBOARD DISPLAYS. I TOOK PICTURES OF THE DISPLAYED ITEMS. I CALLED RICK HENDRICK CHEVROLET AT 6:53 PM ON 12/19/19 AND SINCE I LIVE CLOSE DROPPED IT OFF AT THE DEALER, AS I WAS HEADED OUT OF TOWN SUNDAY AND WANTED THIS FIXED. SO.... HERE COMES THE ISSUE BESIDES IT NOT STOPPING THAT I AM EVEN MORE FIRED UP ABOUT! THE SERVICE GUY, CALLED ME FRIDAY MORNING TO SAY THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. NOW, WITH THE DISPLAY SAYING SERVICE ESC, TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM, AND BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE NOT TO GO ABOVE 62 MPH, I AM PRETTY SURE IT TRIGGERED AN CODE AND WOULD BE IN CODE HISTORY. I TOLD HIM I HAD PICTURES OF THE DASH DISPLAY AND THAT THEY NEEDED TO CHECK THE CODE HISTORY. HE TOLD ME AT ONE POINT IT WAS THE VACUUM, BUT THEN TOLD ME THAT THE VACUUM WAS AN ISSUE WITH LAST YEARS MODEL. AND THAT HE WAS HAVING HIS MASTER TECHNICIAN LOOK AT IT. AROUND 4 PM ON FRIDAY, WITH A FAMILY TRIP COMING UP SUNDAY 12/22/19 AND NOT HEARING ANYTHING I CALLED A FEW TIMES TO FIND OUT IF I NEEDED TO RENT A CAR OR THEY COULD GET ME A LOANER. I GOT A CALL AROUND 5:13 PM ON 12/19/19 TELLING ME IT'S READY AND THEY REINSTALLED THE SOFTWARE AND THE MASTER TECHNICIAN DROVE IT. SAID HE IS COMFORTABLE. I WAS SCARED THEN AND SCARED NOW TO PUT THEM BACK IN THAT VEHICLE.

STARTED VEHICLE UP FROM A PARKING LOT, PROCEEDED TO INTERSECTION. WENT TO HIT MY BRAKES FOR THE RED LIGHT. AND WARNING LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING. I HAD ABOUT 10% OF BRAKES AT THIS POINT. COULD NOT STOP FOR RED LIGHT, BUT WAS ABLE TO STEER TO THE RIGHT, PARALLEL WITH THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC TO AVOID A SERIOUS COLLISION. THE TRUCK IS SETTING AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW. AND I'M BEING TOLD THAT PARTS ARE BACK ORDERED.

THE MOST RECENT ISSUE OCCURRED ON OR ABOUT 11/15/2019 WHEN TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MILE PER HOUR, THE VEHICLE HAD AN ENGINE LOST OF POWER. POWER REDUCED IMMEDIATELY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN WHEN MOVING IN THE 2 LANE ON A HIGHWAY INCLINE. INCIDENT ALMOST CAUSED A FATAL ACCIDENT. PREVIOUS LOST OF POWER ISSUE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND I WAS ADVISED THAT IT WAS A THROTTLE BODY COMPONENT THAT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY SERVICE TOO. ON OR ABOUT SEPTEMBER 14, 2019, THE VEHICLE LOST BRAKE FUNCTION WHEN EXITING OUT OF A SHOPPING CENTER ONTO A MAIN STREET. THIS TOO ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AS THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP DESPITE USING THE EMERGENCY POWER BRAKE. ALL INCIDENTS HAD MY CHILDREN PRESENT.
