While driving with my trailer my Tailgate opened by itself and hit my trailer when backing up. There is a open recall for a faulty switch that may allow the Tailgate to open unexpectedly. I called my dealer and said they could only replace the faulty switch and not my damaged tailgate. It was due to the faulty switch that led to my Tailgate getting damaged. I believe this switch and my Tailgate need to replaced.

Was taking an exit car felt like lose control and got hit with the sign pole on the exit. I have been complaining for the safety reasons and the location and other issues in car to onstar and Chevy for months. Went to Freeport Chevy dealer and changed oil, when I bought the car pre-approved but the when I went for the service they said no oil was changed since the car was new. And I have been paying for all the warranty and extended service but they said all oil change and others will cost approx $3200. They changed the oil but I have been seeing on the Chevy app filter was never changed and the car didn’t feel same after the service.

Safety Concern and Costly Repair – 2022 Chevy Silverado Rear Window Leak. I am writing to raise a serious concern regarding a known defect in the 2022 Chevy Silverado involving the sliding rear window. The window is prone to leaking, and in my case, every time it rained or I went through a car wash, the headliner above the rear seats became saturated. Upon consulting with the dealership, I was informed that this is a documented issue and that a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has been issued. They advised immediate repair due to the risk of water intrusion damaging the electrical wiring associated with the airbag system. This poses a significant safety hazard, as compromised wiring could result in airbag malfunction or failure to deploy during an accident. Despite this being a known manufacturing or design flaw, I was charged over $800 for the necessary repair. Given the potential impact on critical safety features, this issue warrants urgent attention and accountability. It is deeply concerning that such a defect could jeopardize passenger safety and yet result in a substantial out-of-pocket expense for the owner. I strongly urge a review of this matter and consideration for reimbursement or broader corrective action to ensure customer safety and trust.

While driving my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, the vehicle suddenly veered to the right without any driver input, ultimately crashing into a concrete guardrail. At the time of the incident, I was merging into the left lane with my turn signal activated and traveling below the posted speed limit. According to the statement provided to my insurance company—and based on my direct experience—the truck appeared to take control of itself, and I could not prevent it from veering off the road. The impact caused significant front-end damage and triggered the deployment of the airbags. It is important to note that the lane keep assist feature was turned off at the time of the crash—we do not use or rely on this feature. Therefore, the event cannot be attributed to any automated steering correction system. The airbag deployment resulted in serious injuries to the front-seat passenger, who sustained severe burns and blistering to the right arm and hand. The injuries were substantial and are documented in photographs, which can be provided upon request. A VIN search confirmed that this vehicle has no active recalls. However, the circumstances of this crash suggest a potential malfunction in the electronic steering assist, throttle control, or transmission system. After the crash, the vehicle was towed to my insurance company’s preferred collision repair shop. However, I have not authorized any repairs or inspections. I specifically instructed the shop to delay all work until after I file this safety complaint and have the opportunity to request a third-party inspection. The vehicle remains in its post-crash condition, and to the best of my knowledge, the Event Data Recorder (EDR) has not been altered and should still contain valuable diagnostic data. I respectfully request that this incident be investigated as a potential vehicle safety defect. I am providing photographic evidence of the crash damage and resulting injuries.

The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the tailgate would occasionally raise and lower independently even though the tailgate switch was not depressed. No warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not included. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

I purchased this car on 7/15/24 and had no problems until 8/8/24 after I took my car through an automatic touchless car wash. Upon exiting the car wash, I noticed that the tailgate was now down even though I never unlocked it. I parked the car and closed the tailgate and began driving home. Halfway home, the tailgate opened again on its on. The bed was empty so I continued driving home and then closed it again. Later that night, I went out to take the garbage cans out to the street and again noticed the tailgate was down. I again closed it. The next morning, I went to go to work and the tailgate was again down. This would be a serious safety issue if I had items in the bed of my truck and the tailgate opened while driving. I searched this issue online and found that there are recalls for this exact issue in other trims of this truck but the recalls don't cover my trim. I took it to the dealer where I purchased it and they are looking into fixing it. I want you to know that this is an issue as well for this trim.

I HAVE A FLEX TAIL GATE WHICH IS ALL ELECTRONIC. THE TAILGATE WILL NOT STAY UP , IT KEEPS ON FALLING AND UNLOCKING FOR NO REASON. BUTTON THE TAILGATE LEVER DOES NOT WORK. TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP IN JULY AND THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART. IT IS ALMOST DEC AND STILL NOT HEAR. THE TAILGATE FELL IN MY GARAGE AND I DID NOT KNOW IT WHEN I PUT THE DOOR UP IT SCRATCHED MY TAIL GATE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD BEFORE THIS ISSUE AND MY TAILGATE FELL AND I HAD ALL MY WORK SUPPLIES IN THE BACK. SOMEBODY HONKED THE HORN AND TOLD ME. IF THEY DIDN'T THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR ACCIDENT WITH ALL MY SUPPLIES FALLING OUT OF THE BACK. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE.. I HAVE READ ABOUT IT ON THE CHEVY WEBSITE AND THEY SAID THEY HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE SWITCH ON THE CHEVY FLEX GATE FROM 2019-2022. THEY SAID THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR 2023.

There is a small front body part known as the "moustaches" next to the headlights on either side of the vehicle. We have had this vehicle for less than 2 years and both the driver's side and passenger side "moustaches" have come loose on this truck and flown off while driving at highway speeds. Prior to flying off they get caught up on the tires and could cause a catastrophic blow-out of the steering tires. There is also the hazard of the body part flying off into traffic and causing damage or injuries to other drivers or pedestrians. This appears to be an engineering error and they have corrected it on later models by replacing the two small pieces with one wraparound piece. I believe this is an unsafe condition specific to this model year and should be considered for a possible safety recall.
