2007 Chevrolet Tahoe at 900 miles Morristown, TN

TIRES

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe equipped with Mavis Tires, Tire Line: Mavis A/S HT, Tire Size: 255/70/R18, DOT Number: 1TB Y1PA5C 1322. The contact purchased the tires at a Mavis Tire Shop while on vacation. While driving the vehicle back to the residence, the vehicle was shaking abnormally rough at highway speeds. The vehicle was taken to a tire shop where the tires were placed on a wheel balance machine, and the contact became aware that all four tires had a bulge on the sidewalls. The Tire Shop discovered that the DOT number dates on each tire were dated differently than the paperwork provided at the Mavis Tire retailer and that the dates had been falsified for each tire. The tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 900.

LT275 65 R18 123/120 R DOT 1 BE BP AT 21 My daughter has pictures of the tires, all four tires (all bought at the same time) 05/6/23 from Discount Tire, are splitting along the side wall, originating at the tread line, we have talked with Discount tire, there are 40,000 miles approximately on the tires. They have been appropriately rotated and balanced. There have been no repairs of the tires. This is noted to be a defect, not normal wear and tear of the tire, per Discount Tire. They have offered 423.00 credit to purchase new, and have come back with 50% off new tires. Since this is a defect, verse actual wear and tear I do not believe that is appropriate. 75-100% of the replacement value. The tires should reasonably last between 5-6 years. The defect increases the risk of a blow out on any one or several of the tires. Discount Tire in Lubbock has confirmed that there is an issue, but I am not happy with their resolution.

2022 Chevrolet Tahoe Ramona, CA Crash

TIRES

The tires seemed to lose their tackiness at 44k miles. With tread life being around 48% they were deemed insufficient and needing replaced by the tire shop during an inspection. A solo accident where the vehicle lost control in wet weather warranted an inspection. The tires had even wear for the most part, but were showing cracking around the sidewall. The tires were only 2 years old and had 44k miles on them. The vehicle and tires were always parked in a garage and/or parking structure out of the sun/elements. With the same brand tires having an 80k mile limited warranty, this shouldn't have been an issue.

Cooper Discoverer All-Terrain LT265/70R17 123S All-Terrain Tire. Just purchased from Walmart Oct 31, 2024. This is the email I sent to Walmart Claims Service, Inc. First of all, the tires were installed in the wrong manner. The Tire Pressure Sensor Monitor (TPMS) was installed on all four tires. I was fraudulently told that the car battery was bad and that the TPMS were unable to be reset. My auto battery was only purchased 3 months ago and the best battery that can be purchased from NAPA for my vehicle. When I returned to the indicated store, I was given the same BS story about my car battery being bad without proof of defect. This was an obvious attempt to get me to purchase a replacement battery. Fortunately, I have my own device to reprogram the TPMS devises. I was able to reprogram the TPMS devices on all 4 tires without problem on the first try. This is clear evidence of bad faith dealing on the part of Walmart. The tire pressure is 80psi. at the maximum load rating of the tire. At the recommended pressure of 44psi the tires are too soft. The tire squishes and rolls when driving around moderate curves at the posted speed limit of the roadway. This causes an unsafe condition and very dangerous to trailer a pull along vehicle. These tires are UNSAFE!!!! And that is a fact that cannot be disproven. Walmart is totally responsible for any product liability as a result of any death or damage sustained. I am not interested in entertaining any comments about, "if you feel they are unsafe, then don't drive the vehicle". I didn't purchase new tires for my vehicle to sit in the driveway. These tires need to be replaced ASAP with an alternate viable option. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ At the recommended operating tire pressure of 44psi the sidewalls are not supportive enough to prevent the rear end from pulling to the side, slipping, and sliding. This is more prominent when going around moderate curves.

TIRES

Brand new tires installed on vehicle by Americas Tire store on 7/29/24. Received a phone call from our son 7/30/24 7pm of complete tire blow out on hwy. Lost control of vehicle but managed to pull off hwy where he proceeded to contact us as well as AAA. Took back in to Americas Tire said they would replace tire but had no explanation as to why this happened on a brand new tire. According to AAA a lot of tire manufacturers cutting corners producing defective tires.

2020 Chevrolet Tahoe Kansas City, MO Crash

TIRES

Brand new set of tires. Less than 100 miles on them. During a left turn at roughly 15-25 mph the entire tire separated from the rim on the rear passenger wheel. The tire is in a secure location and can be inspected if needed. This led to an accident. There were no warning indicators such as low pressure indicators. The low pressure indicator came on after the tire came off the rim. The car went from make a 90 degree turn to making a 45 degree turn and cause my SUV to smash into a house. Tire size was 285/45/R22.

2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Santa Rosa Beach, FL

TIRES

Tire is torn in the sidewall at the bead inside the rim edge. The tire had less than 10,000 miles on it and was installed on March 14th 2023, failing around [XXX] (around 9 months of use). It had been installed on a set of Chevrolet wheels before arriving at the dealership and that tire/wheel combo was installed on the Tahoe by Chevrolet in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The tire failure appeared to occur without provocation and failed on a 2.1 mile drive from the store home. The tire on the rim was mostly covered by the edge of the rim and it was very hard to spot visually. There was no damage to the rim, nor any reason the tire might have been lacerated by the rim. Upon dismount for replacement, the damage appears to be a tear or rip and does not appear to be puncture damage. The tire was replaced at Chevrolet and they noted that there was no reason for the damage (and charging us for the failure). The tire was then shipped to Bridgestone and was returned to the Chevrolet dealer and it was explained that they said, "it happens". The only warning lamp that illuminated was the TPMS low pressure warning as the tire quickly deflated. I still have the tire in my possession for inspection. My safety was put at risk because the tear occurred during normal driving and without provocation. Luckily we were in the neighborhood and speed was 25 mph. Had this happened on the interstate, the outcome could have been quite different. This was a Bridgestone Alenza A/S 02 275/50R22 111H M+S dated 5022. Thank you! P265/65R18 Michelin Tires: I bought the vehicle last Fall and it had these tires. I am not sure when they were purchased, but they seem to be in good condition with plenty of tread left. However, these tires are dangerous in winter conditions. They do not grip on snow and they are absolutely dangerous if there is any ice on the roads. I have driven in Minnesota and North Dakota since I got my driver's license and these tires are probably the most dangerous tires I've ever had. This morning (10/31/2023) we had just a little bit of frozen sleet on the roads from last night and it shouldn't have impacted my driving much, but going over 35mph caused slipping and loss of traction. My 2WD Pontiac sedan has much older, more worn tires and handles ice better than my 4WD Chevrolet Tahoe with these tires. I am emailing you so that you are aware that there is a potential issue with these tires. I have already contacted the manufacturer of these tires.

While the vehicle was in for routine service, the tire was examined by the mechanic who discovered the cause of the failure was due to multiple pin holes in the tire. 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe Casa Grande, AZ

I bought Achilles desert hawk uhp 285/50/R20 tires in late 2019 from Walmart . and had them mounted in 2020 from discount tire. Within 10 months of tires being mounted I had a vibration and it was getting worse every day so I started looking at it and found I had a separated tire on the driver's side front. I put my spare on and contacted Walmart which told me sorry for your luck and there is nothing they can or will do.so I contacted discount and they said to contact Achilles tire. I did and never heard back from them. I then forgot about it until roughly 5 months ago when passenger tire was separated. Then 3 days ago the passanger rear separated and now today the driver's rear has separated. I understand 1 tire possibly 2, but to have all 4 tires separate in less than 2 years and in under 10,000 miles is mind blowing to me..I have all the tires and I filed a complaint with Walmart and Achilles after the 2nd one. I honestly don't think it's discount tires responsibly. I only had them install tires because walmart would make excuse after excuse and I got fed up with it. There should be some sort of liability to the manufacturer and to Walmart. I am asking you if it's possible to look into this. 4 tires separate in 2 years you ée⁷⁷e77⁷e⁷
