2014 Ford Focus Binghamton, NY

TIRES

Had brakes and rotors replaced 4/07/2025 and both repair shops indicated that the front passenger tire is bulging but they state also that these are not in warranty since they were only purchased 11/8/2023 and are an 85,000 mile rated tire which I purchased all new, with balancing and alignment at time of purchase. Mavis where I purchased them refuses to fix this problem stating they aren't in warranty any further which I don't see how when I definitely didn't drive 85,000 miles in less than a year and a half. When looking up this tire it seems they're not easily available at this point either.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus equipped with Continental Tires, Tire Line: Control Contact Tour A/S Plus, Tire Size: 215/50/R15, DOT Number: (N/A). TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed but the brakes failed to stop the vehicle. The failure caused the vehicle to rear-end another vehicle. The contact sustained back injuries and scratches from the seat belt; however, medical attention was not yet received. A police report was filed. The contact then parked the vehicle in a parking lot, where it remained. The vehicle was not deemed totaled by the insurance company due to a lapse in insurance coverage. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact stated that prior to the failure, the vehicle lost motive power with the ABS, TPMS, and brake warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with transmission failure, and the ABS, TPMS, and brake sensors were faulty, causing the battery to drain rapidly. The dealer replaced the transmission and the sensors for the ABS, TPMS, and brakes; however, the failure recurred. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000.

NHTSA complaint #11433526 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2010 Ford Focus Piqua, OH

TIRES:SIDEWALL

Three out of four 215/45/r17 Douglas tires bought at Walmart in Piqua oho ended up with bubbles on the sidewall a week after the year from the day they were bought. one right after the other. When i went to have them replaced at a discounted price, i could not because i had to put a spare tire on (it is considerably smaller) causing the tread on one tire to be slightly uneven from the others. so this voided the warranty. Now tell me how passenger side and driver side front tires both end up with sidewall bubbles and one blows out within a week apart? Nothing changed in my driving routine. Bought two nearly new tires to maintain my ability to get around, and a third tire develops a bubble and had to be replaced. The last tire is slowly leaking!? i drive to work and back. I live less than 2 mins from my place of employment. i do still have my paperwork from buying the tires. btw the warranty was never registered correctly because when i tried to call about it they had no idea where to find it. i had to send all sorts of paperwork to them and still got no results.

THE REAR PASSENGER (SHOWN IN THE PHOTO) HAS YET TO BE REPLACED. THE FRONT SIDEWALL BUBBLE POSSIBLY WAS DUE TO SLIGHT ABRASION BUT SHOULD NOT HAVE OCCURED.

NHTSA complaint #10928736 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2005 Ford Focus at 35 miles Tallahassee, FL

TIRES

I BOUGHT MY CAR FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I HAD TO BUY A RE-FURBISHED MOTOR, THE TIRES WERE SPLITTING AND THE SUSPENSION AND AIR CONDITIONER ALL NEEDED REPAIRING. WHEN I RECEIVED THE RECALL FROM DOT, [XXX], I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED TALLAHASSEE FORD. THEY DENIED THERE WAS A RECALL AND I WAS MISTAKEN. MY VIN # WAS LISTED IN THE RECALL. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES BUT FORD KEPT GIVING ME A RUN-AROUND AND THEY LIED. SO NOW, I HAVE APPARENTLY MISSED A DEADLINE WHICH WAS NOT LISTED ON THE ORIGINAL NOTICE TO ME. I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN AND THIS HAS REALLY STRESSED ME OUT AND IT REALLY MAKES ME NOT TO PURCHASE ANOTHER FORD FROM ANYONE. ON ETHICS ALONE, I SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE THEM DO WHAT THEY BASICALLY REFUSED BY LYING TO ME. IT WAS IN MOTION AND WENT TO THE SHOP WITHIN TWO WEEKS AFTER THE NOTICE. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
