VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
This issue is pertaining to the valve body in my 10-speed transmission. While I was traveling home, the truck experienced a “wheel lockup”. The transmission shifted down aggressively, then putting the truck into limp mode. I had to travel the rest of the way home with a max speed of 35 mph. I have been without this truck for 3 months waiting on parts. This is absolutely unacceptable from gm. Extremely unsave.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and approaching a stop, the contact simultaneously depressed the brake pedal and accelerator pedal, causing the vehicle to move forward and to stop simultaneously. The contact stated that the pedals were significantly close to each other. The contact’s foot was sliding off the pedals. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, and the contact requested for an adjustment of the pedals. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 10.

First date was 04/23/2024 my truck went into limp mode with an alert reading engine and transmission control module problem. Brought it in and they reset the sensors. Shortly after the alert warning goes off again and I turn the engine off and start it back up. It cleared the alert, I brought it back in on 06/15/2024. They reset sensor and fixed a recall on tailgate. I picked up truck, drove it for 2 months and TCM warning came up and threw truck into limp mode while pulling a 2 horse trailer. It turned a 3 hr drive into a 6 hr drive. I brought back to dealer on 8/19/2024 they had it for 4 days and they notified me that this is an on going problem. It is a transmission solenoid valve stuck open and they ordered the part and told me it could be months before the part gets here due to the ongoing backorder from all the other trucks that have the same problem. I use this truck for work and leisure to pull my boat and 2 horse trailer and now I have a vehicle payment to make and no vehicle to use. I cannot use it to work or anything else because it is at the dealer for an unspecified amount of time. I have read online that this is a major problem with this truck and GMC as well as the dealerships know about this problem and they still sold it to me. There are so many complaints online about this GMC 2500 AT4 truck problem that GMC should stop selling this truck.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated while stopped at an intersection, the vehicle moved forward while the brake pedal was fully depressed. The contact also stated on a level surface, the vehicle accelerated about 4 MPH without the accelerator pedal being depressed. The failure occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was duplicated; however, the dealer stated that the vehicle operated as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100.

On or about [XXX], the Transmission Control Module, FAILED, on my 2011GMC Denali 2500 6.6 diesel. It was a KNOWN faulty part .General Motors was aware of the issue years ago. This part should have been deemed a Safety Recall item. Imagine, pulling a trailer down a busy Freeway, with Semi's presence. Module goes out, truck goes idle, people hurt or worse. Failed TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (24256861). While driving in the early morning hours (darkness) taking my child to school, I was navigating through a busy intersection when the vehicle surged and then made a loud metal on metal sound, feeling as if someone had struck me from behind. At that point the power train became inoperable, stranding us and coming very close to being first, struck from behind and then from cross traffic. The vehicle was/has been inspected by a GM technician at Starling Chevrolet, St Cloud, FL and the TCM was found to have failed (trouble code U0101, lost communication with TCM). It has been at the dealership for going on four months awaiting the production of a replacement part(TCM). There was no prior indication that the TCM was about to fail. Upon failure, all lights on the vehicle display flashed and the indicator for the vehicle drive position was lost (P, R, N, D), no longer visible.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
The Column Shifter that is installed on all 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HDs and 3500HDs poses a potential safety risk to its passengers and other drivers on the road. When the column shifter of the vehicle is in the standard drive position the shifter covers part of the screen and the direct path to the radio volume control dial and infotainment home button. It has been found and replicated that attempting to interact with the infotainment screen UI and the home button/volume control dial the driver may easily accidentally bump the shifter into the neutral position. Bumping this 8000lbs+ vehicle into neutral unintentionally can be extremely dangerous to its passengers and fellow motorists especially when hauling a heavy trailer or load like heavy-duty pickup trucks are designed to do. Bumping the truck into neutral can allow the truck to lose its acceleration capabilities and degrade braking capabilities as the engine would be disconnected from the drive wheels, limiting engine braking and exhaust braking. This kind of braking is commonly used to help stop the truck with heavy trailers and loads. This problem has been commonly referred to in multiple Facebook groups relating to the 2024 GMC Heavy Duty Truck. I personally have not had it inspected by any third party as there is not much they can do to remedy the issue. I personally recommend that General Motors redesign the column shifter in these trucks shortening it to come no further than the diameter of the steering wheel eliminating any interference with the infotainment system and the home button/volume dial. GM shall replace this updated shifter free of charge in all trucks just recently built. For GM's sake, it is important that this issue is remedied ASAP as the truck just began production and there is a limited amount on the road. This is available for inspection upon request.

There is an issue that is causing the batteries to die. This in return causes the Vehicle to go into Limp home mode with no warning. The "issue" was supposed to be resolved by the Dealer in March 2022. The resolution was that one battery was bad. The vehicle is equipped with two batteries. Each of which is sufficient to run the vehicle. A single battery failure should not have caused the truck to have a power limitation. Furthermore the issue was not resolved and General Motors and the Local dealership refuse to continue to work on the issue. This is even after filling complaints with BBB. As of November 2022 the issue has cause both batteries to go bad. The dealer has refused to work on the vehicle and it has been out of service for more than 30 days. Secondary issue. The dealer has refused to work on the vehicle but computer is locked by GM so that only GM equipment can see full scope of codes. This means I can not have third parties work on the vehicle. This is can get the vehicle stuck in areas where there is not GM facilities and GM will not provide any assistance as it is not under warranty. This has also prevented me from finding the actual resolution to the problem.

While driving Truck was setting Cruise Control at approx 100km/hr. The cruise would set but at approx 70km/hr. Tried to set multiple time throughout the trip but no change. Recorded video and sent to dealer. They brought truck in to check it out, but said that since they can't duplicate the problem they cannot diagnose it. This has happened multiple times and have recorded video each time. Again dealer said they can't do anything unless they see it themselves.

I have a 2013 GMC Sierra, purchased new in 2012, has approximately 35,000 miles. The check engine light came on while driving and suddenly another light came on. Then a third light came on claiming poor engine fluid quality. I immediately stopped at an auto parts store and put DEF fluid in the pickup and continued to drive thinking the lights would go out, but instead a warning was flashing on the dash that says after so many miles the truck will be slowed down. We started getting nervous because we were driving on the highway and if the truck suddenly slows down whilst driving in highspeed traffic, our slower vehicle would potentially cause a collision and put us and others in harms way. In reading your own safety site, there is a recall on the vehicle regarding faulty airbags, so it could be even worse! In our investigations of our current issue, we have found that there was a lawsuit from 2019 against GM and their faulty fuel system with their trucks. See link here https://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/general-motors/2019/08/07/lawsuit-says-gm-sold-trucks-not-compatible-american-diesel-fuel/1943084001/ many people on many different forums have also complained about this same problem with no fixes, the only suggestions are to remove the emissions parts and refab the motor. GM tells them that they need to only use their specific DEF fluid, which is steering. GM is very well aware of the problems, because they have employees following these forums and commenting on them.(Dieselplace.com) The truck can be made available for you to see/inspect and I refuse to drive the truck until this issue is resolved.

Break lights activate by them selves. Can be driving, parked, vehicle off. Parked and locked. The break lights activate randomly. Most recently car was parked in drivevway over the coarse of 2 days. Break lights came on and off until batteries were dead. When parked I Can hear clicking noise coming from under the hood periodically, not sure if related or not. Also noticed cruise control will shut its self off some times.

COMPLAINT INVOLVES REDUCED POWER MODE WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS BECOME A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE OF THE RAPID DROP IN SPEED WHILE DRIVING. IT IS UNSAFE TRYING TO EXIT TRAFFIC LANES WITH NO RESPONSE FROM THROTTLE PEDAL AND APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH DRIVE BY WIRE VEHICLES PRODUCED BY GENERAL MOTORS. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO DEALERSHIP TWICE WITH NO RESOLUTION OF THE PROBLEM. THIS FAILURE HAS OCCURRED AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, TIMES OF DAY, TEMPERATURES ETC. IT WILL ENTER REDUCED POWER ONCE TO TWICE A DAY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

TRAVELING I-81 S IN MARYLAND, APPROXIMATELY MILE 290, ACCELERATOR STUCK IN FULL THROTTLE. I HAD ACCELERATED TO PASS A CAR, BUT THE ACCELERATOR WENT TO FULL THROTTLE, AND STUCK ON FULL ACCELERATION. I STAYED IN THE LEFT LANE, APPLIED BRAKES SPORADICALLY TO LIMIT THE INCREASED SPEED, AND QUICKLY HIT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WITH MY FOOT AND IMMEDIATELY RELEASED SEVERAL TIMES TO TRY TO "BREAK" THE ACCELERATOR FREE. I DID THIS MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NO RESULTS UNTIL FINALLY, WHEN WE WERE AT 94 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR BROKE FREE, AND DISENGAGED. THE BRAKES SMELLED STRONGLY FROM THE EFFORTS TO RETAIN THE ACCELERATION. THE TRUCK HAD APPROXIMATELY 2,300 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I HAD PLANNED TO PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL AND MOVE OFF THE ROAD BEFORE WE HIT 100 MPH. IF MY HUSBAND HAD BEEN DRIVING, HE MIGHT HAVE TURNED OFF THE CAR AND LOST CONTROL (DUE TO LOSS OF POWER). THIS WAS EXTREMELY TROUBLING, AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THANKFULLY, TRAFFIC WAS LIMITED ENOUGH NOT TO CAUSE A WORSE OUTCOME. I CONTACTED MY DEALER AND THE DEALER WHERE I WAS TRAVELING TO.

MY 2017 GMC 2500 SIERRA DENALI DURAMAX HAS HAD THIS THROTTLE ISSUE, IT SEEMS TO ONLY DO IT WHEN THE EXHAUST STINKS, AND AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 5 - 55 MPH. IF I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR THE TRUCK MAINTAINS RPM (1200 - 1400) OR EVEN HAS INCREASED SOME AND HAS LASTED 2 - 5 SECONDS (ESTIMATED AND GREATLY REDUCES THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE BRAKING CAPACITY AND RESPONSIVENESS/STOPPING DISTANCE). WORST WAS WITH A HUGE TRAILER BEHIND AND I GOT UP TO SPEED 55 ON COUNTY HWY 8, AND I LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND IT KEPT GOING HARD AND I GOT ON THE BRAKES AND I COULDN'T SLOW IT DOWN UNTIL THE TRUCK DECIDED TO RELEASE OFF THE THROTTLE.(TWO WITNESSES IN THE VEHICLE, ONE A GM TECH, STATING YOUR VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT) IT'S HAPPENED ABOUT 25 TIMES IN 5700 MILES IN VARIOUS SETTINGS & SPEEDS AND HAS OCCURRED FREQUENTLY IN TOWN AT SPEEDS OF 25 - 35 MPH. THERE MAYBE SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES IN BETWEEN EPISODES IF YOU WILL, AS THEY OCCUR IN CLUSTERS WHEN EXHAUST STINKS AND GONE WHEN EXHAUST DOES NOT STINK. TRUCK ALSO HAD TORQUE CONVERTER NOT UNLOCK AND [XXX] NEAR CHOKED THE ENGINE OFF AT STOP SIGN RIGHT AFTER A THROTTLE STUCK CONDITION. GOT HOME THE OTHER NIGHT AND FUEL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING! BACK UP CAMERA IS DAYLIGHT BRIGHT AT NIGHT, LOW COOLANT ISSUES, MAP SENSOR ISSUE, ENGINE SURGED THE OTHER DAY, WHAT NEXT? IT'S CONSTANTLY BEEN AT DEALERSHIPS WITH NO ANSWERS. MY WIFE WON'T DRIVE IT ANYMORE AND WISHES I WOULDN'T EITHER FEARING IT WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND SHE'S PROBABLY RIGHT. GM HAS STATED THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY TRADE IN ASSISTANCE DOLLARS TO GET IT OFF THE ROAD AND THERE IS NO FIX. $70,000+ TRUCK, LIVES AT RISK AND NO SERIOUS RESPONSE FROM GM? VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
THE BIGGEST PROBLEM (OUT OF MANY) THAT MAKES THIS VEHICLE UNSAFE, STRESSFUL, AND DISCOMFORTING TO DRIVE IS HOW IT WILL RANDOMLY DECIDES TO RAISE THE IDLE TO 900+ RPM (IN GEAR) AND BASICALLY DRIVES IT'S SELF. DURING THIS CONDITION IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO OPERATE VEHICLE. BECAUSE OF ITS RANDOM PATTERN IT CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT THAT RESULTED IN $3500 IN BODY DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK. THANK GOD NO ONE WAS HURT. WEAR AND TEAR IS DRASTICALLY INCREASED AS THE VEHICLE IS TRYING TO DRIVE ON ITS OWN AS I'M TRYING TO STOP AT TRAFFIC LIGHT, STOP SIGNS, OR SIMPLY PARKING. DRIVE-TRAIN IS BANGING, BRAKES ARE WORKING HARDER, AND FUEL IS BEING WASTED. NOW, ADD A PAYLOAD OR TRAILER AS I OFTEN DO AND PROBLEMS ARE MAGNIFIED. ESSENTIALLY THE VEHICLE IS AGING AND WEARING ITS SELF OUT BEFORE ITS TIME. I HAVE BEEN ORDERED BY PIMA COUNTY COURT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE FIXED OR REPLACE. THE OFFICER THAT GAVE ME THE CITATION WITNESSED THE HIGH ENGINE IDLE AND AGREED THAT IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO STOP ESPECIALLY WITH A LOADED TRAILER AS I HAD THAT DAY. OFFICER ALSO TESTIFIED THIS IN COURT ON 11/4/2015. THERE IS A CURRENT LAW SUIT IN CALIFORNIA FOR THIS DEFECT. MY LOCAL DEALERS WILL NOT WORK ON VEHICLE ANYMORE DO LIABILITY AND TOLD ME TAKE IT UP WITH GM. GM HAS PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE.
