While driving under normal conditions on a dry road (no snow or ice), the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of braking performance while in motion. The vehicle was traveling approximately 10–15 mph and approaching an intersection with a red traffic light. A warning message appeared stating: “Brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer.” Immediately after this message, braking performance was significantly reduced. Multiple attempts to slow the vehicle using the brake pedal resulted in minimal deceleration. The stopping distance was much longer than expected for the speed and conditions. The vehicle only came to a stop after the brake pedal was pressed with full force. Shortly after the initial brake warning, multiple additional safety-related systems went offline, including collision avoidance and other braking-related driver assistance systems. Approximately five to six warning messages appeared, indicating a cascading failure of safety systems while the vehicle was still in motion. The driver was able to slowly maneuver the vehicle to the side of the road and park safely. No collision occurred. However, shortly before this incident, the vehicle had been driven on a highway. If the same failure had occurred at higher speeds or in traffic, it could have resulted in a serious crash or injury. The vehicle is relatively new (approximately two years old, low mileage) and has been routinely maintained. There were no prior warning signs before this event. The vehicle is currently available for inspection at a dealership. A preliminary dealer explanation suggested a possible low or discharged battery; however, the cause of the braking failure has not been clearly established. This incident involved loss of braking performance while the vehicle was in motion, presenting a significant safety risk.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The contact owns a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds with the Adaptive Cruise Control activated, the braking system erroneously activated, causing the vehicle to abruptly slow down and decelerate. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions with a second vehicle in next lane slowing down. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100.

Description of incident: Saturday, [XXX] I was in traffic on I [XXX] near the [XXX] exit in Indiana. It was a stop/go, stop/go event as 6 lanes were going down to 1 lane. I was behind a Kroger semi-truck. I had my foot on the brake. I thought the people next to me had started to move, but then I noticed that I was getting closer to the truck (while my foot was on the brake). I pushed the brakes down further. I felt normal resistance. Nothing happened. I hit the cancel button of the adaptive cruise multiple times on my steering wheel thinking that perhaps my adaptive cruise started my movement. I kept rolling. Kept hitting the brakes wondering why I didn't stop. No beeps went off like they normally do. I rolled into the truck. My adaptive cruise had been set to 70, and I had used it before the incident. It was still on standby, but not green. My odometer was around 9547. This happened around 9:50am. No beeping sounds started or emergency braking happened. I would approximate my speed of hitting around 3-5 mph. I hit the truck. I had tried to switch to neutral and then to park. I could not move the gear shaft. I was hitting the brake hold. Anything to make me stop. Nothing worked, and I hit the truck. I did not move after hitting the truck, maybe one of the things I attempted to do worked. My foot was still on the brake. I pulled over, turned off the car, and restarted it. I have not applied the adaptive cruise since then. I don't know if it had anything to do with the incident, but I'm afraid to use it. If I had been moving at a faster rate, my safety and others would have been at risk. I took the car to the dealership. They provided me with a Honda multi-point vehicle inspection checklist and stated that they couldn't find anything wrong. There is definitely something wrong. LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
October 10, 2024 at about 1200 hours, the entire dashboard display and the upper center console display unexpectedly went black with no visible readout after having drivin 1-1/2 hours on the highway. Pulling off the road, we were able to reset the brightness to maximum and just able to see the readout. This event continued to be repeated several times during the course of the day. We had less than 9000 miles on the odometer at the time. I have checked the fuses, battery, and battery connections-all are in order. This event again repeated itself two weeks later on our return trip. In addition, the fuel gage has failed to fully up date on the display after being reset at the pump. I'm concerned about the possibility of the computer being the problem. We have less than 12,000 miles on the CRV Hybrid. The danger to us and others is that we had no idea of our speed, fuel amount, safety warnings, turn signals, nor what other safeguards were not working. The car is available for inspection upon request. We felt that this safety issue was serious enough to report it nationally before taking it to the dealers, which we will now do along with the other safety recalls on it. At this time, it has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance representatives. Upon completing our first aforementioned long trip, we have not seen the electrical problem repeat within the short distance we drive. Possibly related, the Lane Departure Warning has been activated for no apparent reaason.

No damage was done to it but I had an estimate of $2000.00 to mine since it was on the hatch back door. I didn't report it because I thought it was my fault. But on Friday Nov. 29, 2024 as I was parallel parking I reversed into the spot and straighten out my vehicle. I put it into gear and started moving forward about six feet slowly. When I went to apply the brakes nothing happened again and I hit my wife’s car in front of me. The CR-V Owners Club has reported a similar incident.

EPS Rack is still not fixed. My dealer keeps telling me no parts when clearly they have them because I know of other people who have gotten theirs fixed. I was told next oil change we will fix it. NEVER HAPPENED. This car is not safe to drive. It veers all over the road and is a chore to drive. Dealership does not care. Honda does not care. Unbelievable.

Electronic Power Steering Rack in bad/defective. Will not return to center naturally. Diagnosed by Honda Dealership. I can no longer drive in a straight line. I'm constantly bouncing from line to line on the road. My tires are even wearing incorrectly because of this. They are so loud now. Currently it's not a safety risk but the more I drive it the worse it gets. It will eventually become a safety risk! Yes, the problem has been reproduced by the dealer. I have been told part has been on order and is critical backordered with NO ETA. The also preformed an alignment check and a multi point inspection. No warning lights or messages. I found this problem just by driving my vehicle.

While driving down the interstate, I had automatic cruise control set at around 70-73 mph, there were few cars on the road and none in front of me. It was dark outside, and one a particular spot, road seemed to have a slight/gradual dip, while going thru this section, vehicle’s emergency braking started flashing and signaling to brake. There was no one in front of me, and it seems as if sensor malfunctioned/received a false positive indication. Luckily, there was no one behind me and I was able to take control of Car and speed it back up

It’s Honda CRV 2024 hybrid version and the reverse camera suddenly changes to black and white mode and sporadically changes back to colour mode.. Upon inquiring this with Honda, they claim the reason it to be Outdoor parking and sunny day as issue… I was not able to understand that either a sunny day and outdoor parking my damage the sensor and if it’s the case there were no solution to this yet.. Need to address the situation..

When my car is in cruise control it sometimes applies the brake when the car in front of me is taking an off ramp. Even when car is out of my lane the car might aggressively apply the brakes. Sometimes applies the brakes because a car in front of me changes lanes. It only does it if they go to a lane that is right of my car. I do not tailgate so I feel that this is dangerous as I drive on I-95 and the speed limit is 70 mph. This is a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport. Honda must correct this.
