Half of the failures with a mileage on record happened before

My Odyssey randomly began displaying all of the ADAS warning messages: The Brake System indicator light comes on, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Lane-Keeping Assist, Auto High Beam System error, etc. These came on beginning 7/25/26 and have come on everyday since causing the entire ADAS system to be inoperable. There have been a few days that they didn't come on immediately. I have had a few days where they came on half-way through my drive. This is a safety issue due to a defect in either the front camera or wiring to it, a nuisance, and something Honda needs to correct. It seems to be way too common of an issue according to my research. There hasn't been any damage to the van and no reason for these to come on. I have done research and see this has happened to many people. The replacement camera is costly as well as the calibration. Therefore, I haven't taken it to the dealership but I have discussed the issue with them. They agree that the camera is getting too hot and failing, which is causing the errors and of course all of those safety features fail simultaneously.

On 7/28/26, my 2018 Honda Odyssey began displaying the following warning lights and system messages on the dash: •Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system error •Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) error •Auto High Beam system error •Collision Mitigation Braking System / forward collision error These errors were present before I replaced the 12V battery. I had the battery tested at that time and it failed a load test, so I replaced it, expecting the ADAS-related errors to resolve. After the battery replacement, the original errors remained, and additional warning lights appeared, including a transmission system problem indicator and a brake system warning light. I disconnected the negative battery terminal for approximately 10 minutes in an attempt to reset the modules, then reconnected it. After reconnection and a period of idling, further warning lights appeared that had not been present immediately after the battery swap. I have not been in a collision, and there was no impact to the windshield, front bumper, or brake components at any point during this period. The vehicle’s brake pedal feel has remained normal. Because these errors were present before the battery was replaced, the battery does not appear to be the root cause, and the underlying issue affecting the ACC, LKAS, auto high beam, and collision mitigation systems remains unresolved. I have seen reports from other Honda owners describing similar cascading ADAS and system warning lights on comparable Honda models.

My car has started breaking randomly without reason. Just a few days ago it slammed on the brakes. I was driving on the interstate and went around a bend, and my car slammed on the breaks. I. Talking from 70- 5mph in seconds. I didn't have time to do anything. Nothing in front of me, nothing on the side. The car behind me had to swerve into the median to avoid hitting me. My car almost caused an accident. Im honestly afraid to drive it. Im not sure if the radar system is an issue in other Hondas, but if i was in an accident it would have been my fault. If the person behind me wasn't paying attention my children could have been seriously injured or worse. Please look into this issue. Its more dangerous than the other recalls.

While driving on a clear road, with or without heavy traffic, the collision mitigation warning shows up on the dashboard display. Sometimes the warning for the collision system goes off and the system tries to brake and jerk the wheel. If I have the wheel firmly I can correct it and it resolves. It can happen on a clear road with no one around or in heavy traffic. Yesterday it happened in a single lane with barriers on both sides, a road around Logan Airport in Boston, with no vehicles ahead of me. The car tried to steer me into the barrier. I was doing less than 25 MPH. The warning had been going off for a while but now that the steering and braking are involved it’s much more serious. I reported it to the dealer. They said they did a system check and couldn’t find a fault. The braking and steering problem first occurred about a month ago. The warning by itself has been happening intermittently for over a year. This happens even when the collision mitigation system is turned OFF. This is a terribly unsafe issue. If my wife had been driving I don’t know if she could have corrected. PLEASE ACT AND ISSUE A RECALL!

The automatic braking system beeped alert then applied brakes when I was going around a sharp curve, with cars behind me. Luckily they were far enough behind that they didn't hit me. This has been happening since I first got my Odyssey. I asked the Honda dealer about it if it was a defect and they said no that's how it work. I asked if I could turn it off permanently and they said no - I had to turn if off each time I turned on the car. Which I do most times but I forgot yesterday. I started turning it off regularly when it slammed on the brakes going around a curve some time ago bringing me to almost complete stop with car behind me. I probably should have reported earlier. I was in the car with a friend yesterday when it happened and she has a different model Honda and says it happens to her as well. I also am in a Odyssey Facebook forum and someone with a 23 Odyssey is experiencing it - I thought perhaps it was my year and they'd work out the kinks but it does not appear so. I was willing to give Honda a little grace on these early safety systems, but this looks to be an ongoing problem which is unacceptable. I'm going to look into a dashcam to record these incicdents. I asked the dealer because surely they would be able to see a log of when they automatic braking engaged? If not, they should.

Prior to purchasing this vehicle, On the test drive, the vehicle slammed on the brakes for no good reason. The dealer assured me the collision mitigation braking system (“CMBS”) can be turned off, so I bought the car. I then learned that the CMBS automatically turns on every time the engine is turned on. I must shut CMBS off each and every time I start the car, but since my other car is a Tesla (which doesn’t have this problem), sometimes I do forget to shut off CMBS. Through out my almost 7 years of ownership, the car has slammed on the brakes COUNTLESS numbers of times for absolutely no reason at all. Sometimes no cars are behind me, but there have been several times when cars behind me have almost crashed into me due to my faulty CMBS. My elderly mother is in need of a car and I refuse to let her borrow mine because I am scared she will forget to disable the CMBS and get into a crash. I am deeply astonished that with everything that is known about Honda’s CMBS, NHTSA has not taken any action against this dangerous feature. I wonder what NHTSA is getting paid to look the other way. A complete failure of an institution I used to hold in high regard.

2018 Honda Odyssey front camera failures. We bought it brand new and found out today that front multipurpose camera was not working properly. There are bunches of warning lights popped up on dashboard: LCC, LKAS… problems. See service Honda Service Bulletin 20-100 Dated 2-11-2021.The fuel Injectors part Number 16010 (6EA) has failed and my dashboard display , displays most of the sensors that means there is an actual problem, or a false reading. As a Honda owner, I cannot determine if it is an actual fault or a false reading. I had Rusty Wallace Honda dealer check the car using OBD device and the equipment indicates a code 219A, which indicates bad fuel injectors. Now after the check additional and different sensors are displayed with problems than were displayed prior to this check. The trouble shooting and after displaying the code 219A indicated a catastrophic failure. Rusty Wallace has verbalized the results and that I should continue driving the vehicle, that this would not damage the engine or the car. I am not a certified mechanic, but my younger days were devoted to back street work repairing and driving vehicles. Anytime that you starve or flood a cyclinder you had serious problems. I need this vehicle as a daily driver.

Just bought the car used with 60240 mi at the end of March on a Friday. 30 minutes after leaving the dealership the Auto Idle Stop warning notice appeared on the dash stating this feature was unavailable. It would not engage when idle at a light and as a result, when the gas was pressed to accelerate the car would hesitate and jerk into gear. This happened the entire 1.5-hour ride home, whether for a short pause or longer pause. It was a bit scary because the car would hesitate to move and clearly there were cars behind me. At any point and time, someone could've rear-ended me thinking I was able to accelerate properly. About 1 hour into the ride the brake lights came on flashing red at the bottom of the dash the entire time and would not go out. I immediately called the dealership once I reached my destination to announce the problem. The following Monday I took it back for a look over. In their investigation, they found a tracker attached under the dash and assumed this was interfering with the transmission of messages for the Auto Idle stop to engage. The dealer claimed there were codes, but after removing this attachment the auto idle stop feature engaged and they cleared all the codes. To my surprise, after 4-5 hours of being there, I drove home to find as I neared by destination all error codes returned including the brake lights flashing. I immediately called the dealer again and complained. This time to not further inconvenience me with the back and forth, they came and picked up the car on a Thursday with the intent of troubleshooting it over the course of some days. They had the car from a Thursday to the next Friday for me to arrive after them saying it was good, to find it was still doing it. This time the codes were reviewed with me in the car and the issue was "it was unlearned". After the reset, it started working again. Four days later it's still happening. Engages when it feels like it which causes a rough drive and acceleration. Honda help!
