Major warning lights appeared on dash. Vehicle began presenting messages stating to service vehicle systems. Power steering, traction control, and emergency braking were among those listed. Vehicle was at a 60% state of charge with 95% fuel. Engine ran, but other major vehicle systems would not engage. Attempted to reverse the vehicle to see if it would move and it accelerated abnormally fast in reverse. The vehicle stated hybrid mode and ready, but was not in an operable state. The issue persisted between restarts and idling sessions.

On February 10, 2025 at approximately 4:45 EST, I was driving approximately 55MPH in the far left lane of a multi-lane highway when I received a notice that my hybrid propulsion system had malfunctioned. Upon receiving the notice, I immediately lost power/propulsion of my vehicle although the warning notice disappeared and the screen made it appear that the vehicle was operating. As I pressed the gas pedal, I noted that there was no power being provided to the powertrain and I had to progressively move to the right to find a safe spot to stop. Upon stopping, the warning re-appeared and informed me to put the car in park and turn it off and restart the vehicle. At the time of failure, the battery had a remaining charge of 10% and 3/4 tank of gas. Upon restart, the vehicle functioned as normal using the gasoline powered engine. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety was put at risk due to the loss of power in an area where most vehicles were operating near 55 MPH. The computer warning about the malfunction was confusing and it disappeared relatively quickly leading to significant confusion about how to operate the vehicle especially given that the dashboard returned to a normal state. The problem has not yet been reported to a dealer as they were closed for service. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure other than the short warning that appeared at the start of the loss of power and referenced above.

I was driving in hybrid mode at approximately 50 mph gently accelerating up a gentle hill. All of a sudden, the vehicle lost a significant amount of its motive power and experienced a significant shudder. The power delivery to the vehicle was significantly reduced for 2-3 seconds, puting myself and family at significant risk. The red service hybrid system light lit up on the dashboard and blinked for approximately 5 seconds. The vehicle then returned to normal operation. I took the vehicle to the Jeep dealership the next day and they were not able to find any associated error codes or replicate the issue.

On 12/28/24 we dropped the vehicle off for a check engine light issue + the 95B recall fix. It was discharged on 12/31/24. On 1/9/25 the vehicle lost all power while flashing the red wrech lightning bolt symbol. I had to coast to a stop (I had been exiting the interstate) and had to drive into a pile of recently plowed snow to avoid being rear ended. The vehicle put on the parking brake and the engine had shut off. I turned on the engine after a few moments and it worked fine and I was able to drive it straight to the dealership (2 miles away.) They kept the vehicle for 2 days and could not get the issue to happen again, however they said they re-did the 95B recall and seemed confused about it having been done a few weeks prior. Today on 1/15/25 while driving on the interstate at about 65mph the issue happened again and I had to quickly pull off on the shoulder. The dealership told me to record the issue, but that's impossible while trying to steer it with zero power on the interstate. The same lights flashed (red wrench lightning bolt) and it shut down. Upon restarting it worked as expected. I do not feel safe driving it anymore. The dealership cannot find the issue and I don't want my kids in the vehicle on the off chance I cannot get over, or someone is driving offensivly around me. I am in fear of my life for driving this vehicle so much so that I am considering buying a different car today and letting this one sit until my lease is up. There are no other warning lights at this time on my panel. I will be taking the vehicle back to the service department this afternoon.

The vehicle has no heating, I’ve taken the vehicle multiple times to the dealership From September 2024 and to date January 2025, the vehicle has been in the dealership since December, multiple attempts has been made to fix the heating system including replacing parts one of them being a valve. Vehicle is still not working after replacement of parts, the engineering company called “Star Engineering” are involved at this point and they are still continuing to fix the car. The electrical component of this car is not working properly. This car is only 1 year old and it is a hybrid 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee purchased brand new. In 2023 after 2 weeks of leading this vehicle, the cars steering wheel froze and I was unable to drive it, I had to get the vehicle towed to the dealership. This is a major safety issue especially if you have children in the car, at the time I had my [XXX] in the vehicle, unable to drive it. Recently, temperatures have dropped significantly in November here in Massachusetts, and I had to drive with my toddler with no heat, in freezing temperatures and cover my child with a blanket. I was told by the dealership service staff that I needed to clean my car so the heat can work, after vacuuming my car I dropped it off again December and showed them for the 5th time that the car is blowing cold air, while the heating temperature is max and “hot”. In November, on a random day I arrived home and the car engine did not want to turn off after pressing the “off” button, we had to park the car far away from our home in fear that it will catch fire or start “having a mind of its own”, the vehicle decided to shut off on its own after an hour, I also shared this with the dealership. This car is not safe to have at all! Not safe to drive out in the cold or in the highway and NOT safe if you have children! Please do not buy any hybrid models from Jeep. 2024 Jeep grand cherokee 4xe Loss of power while driving. currently has about 4600 miles on it but having issues entire time of ownership. Also been experiencing very hard jerky shifting and a red wrench "service hybrid electric vehicle system" light coming on periodically. Loss of complete power while driving with the red wrench warning coming on and lost power steering and braking. vehicle would not start for about 20 minutes then started. Brought it in to local jeep dealer and they can't find any issues they said. please help

while driving this 4xe (hybrid) the vehicle thinks that it has been plugged in to charge and will momentarily shut down, no brake lights, no warning. ours has been in the shop for almost three months waiting for a fix. On three occasions we were told it was working as designed and sent down the road. Thankfully we were in no accidents but had seven close calls. it happens every time you drive it. The incident date is just a date, it happens every time you drive it.

The battery was recalled due to fire risk, but FSA indicated no repairs is available, and advised driver not to charge the car, and not to park it near any structural. I contacted (1) dealer (2) Chrysler capital (3) Jeep customer service. No body can provide any solution for this matter. I would like to have my leased car returned and get compensated for the months that I have already pre-paid (20 months left).

On 1/31/24, while merging onto a highway(approx 45 mph), I accelerated into the lane in front of a truck. As I pressed the gas pedal nothing happened. The engine did not rev and I did not accelerate. I swerved on to the shoulder and coasted for several hundred feet and came to a stop. I put the car in park, turned off the vehicle and restarted it. Operated normally after that. The second instance of loss of motive power was on 3/11/24. Turning right on a residential street (approx 15 mph), the car demonstrated the exact same issue. In both cases no warning lights or messages came up, and the 'fix' was the same. Starting approximately 6/15/24 the vehicle began displaying the message "Electric Mode Temporarily Unavailable" while driving. I would experience a loss of motive power temporarily, coast for 5-10 seconds, the vehicle would switch to 'gas mode' and the combustion engine would take over.This happened between 15-20 times over the following 2 months. I was told by the dealership they couldn't do anything about it unless I had video or picture proof of the issue. I obtained both and was told the dealership would no longer take my vehicle in for repairs, only scheduled maintenance. The videos I have are over the size limit however I will include a pic of the dashboard when it happens. I have multiple videos and pictures as well if needed.

On the night of [XXX], I was driving on [XXX] with my husband. I lost the ability to steer, accelerate, shift and brake the car. I was able to blast the horn or I would’ve caused a multi-car accident. Unconnect was static and jumping screens. The headlight and taillights wouldn’t stop flashing. The shifter froze up. The car showed multiple error messages, “Service Transmission Continue in D. Don’t Shift Or Turn Off Vehicle Until You Reach A Desired Location. As You May Not Be Able To Shift Again.” “Service Electronic Stability Control” “Auto Park Disabled” “Vehicle Not in Park” “Drowsy Driver Disabled” Every feature on the car disabled. I got the Jeep pulled over before I lost complete electrical, engine and battery power. Jeep Roadside Assistance would not come get us. USAA Insurance had to make two trips since the car couldn't go in neutral and had no power. They towed it to the nearest dealership. The dealership put in a new battery but that didn't work. They ran diagnostics. The valve body is faulty and shorting out which isn't allowing the car to start. This part is on backorder and will not be available for weeks. I'm waiting a month for a new part in hopes that solves the first issue. Then we see what diagnostics says about the remaining problems. I was moments away from dying along with countless others on the busiest Interstate in Texas. Jeep brand isn’t providing safety and reliability. This is a brand new vehicle that came from the factory with faulty parts. Jeep has already settled a Class Action for this same issue on the 2021-2023 Wrangler. My Jeep start making a horrible grinding and clicking noise every time I turn the steering wheel. It sounded like the wheels would about to come off. It would shake violently going to the road. The A/C was not cooling. It felt super hot inside at all times. The passenger dash was making a rattle at all times. The transmission was jumping at low speeds. The hybrid electrical system wasn't charging. I called the dealership and they said these things were not normal for a brand new Jeep especially the top Summit Reserve. After inspection, I had two broken axles. Metal pieces in my A/C. The passenger instrument panel needed to replaced. The electrical system needed to replaced. The transmission fluid needed to be drained and recalibrated. The transmission continues to jump and jolt forward. The suspension is very shaky and rocky. The steering column and driver door still has a rattle.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact drove the vehicle to the shoulder of the roadway and turned off and restarted the vehicle and the computer was reset. The vehicle was driven to the destination. In addition, the radio screen displayed a black screen. The contact stated that the radio had been replaced by the dealer three times; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was unknown.

Vehicle acceleration stops at high altitudes which causes the vehicle to suddenly maintain lower gear and speeds while driving on interstate/highway. Vehicle had accelerator replaced by delearship at 1,406 miles, however the issue continued. Dealership is now replacing turbocharger engine after reporting failure at 3,500 miles.

The vehicle has intermittent issues whereby it will flash several icons (a Turtle, lightning bolt) and send a error message about throttling, then completely shut down during operation. This has been ongoing since a few months after I received the vehicle. During shut down, the vehicle's power is completely unresponsive, I cannot use gas power to drive the car, it simply becomes unresponsive and non-operational. These shut downs have occurred while idling at traffic lights, while driving at low speeds on residential roads and, the past 4 experienced shut downs, on the highway. [XXX] ; [XXX] MA, [XXX], and [XXX]). These shut downs have occurred with my 7-year old in the car, causing a significant safety risk to everyone in the vehicle. The dealer has received several reports from me (which they will not document), and it has been in for repair on a minimum of 5 occasions. Each time, with one exception, the service team tells me "the codes are gone" and they can't do anything. On one occasion, the care shut down on [XXX] and I drove immediately to the dealership, whereby they reported the issued as related to the "MAP" and fixed. It is not. The car has been recalled for this exact issue, and went in for the repair, which did not fix it. The safety risk of this vehicle is far beyond acceptable, my family is at risk every time I need to drive it. For our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe: Vehicle failed to accelerate. The engine would kind of rev but no forward motion. This occurred after driving approximately 2 miles from my house. i had just made a right turn at a busy intersection and driven approximately 100 yards when the car would not accelerate. This occurred on a very busy street. Luckily, I was able to coast to the side of the road. After shutting the car off and starting it again, it was able to again accelerate. This was scary as my wife and daughter were in the car. It has not yet been reproduced by a dealer. There were no warning lights or messages. This seems familiar to a recall that is issued for same year Jeep Wrangler 4Xe models.

I received a safety recall letter in the mail. I made an appointment at the South Shore Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Service center in Inwood, NY for the repair of the recall and to change the oil. I specifically made the appointment for the recall (I keep getting notifications to repair) I went to the service center (1 hour drive from my home) on May 18,2024 (when I called to check in for the appointment “Shanty” told me that there’s no appointment scheduled for me, even though I got a text message confirming the appointment) Nevertheless, I went anyways. When I provided the recall letter to the representative, he told me that the service team can only do an oil change and can’t repair the defrost that day. So, after waiting for the oil change, I asked when I can come back for the recall repair, the representative told me that they need to get the parts first. I also notified the rep. that my parking rear view camera doesn’t turn on sometimes when in R and sometimes the screen goes black while I’m in the middle of parking. They ended up letting me go and drive with the recall STILL active. On June 19, 2024, I read on Fox Business that Stellantis is recalling Jeeps due to rear view camera defects. I called the dealer who sold me the car (apparently he no longer works at Jeep) I spoke to a different representative, she gave me the phone number to MOPAR and STELLANTIS - nothing else. Throughout the entire time of driving this car, I’ve been experiencing total discomfort. The car constantly jerks, seems like it doesn’t have enough power or traction (even though the gas tank is full and charged too) , and the windshield defrost takes a long time to work, even just the other day on June 29,2024 I started to drive and the windshield got so foggy that I had to stop. This car is dangerous and I do not feel safe driving it.

There have now been at least three incidents where the accelerator is pressed and the vehicle does not respond for an extended period of time, then overreacts and launches the vehicle forward unpredictably. Most recently, leaving a parking lot, I pressed the accelerator gently as I normally would, the vehicle just rolled down to the road, no power. As oncoming traffic was coming (now about 5 seconds later), I pressed the pedal further, almost to the floor, the engine engaged and launched the car forward. This has happened in traffic circles, and produces a delay long enough for other drivers to sound their horn, as my vehicle refuses to move for at least 3-5 seconds. This has resulted in many close calls when oncoming traffic is coming and my vehicle will not move as it should - and this type of incident occurs unpredictably.

Engine got really loud but idled would got shift out of 1st gear. Happened why accelerating after stopping. Traffic was moving at 45 -55 miles past me. And I was unable to pull over. I got to the next red light. Put the vehicle in park then back into drive and was able to drive to the closest dealer. They found no trouble codes when plugging into the computer. The vehicle has not been inspected by a mechanic or scheduled . I am waiting for an appointment confirmation in July. Not warning lights are messages display on the dash when the problem occurs. The loud engine and failure to shift into gear are the only symptoms

The Stalantis manufacturer of 2023 JEEP vehicles has modified its steering/transmission controls to cause a safety concern. On the steering wheel are two “Auto Stick” (aka “paddles”) which when touched switch the transmission from automatic to manual. The “auto stick” controls are marked (-) minus on the left side of the steering wheel and (+) on the right side. Beneath them are the controls for the radio (or other media). These are “buttons” on the left that control the channels (up & down) for the radio. On the right side they control the volume. The safety concern is that the “auto stick” can be easily hit at the same time when attempting to use the radio controls and it will immediately shift the transmission from automatic to manual. The auto-stick control can also be inadvertently hit when using the steering wheel in a normal manner. This is dangerous. The vehicle can go into a lower gear and the engine can hit the “red” line as it becomes stuck in only one gear. The vehicle becomes difficult to control unless the driver can immediately sense the manual transmission and then hit the proper paddle a number of times to gain control. I have had to pull over to the side of the road a number of times and turn off the vehicle and wait 60 seconds for it to reset to the automatic transmission upon restart. Prior to the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland design, the “auto stick” controls could be disabled by the driver using the electronic screen and setting it to “disable” the paddles so they did not work (or conversely made to use at the drivers discretion). Now there is NO WAY to disable the auto stick controls and even a slight swipe at them changes the transmission from automatic to manual. I consider this a dangerous safety concern which can easily allow a driver to lose control without realizing it. Please contact the manufacturer Stanlantis to immediately make a modification to the transmission controls.
