My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is subject to FCA US Safety Recall A7C, NHTSA Campaign 25V710, for a software condition that may cause incomplete communication between the Telematics Box Module (TBM) and Hybrid Control Processor (HCP). According to the recall notice, the HCP may reset while driving, resulting in a loss of drive power without prior warning and increasing the risk of a crash. I received an Important Safety Recall notice from FCA US stating that a remedy is not currently available and that I must wait for a follow-up notice when the remedy becomes available. As a result, I am unable to have this safety recall repaired despite my willingness to do so. I have not experienced a crash, fire, injury, or known loss-of-drive-power incident. I am submitting this complaint because my vehicle remains subject to an unresolved safety recall for which FCA US has not made the final remedy available.

My Jeep has had a recall since December 2025. I initially went to Burgaw, NC Dealership where I Leased my Jeep, with no luck. I made appointment They did not have the part. I was told they would call when it is available. I checked in every month , no part. I called the recall line in the summer 2026 and they made me an appointment at National Dodge in Jacksonville, NCthe first week of August. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment I was told they could not accommodate my appointment because it takes 5 hours. Holdridge Greene made another appointment for me for the following week on [XXX]. He also said he would be able to put me in a car so I wouldn't miss another entire day of work. I showed up and was told they could not help me that day because there were no cars, but they would call and reschedule as soon as possible. It is now [XXX] and no contact has been made. I would love to have my Jeep fixed as it has been affected by these recalls and issues have occurred. Any help is greatly appreciated! I purchased my Jeep Wrangler 4xe on Sept. 27, 2025 thinking all battery issues were addressed by the manufacturer. Then a month later the 68C hybrid battery recall is issued. My hybrid battery passed the 68C recall on Dec. 22 at the dealership. Ensuing 78C and 21D recalls meant I couldn't park in my garage and charge my vehicle for weeks at a time. My electric motor would not start on Aug. 11. Check engine light on, electric mode unavailable and AC not working. Then the vehicle forced itself into park while reversing to be towed to the dealer and died in the street. These vehicles are dangerous because there is no warning when they stop working. They just stop - sometimes in traffic or the middle of the street. With 68C, we were led to believe that only some batteries would have issues and that the installed software would monitor battery health. What we began to see was the batteries were structurally deficient and ALL batteries would fail at some point. The software was designed to shut the vehicle down if it detected a fault. Post 68C recall, many owners experienced a decrease in the performance of their Jeeps as the internal computer sought to balance battery load. This meant we weren't getting the MPG advertised and promised. We also received a warranty extension of unlimited miles and unlimited years. BUT, the fine print says the battery will be replaced ONLY if the value of the vehicle is more than the cost to replace the battery. My jeep has lost $14,000 in value in less than a year while I put less than 10,000 miles on it. The dealer has had my vehicle for a month and confirmed the hybrid battery is the problem. They have ordered a new one, but the new ones have the same defect. Owners are also seeing additional electrical faults after a hybrid battery replacement.

Intermittent delayed/loss of acceleration when accelerator is depressed, along with abnormal switching between electric and gasoline propulsion. Symptoms began after recall 68C was performed. I was on all electric at the time going 40 mph when compressing the accelerated did not work and the car seemed to slow for a few seconds before it engaged. I have roughly 15,500 miles on the Jeep and got the 68C done last fall.

I left my home for work on XXX. I noticed a lack of propulsion upon stepping on the gas & air conditioning blowing warm air. At a stoplight ([XXX] and [XXX] in [XXX]), I attempted to restart the vehicle in hopes that a reset may fix any issues. What I found was that my vehicle would not restart and I could not remove it from park in a busy intersection. After 30 minutes of trying, I was able to get it to turn on and move to the Burger King parking lot. A tow truck arrived and took me to the [XXX] Valley Chysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealer. They told me it would take until Tuesday XXX to look at it. They could not offer me a loaner nor a rental vehicle. They called on XXX and said it was a battery defect and may take weeks to repair. To date, my vehicle with 27,000 miles have been in for four separate recalls, citing lack of propulsion, risk of battery fire. Zero accidents. I no longer feel safe driving the vehicle after recalls: "the 2.0 engine may be contaminated with sand from the casting process ... leading to catastrophic engine failure." "firmware software...may cause loss of drive power which can cause a vehicle crash." "The high voltage battery may become damaged during normal vehicle operation ... advising owners to park away from structures or other vehicles" "Electric Hydraulic Power Steering Pump may have electrical issue ... may lead to a fire." The manufacturer and dealer are offering minimal insight or restitution for my experience or safety. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The car does not ride properly...it stops suddenly, it jolts, it vibrates, the battery sounds like it is overworking or overheating. Our plug-in charger caught fire and when we found out there was a recall on the battery we brought it to Jeep and they told us it's fine. But, it's not fine. It completely stalled while driving this morning and feels like it's going to blow up. I no longer feel safe driving it as it keeps jolting, stopping and feeling like it's going to explode.

On August 26, 2026, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, with approximately 32,000 miles, experienced a sudden loss of power while my family and I were driving. The vehicle lost power in an intersection, creating a serious safety hazard with surrounding traffic. We were stranded until help arrived, and the vehicle had to be towed because it would not restart. Before the loss of power, the A/C stopped blowing cold air. The check-engine light came on, dashboard components and warning indicators began flashing, the battery warning light appeared, and a “Service Charging System” warning was displayed. This was not simply an inconvenience. The sudden loss of power left us unable to move the vehicle in an intersection and created a significant risk of being struck by another vehicle, potentially causing serious injury or death. I am a military veteran, and this incident caused a severe stress and trauma response because I believed my family's safety and my life were in danger. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether this incident is related to a safety defect involving the charging system, electrical system, hybrid propulsion system, battery system, power electronics, software, or another component capable of causing sudden loss of motive power. I understand NHTSA has previously investigated loss of motive power involving Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles. I am reporting this incident so it can be included in NHTSA's safety data and evaluated for a possible broader safety defect. I can provide the VIN, towing records, photographs/videos of the warnings, diagnostic trouble codes, dealership findings, and repair records. I respectfully request that NHTSA document and investigate this safety complaint and determine whether further action or a safety recall is warranted.

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE plug-in hybrid had the 68C recall performed at a Jeep Dealer. My vehicle was working flawlessly prior to this recall. After the recall was performed, the vehicle hybrid battery system now loses power when accelerating. For example, driving 45 MPH in electric mode on a level road for a minute causes the speed to reduce regardless of acceleration, with the exception of flooring the accelerator pedal which causes a surge of power from the gas engine, causing the vehicle to lurch forward. This creates an unsafe condition on the roadway as the vehicle cannot be reliably controlled. Often times now, the gas engine will surge when a vehicle is in front of me causing me to have to brake suddenly to avoid a collision. This problem persists with every drive under variable conditions. There are no warning lamps or messages besides, "electric mode temporarily unavailable," before it surges. The dealer has not re-inspected the vehicle since the service advisor told me after the recall, the vehicle will continuously assess the battery. He further stated if even the slightest problem is detected, the vehicle will shut down completely and I would need to get the vehicle towed. I find this recall solution to be totally unacceptable and unsafe for myself, my family, and other vehicles on the roadway. This situation needs to be investigated and Jeep should make this right for its customers.

In June 2026 the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe power shut down along with service engine light in two seperate instances while my son was driving at highway speed. I made the dealership aware and had the vehichle checked out. They said nothing wrong with vehichle. On July 25 2026 I was driving vehichle on highway and cruise control came on by itself along with service engine light. I had no power to accelerate. Following the completion of the 68C recall update on 4/17/26 my 2024 Jeep 4xE experiences a severe loss of acceleration and throttle lag at highway speeds (over 50 mph) when in electric mode. When attempting to pass vehicles (and sometimes when in the oncoming traffic lane), or when just trying to maintain speed in traffic, the drivetrain abruptly throttles power; causing the vehicle to bog down and hesitate. There is no ability to accelerate and care slows. The gas pedal is essentially useless. The gas engine then performs a panic start, causing the vehicle to lurch forward at highway speeds. It has created and dangerous driving condition when passing, merging or just trying to keep pace the traffic around me. There is no way to know exactly when it will happen, so the unpredictability makes it even more dangerous. I understand this is an issue with many Jeep 4xE since the 68C recall update. It has happened to me 4 times now, the most recent was today. This is unacceptable.

My vehicle has had issues since October of 2024, I bought it March 2024. The first problem that arose was the fuel door button wouldn’t work, the informant screen flickered, and engine light would come on and off all of this began after getting it serviced Oct 2024, I took back to the dealership 3 days later to get it diagnosed. The fuel tank isolation valve was the problem which caused the vehicle to not be able to be pumped, the gas would start spilling when attempted to pump, which left me stranded a few time. This was also causing the electrical flickering and shaking of the vehicle. They were able to fix the issue 3 months later after having the vehicle for a week, during those 3 months the vehicle was still shaking, the electrical components kept flickering or turning off, and it was difficult to pump gas. Last November the vehicle started shaking when I drove it, or stall in the middle of the road. My sensors would stay on for my mirrors even when no one was driving near me or just turn off. My informant screen would just show a black screen and wouldn’t turn on. My engine light turns on and off, so I took it in for the last two recalls to be fixed on June 3, 2026 (#78C 2023-2025 MY WL PHEV, 2024- 2025 JL PHEV 2.0L ESS E) & (#68C 2020-2025 JL & 2022-2026 WL PHEV HV BATTERY FIRES) and now the car hasn’t turned on since July 20, 2026. The dealership won’t send a tow although my car will not turn on because of the new software install they put in. I requested my service records to be sent to me and they refused and made me come in person for all my service receipts.

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The engine unexpectedly shut down while I was driving my 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon at approximately 30 mph. There was no apparent cause for the shutdown. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The sudden engine shutdown caused an unexpected loss of power while the vehicle was moving in traffic. This created a safety hazard because I could no longer maintain speed and was at risk of being struck by other vehicles. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The vehicle has not yet been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. They couldn’t fix problem because there is no software update to fix vehicle issue. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? "The vehicle has not been inspected by the dealership. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms before the engine shut down. In total there are 3 recalls that made this vehicle unreliable and a safety concern.

After recall 68C (NHTSA 25V-741), a software-only update applied after my high-voltage battery passed physical inspection, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe began severely limiting battery discharge power during normal driving. This was not present before the update. The vehicle limits high-voltage battery output during sustained load, such as climbing grades and highway merging, at states of charge as high as 75% or more, worsening as charge drops toward 50% and below. The limiting persists after the load is removed, continuing on flat ground and even while descending, showing it is held by control software rather than being a momentary response to demand. This is a safety concern because the power loss occurs without warning during the exact maneuvers that require power: accelerating up grades and merging into highway traffic. A sudden, sustained reduction in propulsion power while merging or climbing risks being unable to accelerate out of a hazard or keep pace with traffic. I captured OBD-II data from the battery control module during these events. The cooling system works correctly (coolant chilled about 25F below its starting temperature), yet available discharge power still dropped about 16% over 25 minutes, and one cell location stayed hot while the rest of the pack cooled. This indicates the software is derating the battery due to a single degraded cell (identified by the module as Cell 73) that the recall's own pass/fail inspection did not detect. Running the A/C gave only brief, partial recovery before the limit re-engaged. The remedy appears to mask rather than correct a battery cell defect, creating an unpredictable propulsion-power-loss condition that did not exist before. I request NHTSA review whether the 68C remedy is adequate and whether affected vehicles need battery inspection or replacement rather than a software derate.

I am filing a Recall Remedy Failure complaint regarding NHTSA Recall No. 26V-363 for my 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. This safety recall was issued in June 2026 due to a fire risk that can occur while the vehicle is parked. Despite the recall having been announced, the recall status continues to state, “Recall incomplete, remedy not yet available.” I have contacted Stellantis on multiple occasions and have consistently been informed that no repair remedy is available, no replacement parts have been released, and there is no estimated timeline for when the defect will be corrected. The manufacturer and dealership has been unable to provide any meaningful interim safety measures or alternative solution. Because this defect involves a potential vehicle fire, I have been unable to safely use or park the vehicle. A reasonable amount of time has passed since the recall was announced, yet the manufacturer has still failed to provide a remedy as required under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this matter as a Recall Remedy Failure and take appropriate enforcement action. I am also requesting that the manufacturer be required to provide an appropriate remedy, including a vehicle buyback if it is unable to remedy the safety defect within the timeframe required by federal law.

My 2024 Wrangler 4xe has 27,000 miles on it. On Friday, 7/10/2026 around 7:00 in the morning the check engine light came on. I immediately called the dealer to set up an appointment and they could not get me in until 7/15/2026. At about 9:30am that day when I was pulling a small trailer the battery light also came as I was driving on the interstate. As soon as I exited and slowed down, the car lost all power. It would not start or move. I was stranded on the exit ramp in the turn lane, with a trailer, unable to get to the shoulder. There was quite a bit of traffic around me. I was able to have it towed to the dealer. I had to safely get out of the vehicle and direct traffic around the vehicle. Today, 7/15/2026, the dealer ran the diagnostics and determined that the hybrid battery has failed and needs to be replaced. The car currently has 27,000 miles on it and this is now the second hybrid battery replacement and the third time the Jeep has stranded me and has required a tow to the dealer. While driving in Electric Mode this morning, my Jeep experienced a loss of motive power in traffic. When the power loss occurred, I pressed the accelerator, and nothing happened. Moments later, I got a warning telling me Electric Mode Unavailable. Then, a couple moments later again, the gasoline engine started and the vehicle surged ahead nearly causing a collision. Since the 68C Recall was performed the vehicle randomly and unexpectedly experiences this phenomenon. The vehicle was previously left at the dealer to repair this defect. No repair was made. The dealer stated that it drives normal but also stated that power loss is now forced by software after the 68C Recall Software Update and it is now normal to lose electrical motive power in order to keep the battery from getting hot. The danger is that this happens unexpectedly in the past, and happened unexpectedly again, causing traffic around me to take action. It is important to note that this phenomenon occurred today and generally occurs usually below 45-50% Hybrid Battery Charge.

Following completion of the 68C Battery recall, my vehicle began experiencing unexpected and severe loss of electric propulsion while driving. These failures occur without warning, immediately reducing power and causing the vehicle to stall in active traffic. On multiple occasions, surrounding drivers were forced to take evasive action to avoid collision with my stalled Jeep. Incident Timeline 05/15/2026 The hybrid battery failed completely, causing the Jeep to stall in traffic. The vehicle was towed to the dealership, where the hybrid battery was replaced. 06/01/2026 The Jeep was returned to me after repairs. 06/02/2026 The Jeep again lost power and stalled in the middle of the road. After moving it to safety, it was towed back to the dealer. Additional components were replaced. 06/20/2026 The Jeep was returned to me once more.
