The UniLatch Keyless Vehicle (KV) entry function may fail to properly latch the rear passenger doors, which can result in the doors opening while driving. In addition, the instrument cluster open-door warning light may fail to alert the driver of this condition.
Risk: Rear passenger doors that open while driving can increase the risk of a crash. An instrument cluster warning light that fails to alert the driver about unsecured doors can increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC. (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery, and Range Rover Velar vehicles. The Auto High Beam (AHB) system does not indicate through the instrument cluster when the high beams are illuminated automatically. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Risk: The driver may be unaware that the high beams are illuminated, reducing visibility for oncoming traffic, and increasing the risk of a crash.

This could lead you to drive without knowing that high beam lights can turn on automatically. Canadian regulations require a tell-tale indicator to turn on when the automatic high beams are activated. Safety Risk: A driver that does not know that the high beam lights are turned on could create glare for other drivers and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Land Rover will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update vehicle software.

Vehicle was taken to dealership for turning off while driving. While at the dealership the truck developed a windshield leak. Land rover discovery has a known issue with the windshield leaking. Windshield was replaced in 2021; I was not the owner at that time. In December 2025 the dealer discovered the leak and did not repair it knowing that these vehicles are known for water leaking and causing electrical damage.

The contact owns a 2019 Land Rover Discovery. The contact stated that the vehicle had been experiencing electrical failures. The contact stated that the vehicle had failed to start or unlock, requiring the owner to manually unlock the vehicle with the key. Tand and exterior lights independently flashed while the vehicle was parked in the middle of the night. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions, but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the AC condenser was leaking on the tow hitch cable, shorting out the electrical system. The contact stated that when attempting to back out of a parking space, the shifter was moved to reverse; however, the shifter failed to release from reverse. The vehicle was shut off, then restarted to reset the transmission, and at which time the shifter was able to be moved. The next day, while driving at highway speeds of approximately 55 MPH, entering on an on-ramp, the vehicle began to lose power and suddenly decelerate, then the vehicle shifted to neutral. The contact coasted to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to a certified mechanic, who diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced and there were failures with the gearbox and other computer systems. The vehicle was repaired. The next morning, the shifter failure and start failure occurred again. The next day, the instrument panel began to illuminate the messages, "Proceed With Caution" and "Gearbox Fault Detected." The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) would black out, restart, and black out again. The failure would occur while idle, at which time they would have to place the vehicle in park, shut off, then restart it. The vehicle returned to their home and parked. The gearbox failure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle decelerated, and the steering wheel seized. The contact stated there was an abnormal ticking sound coming from the vehicle. The failure had occurred while driving on a busy highway. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the road, where the engine seized. This vehicle is mostly garaged when not on the road and has approximately 33,800 miles on it. On 12/19/2025 I parked the car in a lot while I went to an appointment in Allendale, NJ. It rained fairly heavily. About an hour later I returned to my vehicle and found water dripping down the inside of the left side of the front windshield and mirror over and onto the steering wheel and housing, and onto the dashboard. I immediately wiped the water up and drove to my Land Rover dealer in Paramus, NJ where the car had been purchased new in 2019. An appointment was made for 2 weeks later. I was told there were other incidents of windshield leaks in the model (and possibly other LR Products) and they said they couldn't do temporary fixes and either windshield had to be replaced or possible fix w/o replacement. I recently found on line various incidents reported of windshield leaks some of which damaged electrical connections that caused driving and safety hazards. Also found Lemon Law case advertisement (2024?) about this type of damage. Significantly, found online 3/23/2020 LR “Service Action N221 Windshield Water” re 2018 Discovery & 2015-2018 Evoque, See attached. My local auto body shop put on temporary tape to mitigate leak until fixed. Have been driving for many years & owned numerous cars over that time. I never saw or heard of such a leak. For this to happen out of the blue in my view in a well maintained car that looks brand new is a manufacturing defect that the manufacturer should be responsible for beyond any warranty without the need for litigation, as well as a safety and driving hazard that should not occur.

The vehicle was left in Reverse. the driver started to exit the car, the vehicle went in reverse, ripped off teh car door on the garage siding, bent teh "A" frame and continue in reverse slamming into a neighbors structure

The Land Rover Discovery was in "reverse". Not aware that the vehicle was in reverse, the car door was opened and the driver started to step out of the car. At a high rate of speed (approximately 5-7 MPH), the vehicle automatically accelerated in reverse, the open car door hit the garage track and ripped the driver side door off. the vehicle continued in reverse and slammed into an neighbor's structure. With the car door opened, like many other cars, the car should not have moved. with the driver not sitting in the seat, the car should not have moved. the high rate of acceleration was an additional issue, whether that waas software related or not is unknown. The driver side door was hanging by the electronics and the vehicle is still being accessed but the "A" frame is suspected to be bent.

The contact owns a 2019 Land Rover Discovery. The contact stated that while driving at 20 MPH and entering the highway, the vehicle shut off. While driving at 45 MPH, the vehicle shut off and restarted. The vehicle coasted after stalling. The vehicle was shifted into park and then into drive to continue driving. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V694000 (Electrical System) and 19V040000 (Engine). The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V393000 (Electrical System, Latches, Locks/Linkages). The local dealer was contacted, and confirmed there was a cyberattack on the computers, and they would be down until October 2025. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
