Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar and Land Rover Discovery, 2020-2023 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, 2019-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Range Rover, 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Defender, 2021-2024 Jaguar F-Pace, and 2021-2022 Jaguar E-Pace mild-hybrid electric vehicles (MHEVs.) The DC-DC converter can fail due to an internal fault in the boost control microchip. A failure of the DC-DC converter will result in a loss of 12-Volt system charging and can lead to complete loss of drive power and exterior lighting.

Risk: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display can decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC. (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery, and Range Rover Velar vehicles. The Auto High Beam (AHB) system does not indicate through the instrument cluster when the high beams are illuminated automatically. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk: The driver may be unaware that the high beams are illuminated, reducing visibility for oncoming traffic, and increasing the risk of a crash.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the DC/DC converter could fail. As a result, the 12 V battery would not charge and a red "Stop Safely Electrical Fault Detected" warning message would be displayed. If this happens, and you continue to drive the vehicle, there could be a loss of power to the wheels and/or the vehicle's lights could turn off. Note: This recall only affects certain mild hybrid electric vehicles (MHEV). Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Exterior lights that don't work may make the vehicle less visible to others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Land Rover will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.

Issue: This recall is for certain replacement engines. The oil filter housing may not have been manufactured properly. Over time, the housing could crack and cause oil to leak onto hot components in the engine compartment. Safety Risk: Oil that leaks onto hot components can create the risk of a fire. Additionally, an oil leak could create a hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: None of the affected engines have been installed in vehicles. Land Rover will instruct dealers to replace the oil filter housing assembly before each engine is installed.

Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a surround camera system. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Land Rover will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the rearview camera and install a new seal. The dealer will replace the rearview camera, if necessary.

Issue: On certain vehicles, when the Automatic High Beam (AHB) system is turned on, the AHB tell-tale indicator on the instrument panel may not turn on. This could lead you to drive without knowing that high beam lights can turn on automatically. Canadian regulations require a tell-tale indicator to turn on when the automatic high beams are activated. Safety Risk: A driver that does not know that the high beam lights are turned on could create glare for other drivers and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Land Rover will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update vehicle software.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the engine crankshaft pulley bolt may have been manufactured improperly. This could cause it to crack and fail. If this happens, the crankshaft could break and cause a sudden engine failure. A driver may hear loud noises and see warning lights on the dash immediately before the engine fails. Safety Risk: An engine failure could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a loose pulley could separate from the engine and cause damage. If it separates from the vehicle, it could become a hazard for bystanders or other drivers. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. The contact owns a 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine and low coolant warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over to the shoulder of the road. Upon further inspection, the contact became aware of a coolant leak under the vehicle. The coolant reservoir was refilled, and there was white smoke coming from under the hood. A local independent mechanic arrived on scene and scanned the vehicle with an OBD2 scanner, but a diagnostic fault code was not provided. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign: 23V221000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

I had my oil changed and mechanic noted both my fuel tank belly pans were heavily corroded, which was odd for a garaged car with lower miles. They recommended reaching out to my dealership since this is a pressing issue that likely should include a recall or warranty. When I researched the issue, it's a known Range Rover Sport design issue, a 2019 should not have this much corrosion and it sounds like condensation pools. Also, the mechanic noted that this likely has been happening for a while. The RI Range Rover dealership inspected my car in August 2025, and didn't flag any issues.

The contact owns a 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH, there was a message of a "Module Failure" displayed, and the master warning light was illuminated before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the residence and then to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the DC converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the check engine warning light illuminated approximately 20 minutes after restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the battery control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact believed that the failure was associated with damages from the original failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

Safety Complaint Regarding Coolant Leak – Same Defect as Recall N785 Vehicle: 2019 Range Rover Sport | VIN: [XXX] Description of Problem: My vehicle is experiencing a persistent and significant coolant loss. Upon inspection by my mechanic/dealer, the failure was diagnosed as a leaking coolant pipe/elbow connected to the turbocharger system. This is the exact component and failure mode described in Land Rover Safety Recall N785, which addresses a coolant elbow rupture that can leak fluid onto hot engine components and cause an engine fire. Despite having the identical part failure on my vehicle, my VIN is not listed under the current recall scope. Safety Concern: I am extremely concerned about the fire risk and the potential for sudden engine overheating while driving at highway speeds. I have already had to repeatedly refill the coolant just to operate the vehicle safely. I believe the recall population should be expanded to include my vehicle, as the defect clearly exists outside the current VIN range. Vehicle: 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE While driving approximately 65-70 mph, a red battery/charging warning appeared instructing me to pull over immediately. Within approximately 3-5 minutes, the vehicle rapidly lost electrical power and became completely disabled while driving. EVERYTHING in my car started shutting down; no air, no lights, no steering. Steering and vehicle functions became inoperable and the vehicle required towing. The repair facility diagnosed a charging-system malfunction. Diagnostic notes stated the alternator was only producing approximately 11.2 volts and was not charging the battery. The repair facility also documented that the alternator was saturated in engine oil due to leaking valve covers and oil filter housing components. Repairs included replacement of the alternator, valve covers, oil filter housing, gaskets, coolant-related components, and associated labor under Land Rover repair procedures. I am submitting this complaint because the sudden loss of electrical power while driving at highway speed created a serious safety concern. The only thing that saved me for an accident is the high speed I was traveling coasted my car to the exit as an 18-wheeler truck was on the side and behind me.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 65-70 MPH, the contact believed that the battery warning light was illuminated before the vehicle shut off. The steering wheel became inoperable. The contact was able to pull over to the median, where an independent mechanic attempted to restart the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to VEX European, where an unknown diagnostic result was retrieved, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact later became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V248000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) online and associated the failure with the recall; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

The infotainment system system that controls the AC RADIO DEFROST HEATED SEATS, SETTINGS, DRIVEABILITY SETTINGS does not turn on. This is my wifes car and she has to drive sometimes with no defrost while its raining and not AC/Heat control while the weather is cold or super hot in LA. The problem has been diagnosed by the dealer and there has been a recall issued for this specific recall, just not for my vin number. So Land Rover Corporate refuses to fix it or provide any financial help. The car has 45,000miles and we are the original owner. I believe our vin should also be included in the recall of the Land over Sport Infotainment system. I believe our model was not included because it was a diesel and not many range rover sport diesels are in the States,.

Constant loss of coolant, overheating. Coored. Crossover pipes replaces. Pressure tests to coolant system come back as normal, but vehicle requires frequent topping up and dashboard warning lights. Car overheated on highway requiring immediate stopping and tow. After removing starter, pooling found while under pressure on shield under turbo manifold. Exact location of leak is tbd. These repairs should be covered by a recall for how frequently they occur. The MHEV turbo is generating too much heat for all of the plastic parts.

- I purchased my car in October 2022 and I have had a Coolant level low notification on my dashboard in December 2022. I then filled the coolant myself. - The warning notification showed up again after about 3 weeks in January 2023. I then took it to Land Rover Frisco Service and Parts Center on 1/25/2023 to get it get it inspected. They said they found 'Turbo Coolant Inlet and Outlet Pipes Leaking, Replace Turbo Coolant INLET Pipe and Replace Turbo Outlet Coolant Pipe' (exact words from the service note). - However, the SAME issue came back again after about 6 months, when I call them back for repair - they said I will have to pay it out of my pocket since my warranty has run out. - I asked them how much the cost would be, and they said to diagnose they would charge me $260 and then whatever amount the repair service would cost. As I could not afford it, I started re-filling the coolant whenever the car is giving me the 'coolant low' warning sign. And I have been doing that for the past good year or so. - I now some vehicles with the same year and model have been re-called for the specific safety issue that I am experiencing, However my vehicle is not part of the re-call. - I called them Land Rover this morning to request if they can fix my car for free, and they said since this car is not part of the re-called cars, I will have to pay for the fix. - I strongly believe this car should be part of the re-call as well.
