Two years waiting for recall repair (rear-backup camera). Lincoln Mfg notified that a pending recall/repair for driver's rear-camera was required. As of 08/14/2026 the repair has not been performed by Lincoln Mfg or it's agents. Rear-camera fails to work consistanly and is a danger to pedestrians. Local dealerships (Sedano Lincoln, Arron Ford , and Pacific beach Ford) have failed to repair the known camera issue upon inspection. My only recourse is contract an independent technician to make the vehicle safe to operate.

The vehicle was recalled. I took the vehicle to the dealer where it was purchased. It was serviced. The engine issue was addressed, so we thought. The repair/replacement parts did not remedy the issue, despite it being in the shop for over 6 months. The problem persists. It is overheating in a 5 minute drive. The local service department is saying there is no other remedy. They keep asking we bring it in for another diagnosis, but the problem is the same as the 47,000 other vehicles that have been recalled by this same issue. We purchased the car and have not been able to use it.

At approximately 64,000 miles my engine light came on and I took it to a shop. Cylinder 2 was misfiring so we changed the spark plugs and coils. At 67,000 miles light came on again with same issue and while having my oil changed they noted it was unusually dirty. I changed out plugs and coils again. At 72,000 miles light came on again and I took it to a different shop and learned I had a crack engine block, a problem with these vehicles with ECO boost. I was told I needed a new engine and the only thing I could do was add sealant to buy time. I took it to Lincoln to trade and they refused because of the issue and told me to reset the light and sell to Carmax. I couldn’t do that, it was wrong. I sold it for $1,000 to Nissan because I could no longer afford to be driving my grandson in this unsafe car. Also had a lot of issues with electrical starting from purchase with battery dying and lift gate not working. When I got rid of it the windshield wipers wouldn’t work and radio made aweful static sounds. Horrible car from day 1 purchased brand new.

Battery drain issues - causing faulty modules on driver side door which include the safety belts modules, rear lift gate as well as black panel screen. Poor engine performance and warning lights like the check engine light come on and off intermittently. I have replaced the battery several times and having various modules problems some have come up as air bags, and ABS brakes modules. Lincoln knows about the problems and so far, is not able to fix the problems that causes the battery to drain, which causes all the faulty modules. Really don't expect anything like a recall, but this is now documented to warned others. if the modules don't work properly, the sensors will not work correctly either in the vehicles. There are over 20+ modules in the MKC that work with the sensors. Thank you for at least reading.

The contact stated that on a separate occasion, the rearview camera displayed a distorted image while the vehicle was in reverse(R). The contact stated that the failure obstructed the driver's visibility, which prevented the driver from safely operating the vehicle. ALL SYSTEMS SEEM TO BE WEAKENED, AND LACKING FULL POWER AND FULLY ASSISTING IN WHICH IT WAS INTENDED AND DESIGNED. BACK-UP CAMERA: CAMERA CONSISTENTLY GOES BLACK OR BLANK WHEN I'M IN REVERSE. SOMETIMES IT DISPLAYS MOMENTARILY AND THEN BLACKS OUT UPON MY REVERSING. THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL INCIDENTS WHERE I HAVE COME CLOSE TO HITTING SOMEONE BACKING OUT/UP/IN, AS THE REAR VIEW CAMERA WITH BLANK OUT WHILE DOING SO. ALSO AT TIMES THERE IS NO TOO CLOSE WARNING FROM THE CAMERA OR SENSORS AROUND. The back up camera does not work. I don't know the exact date when it began not working, but it's been many months. This may be due to a faulty electrical or computer system. Occasionally, an error message will appear on screen which states the obvious -- that the camera is not working -- and to contact the dealer. I received a recall notice in the mail on May 9, 2025, but the repair parts are still not available (August 22, 2025), which is 15 weeks after I received the recall notice. This is an excessive amount of time to wait. Since so much time has passed, it seems quite possible that the manufacturer does not intend to ever repair this defect as it is an older vehicle. This is worthy of investigation. At the very least, a status update should be given to owners.

The battery sensor module is faulty. I have to go out every morning and jump start my car. I have replaced the battery twice withing 7 months so I know it's not the battery. When I took it to the dealer ford/lincoln dealer near me and asked about the sensor recall, they said that it was likely the cause. This way back in June and they still say the parts are on back order for over 7 months. I have full warranty on the vehicle and have to jump start it if it hasn't been drove withing 8-10 hours. Even let it run yesterday for 45 minutes so it would be okay this morning. Lights won't even come on. Had to manually unlock the doors with the key to even get the cars eat out of the car.
