Driver Assist & Collision Avoidance across every Nissan Rogue year
This complaint concerns a 2016 Nissan Rogue purchased from a used-vehicle dealership and involves safety-related defects present at or shortly after sale, raising concerns regarding inspection adequacy, disclosure accuracy, and systemic sales practices. Within days of purchase, the vehicle exhibited active water intrusion through the moonroof, interior ceiling stains, mold spotting, and moisture exposure to electronic components. These conditions indicate prolonged or pre-existing water intrusion rather than post-sale wear. Service personnel later advised that the vehicle showed indicators consistent with prior water or flood-related damage. The vehicle also demonstrated multiple mechanical and electrical malfunctions affecting safety and drivability. Subsequent inspection determined that handling and pulling issues were not caused by wheel alignment, but by worn sway bar frame bushings and cracked CV axle boots on both sides, indicating suspension and drivetrain deterioration. Noise initially attributed to rear brake issues was later identified as wheel bearing failure after prior evaluations misdiagnosed the source. Wheel bearing degradation is a progressive condition consistent with pre-existing mechanical wear. Additional defects included keyless entry and ignition errors, electrical shorts affecting interior systems, malfunctioning lift-gate controls, and crash-sensor irregularities occurring during rain and highway driving. These conditions created an unreasonable risk of impaired braking response, electronic failure, or loss of vehicle control. The vehicle was represented as inspected, safe, and reliable at the time of sale. However, the defects manifested immediately and required repeated repair attempts during the warranty period, resulting in significant loss of use.

LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
A component in my Transmission failed. I hooked it up to a code reader and it is saying its a solenoid. My car did not experience any warning signs or trouble. It just out if no where decided it wont go into reverse and move and it wont move in drive either. It did this and then after the engine made a noise the check engine light turned on. It is now at a repair shop being looked at. Again this happened out of the blue with no warning signs. I also have only had the car for one year.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Engine stumbles or even stalls out suddenly on acceleration, often at intersections, and then "forward collision warning sensor malfunction" flashes on the screen. Then, when accelerator is pressed further in an attempt to get the vehicle to move, the engine revs and vehicle lurches forward.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The warnings shown in the attached picture came on for no reason all at once then after a restart of the engine, they all disappeared except the check engine light. OBDII code reader shows the code P2004, but after clearing the code with the OBDII tool, the check engine light doesn't come back, which should mean the problem P2004 does not exist anymore. The same story has happened several times in the past year.

When I driving in the freeway my car began to slow down, even when is visible cars in front me and back were present. The car slowing down for it's own , which didn't not give rear drivers an opportunity to slow down in time I had to stop completely and needless braking can cause collisions, that was very scary for my and my family.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
2016 NISSAN ROGUE SL AWD FORWARD EMERGENCY BREAKING SYSTEM GIVES WARNING WHEN THERE IS NOTHING IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENS SPORADICALLY, DAY OR NIGHT, WET OR DRY ATMOSPHERE, AND AT MULTIPLE LOCATIONS (STRAIGHT STRETCHS OF HIGHWAY, 4 WAY INTERSECTIONS, STOPLIGHTS, RAILROAD CROSSINGS, BRIDGES/OVERPASSES). IT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES AS WELL AS ANOTHER LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP EXPRESSING THIS ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT MY SENSOR WAS BAD SO IT WAS REPLACED AND THE CODES WERE ERASED FROM THE SYSTEM. THIS ISSUE STILL HAPPENS AFTER THAT REPAIR. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY SERVICE ADVISORS THAT IT'S BECAUSE THE SENSOR IS DIRTY OR IT'S SOMETHING THAT JUST HAPPENS. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER REPAIR WHO STATE THEY ARE WILLING TO WORK WITH ME BUT THEY ONLY KEEP MY CAR FOR A FEW HOURS OR A DAY AND HAVE A TECHNICIAN DRIVE IT TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE WITH NO SUCCESS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IF THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE THEN THERE IS NO REPAIR FOR IT. I UNDERSTANDT THAT BUT, I AM SCARED THAT IT IS GOING TO ACTUALLY ACTIVATE WHILE I AM TRAVELING TO AND FROM WORK ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS AT HIGH RATES OF SPEED. MY "I THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE BASED OF SAFETY FEATURES VEHICLE" DOES NOT FEEL SO SAFE ANYMORE. I WILL NOT LET ANYONE RIDE IN THE VEHICLE ME OUT OF FEAR THAT I MAY CAUSE THEM HARM WITH THIS ISSUE.

I TOOK THE CAR HOME SAFELY AND PARKED IT. MY POINT IS I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE AND NOBODY IS LISTENING. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE, I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING SINCE I HAD 66 MILES ON IT. PLEASE ADVISE ME WHAT TO DO.
