Driver Assist & Collision Avoidance complaints by model year
The vehicles front Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system, part of the Safety Shield 360 suite, has activated several times without any obstacle, vehicle, pedestrian or hazard present in the roadway. This is commonly known as phantom braking. The system triggers unexpected braking during normal driving conditions, which creates a risk of read end collision from following traffic and loss of vehicle control response time. In my specific case the issue happens during bright sunshine when the sun casts a shadow from the overpass at [XXX] and highway [XXX] in the [XXX] area. This has happened several times to me at that location and the vehicle locks the brakes and traffic behind me must quickly brake to avoid hitting my vehicle. I temporarily remedy the problem by disabling the front emergency brake using the vehicle menu before my commute but that menu resets when the vehicle is turned off and i have on occasion forgot to disable the front emergency braking. This malfunction will also occur at higher speeds but the vehicle does not have time to react and all that I get is a bright flashing warning light on the dash indicators as I drive under overpasses at higher speeds. At lower speeds this is very dangerous. I have reported this problem to my local Nissan Dealer, Bommarito Nissan on [XXX] in [XXX] but as of now they do not have a solution. I plan to report the problem again today and tell them that I have filed a report with this agency. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
NHTSA complaint #11750626 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
The Rear Automatic Braking (RAB) software fails to detect a connected trailer harness. The truck experiences un-commanded, sudden emergency braking during multi-point turns when going from forward to reverse when manueverimg a trailer, creating an immediate hazard of neck injury, trailer jackknifing on public roadways or loss of control. this is on a truck that has a brake controller for trailers, the truck knows a trailer is hooked up but repeatedly turns the RAB back on after it driver disables it, furthermore the truck does not have a driver configuration option in settings to permanently disable these features but rather has a temporary button on the center console which resets every time the truck goes from forward to reverse.

I tow full-time as a working nomad. My truck has gone into limp-mode (low-power mode) onto a complete loss of power. I have been stranded on 3 difference occasions. The issue first began at 75,000 miles which I have records of. After this most recent incident, I realized there was a pattern emerging. After further research, I have discovered that there is a lawsuit out for these CP4 fuel systems. I called Nissan and opened a case number. They processed and then stated that they will not assist me since I am not over 100k miles. My odometer is currently at 105K miles. I am not sure if it is safe to drive my truck and I need to relocate soon. What options do I have? Can anything be done about this? From what I am reading online, this is a $10,000 - $15,000 to fix, let alone the thousands of dollars I have already spent on varying part replacements. Nissan/Cummins designed this truck to work with the fuel being sold in Europe. The fuel in the US does not offer the lubrication required to function properly and it’s causing friction on metal which is sending metal shavings in through the fuel system. The fuel filters cannot handle the debris. The only warning signs I received from the vehicle was a dash warning stating low power / no power mode had been engaged as I lost power and had to roll to a stop on the side of the road. Thankfully I was able to get over to safety each time. Then, I stayed stranded on the side of the road (single female traveling alone with dogs) until I was able to figure things out. Nissan refused to tow or offer any support. Existing Lawsuit: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
I have noticed this problem a few times, specifically in highway traffic. When getting back up to speed, i have noticed my 2022 Nissan Titan suddenly jerk as I am accelerating back up to the posted speed limit. This has happened a few times. First time I did not pay it to much consideration, but now it's something that worries me. I have also noticed my Automatic Cruise control is having issues staying on when activated. I turn it on, but when I go to set the vehicle speed, I will sometimes get a malfunction warning. I love using the Automatic Cruise Control for its safety and to set the speed limit when I drive

I have a 2023 Nissan Titan XD 4x4. Recently I have experienced a major malfunction with the automatic braking system. While driving the vehicle I have experienced several times that the front left wheel is locking up briefly and pulling me sharply to the left. I have almost slid into other vehicles and guardrails during this malfunction. I immediately brought it to my local Nissan dealer,(Coggin Nissan) in Jacksonville Fl. and reported the problem on three occasions. They offered no findings or solutions to correct the problem. They take it for a short test drive and state everything is working properly. I explained this is a random problem and usually occurs when taking right hand curves and has caused me to lose control of the vehicle. Nothing has been done by the dealer to remedy the problem though most online forums point to a wheel speed sensor. I have also relayed that when its raining and this happens the front crash detector symbol illuminates briefly and I've shown them a picture taken from my cell phone. I feel any further driving of this vehicle puts myself, my family and other drivers at risk.

Bought my 2023 Nissan Titan Pro-4x from dealership May of 2023. Never been involved in a collision. So there should be no reason it feels as if something is loose on the underside. There have been similar reports of this vibration/shaking such as this one: “Nissan Titan Pro-4X 4WD was bought new from dealership. Have had issues with the truck downshifting hard when slowing down since purchase. The truck lurches forward under 5MPH - 10MPH and feels like you are being rearended by another vehicle. Identical issue to NHTSA complaints 11578467 and 11539769.” I have also had it happen once so far. I have been driving no more than maybe 10MPH and it recognized something in front of the sensor and the truck slammed on the brakes to a stop. Mind you I was in an empty parking lot. On long drives, my forward collision sensor will randomly illuminate for no reason. It was do it in all season but more frequently in the winter. I used to own a 2017 Nissan Titan SV. Never once had an issue. I’m not sure what’s going on with Nissans quality control but this is insane. I would honestly like some sort of remedy before I have no other choice than to trade the truck in..

I was driving on the highway at 70 mph and for no reason the emergency brake activated and stopped the truck. I am very scared because it has happened so many times. I always drive with my child on board, I am afraid that this will end in a rollover or death. At the time of the incident the truck is already done all recalls and updates softwares

Purchased from Coparts end of March 2024 2019 Nissan Titan Xd S [XXX] ) Arrived with no keys, no batteries, other engine parts missing. we thought it would run once we got keys and battery for it because it had less than 13,000 miles on it. Connecting bar seems broke, oil pan was off so no oil. Afraid to try to turn over because of all the issues until the engine is pulled and inspected. We feel we received a lemon for it to be in such bad shape with less than 13,000 miles. Plus sold without catalytic converter, thought that was illegal. Can anything be done to help us? I was traveling on the Interstate at about 50 miles an hour. I went under a bridge and my front crash avoidance sensors malfunctioned and the breaks were applied. My truck completely locked down to a stop and I could not get the truck to move. I in turn was hit in the rear end by a semi truck. The local Nissan dealership started that it was a known.
