The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH over a ramp in the road, there was a loud banging sound coming from the front passenger’s side of the vehicle. Later, while depressing the brake pedal, there was a scraping sound coming from the front passenger’s side wheel, and the vehicle started jerking and vibrating and failed to properly stop the vehicle. The vehicle was eventually taken to the local Pep Boys, who determined that the front passenger’s side brake caliper bolt was missing from the brake caliper and informed the contact that the brake caliper needed to be replaced. The brake caliper was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the front passenger’s side wheel was damaged due to the failure and needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 127,000.

Lives are at risk if they are hit or ran over. Inspected by a Nissan dealership, invoices are available. The Brake Booster is no longer manufactured by Nissan. No repair is available. Unknown. 2023 Nissan Titan Jacksonville, FL

SERVICE BRAKES

I have a 2023 Nissan Titan XD 4x4. Recently I have experienced a major malfunction with the automatic braking system. While driving the vehicle I have experienced several times that the front left wheel is locking up briefly and pulling me sharply to the left. I have almost slid into other vehicles and guardrails during this malfunction. I immediately brought it to my local Nissan dealer,(Coggin Nissan) in Jacksonville Fl. and reported the problem on three occasions. They offered no findings or solutions to correct the problem. They take it for a short test drive and state everything is working properly. I explained this is a random problem and usually occurs when taking right hand curves and has caused me to lose control of the vehicle. Nothing has been done by the dealer to remedy the problem though most online forums point to a wheel speed sensor. I have also relayed that when its raining and this happens the front crash detector symbol illuminates briefly and I've shown them a picture taken from my cell phone. I feel any further driving of this vehicle puts myself, my family and other drivers at risk.

2012 Nissan Titan St Petersburg, FL

SERVICE BRAKES

On [XXX], my 2012 Nissan Titan was serviced by Pep Boys in Gainesville, FL for brake-related work. After they returned the truck, the brake assembly was reinstalled incorrectly — the caliper was not secured properly and the rotors were damaged/warped as a result. This failure created an immediate and severe safety risk. My father drove the vehicle shortly afterward, unaware of the problem, which could have led to complete brake failure at speed and a serious crash or fatality. The issue was later inspected and confirmed by a Pep Boys location in Tampa, FL, which documented that the prior service work left the brake assembly in an unsafe, dangerous condition. There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages prior to the discovery of the defect. The unsafe condition was only discovered after the truck was brought to another Pep Boys location for inspection. This defect and improper repair practice by the service provider placed my fathers safety and the safety of others at significant risk. I am submitting this report to document the incident and to ensure that similar unsafe repair practices are investigated and prevented in the future. 2023 Nissan Titan Clovis, NM

SERVICE BRAKES

Bought my 2023 Nissan Titan Pro-4x from dealership May of 2023. Never been involved in a collision. So there should be no reason it feels as if something is loose on the underside. There have been similar reports of this vibration/shaking such as this one: “Nissan Titan Pro-4X 4WD was bought new from dealership. Have had issues with the truck downshifting hard when slowing down since purchase. The truck lurches forward under 5MPH - 10MPH and feels like you are being rearended by another vehicle. Identical issue to NHTSA complaints 11578467 and 11539769.” I have also had it happen once so far. I have been driving no more than maybe 10MPH and it recognized something in front of the sensor and the truck slammed on the brakes to a stop. Mind you I was in an empty parking lot. On long drives, my forward collision sensor will randomly illuminate for no reason. It was do it in all season but more frequently in the winter. I used to own a 2017 Nissan Titan SV. Never once had an issue. I’m not sure what’s going on with Nissans quality control but this is insane. I would honestly like some sort of remedy before I have no other choice than to trade the truck in..

2021 Nissan Titan Tallahassee, FL Fire

SERVICE BRAKES

My Titan had no real indicators or trouble codes but failed into limp mode and began to smoke and caught on fire! Nissan refused to investigate as they claimed the 2021 was unaffected but shares the same manufacturer plant and engine harness from the 2020.

2024 Nissan Titan Roseville, CA

SERVICE BRAKES

The vehicle lurches forward during stopping for a traffic light, stop sign, etc. Feels like a possible transmission issue, like a hard downshift, but the lurch is a safety issue. Has been happeneing since the truck was purchased, and the dealer service has been unable to resolve. Service manager drove in the truck and confirmed the jolt forward. Forums indicate this issue is occurring with other 2024 Titan trucks. The lurch forward can interfere with stopping distance since the lurch is stronger than the braking efficiency during that sudden jolt. This issue has been ongoing since November 2023 with no resolution.

I was driving on the highway at 70 mph and for no reason the emergency brake activated and stopped the truck. I am very scared because it has happened so many times. I always drive with my child on board, I am afraid that this will end in a rollover or death. At the time of the incident the truck is already done all recalls and updates softwares

2023 Nissan Titan Las Vegas, NV Crash

SERVICE BRAKES

The truck was parked on hill and as I unlocked it, it rolled down 2 blocks. Hit a brick wall and finally went into a yard and hit a parked car. This is the second time this truck has rolled down. First time, I was able to catch it but this time I couldn’t. It was horrific to witness.

2022 Nissan Titan Waldi, AR

SERVICE BRAKES

The parking brake has never been sufficient to prevent the vehicle from rolling slightly even after the vehicle has been placed in park. There is no audible alarm if you back up and the parking brake is set. The engine torque allows you to drive forward and reverse with ease even with the brake set, and a small dash light is the only indication that the brake is still set. When asking the dealership to adjust the brake and fix the issue they require the customer to pay for the service despite the brake being faulty from manufacture.

The dealer stated that the front-end of the vehicle was defective. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was ongoing, and the vehicle failed to immediately stop while depressing the brake pedal. The manufacturer was contacted and informed him that the statute of limitation had expired and no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.

2017 Nissan Titan Memphis, TN

There has been multitude of this issue if you search the titanxd forums. Same thing happens to everyone. ABS, traction control, and the 4wd warning flashes on the dash. After this happens, it changes the characteristics of how the truck drives. Rapid shift, high RPM shifts, which are extremely hard to control on the highway. Also mentioning the ABS brake not working. Nissan has been changing out transfer cases because of this. The vehicle is extremely dangerous cause of these issues. I hope this makes headway to Nissan Corporate.

I purchased this vehicle on 05/16/23, four days later the check engine light along with the ABS and traction control light came on. I took the truck to the dealership service center, after a week I was called to pick up the truck. On the way home the same lights came on again. I returned the truck to the service center for repair. After two weeks I was called to pick up the truck. Two days later the lights have came back on. After checking several forums online I noticed that there were many people with the same truck experiencing the exact same problem.
