Folded down the drivers side sun visor and it fell from the roof and was hanging by the wires that control the garage door opener. I could not see the road in front of me and had to pull over and push the stem back up in the bracket and leave it in the up position for it to stay in place.

The visors on both sides will just detach and unexpectedly fall from the roof of the truck while you are driving. They are fairly big and when they detach and fall it poses a risk of crashing. I have researched this and it seems to be a problem with many Ram trucks. I am very surprised there has not been a recall of this hazard yet. The drivers side visor fell off last June 2025. I was able to get it repaired at a Dodge dealership at no charge as it was under warranty still.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 42 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and shut off. The driver pulled over safely and shifted into park(P), but the vehicle was difficult to restart. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated after the failure. On another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shut off and was difficult to restart. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the sun visor detached from the mount and fell, obscuring the view while driving. Additionally, the rear window seal was cracked, and water was leaking in several spots into the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer on three separate occasions, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure, and the failure recurred. The vehicle was partially diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the window was not covered. The visor was repaired under the warranty. The manufacturer was contacted and extended the warranty coverage. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.

On Saturday December 29th, while driving on a smaller regional highway I heard noise which seemed to be coming from the truck. As I looked into the rear view mirror I watched in horror the tonneau cover take flight and slam into the roadway behind me. Thankful, the cars noted to my right were not directly behind me, as it would have certainly caused a serious accident. I did circle back to locate the remains of the tonneau cover and still have it in my possession for evaluation. I contacted the dealer inquiring if there had been any recalls or safety issues or concerns regarding the tonneau cover that came with the 2022 custom build RAM truck. In that email I also who I should be in contact with to discuss the replacement of the cover and repairs to my truck for the failure of the cover. In my email to the dealership, I attached photos of the cover, damage and the odometer for documentation.To date yet to hear back from the dealer by phone or email I emailed the general sales manager at the dealership on Janurary 8th.

The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the driver’s side sun visor was lowered; however, the sun visor lowered more than normal, blocking the view of the highway. The contact used force to place the sun visor back into the up position. The contact stated that the force needed to put the sun visor in place caused concern that the sun visor attachment point to the roof might become fractured. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. While towing a trailer and driving approximately 65 MPH, the tailgate door erroneously opened. During the failure the tailgate door and the front end of the trailer were damaged. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions while driving. The cause of the failure was not determined. The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated upon purchasing the vehicle brand new and attempting to use the key fob to operate the vehicle, the vehicle failed to respond. The dealer replaced the antenna; however, the failure persisted. The dealer diagnosed that the RF hub was corroded due to water leaking through the third brake light. The dealer determined that the rear windshield, the third brake light, and the RF hub module needed to be replaced. The contact was charged a repair cost. The vehicle was not repaired. Have nicks on all 4 door latches on vehicle. Took vehicle to Bettenhausen Chrysler in Tinley Park, where I purchased, and they turned me over to corporate. After 3 months of no answer from corporate case closed and Chrysler not paying for repairs. I have checked with dealers In Illinois, Missouri, and Colorado. They all had multiple vehicles with same problem. After numerous attempts to contact anyone at dealership finnaly got a call from Mr Bettenhausen. Mr Bettenhausen stated he had same damage on his personal vehicle and door latches were faulty and ended conversation with me. Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other then Bettenhausen Chrysler dodge. I feel if door latches are faulty it puts me and anyone else who is on roads as well.

My truck is 2 weeks old. I was driving to pick my child up from school, and the sun roof exploded spontaneously spraying glass all over me and causing me to almost wreck the truck. This sounded like a gun shot in my ear and there is glass everywhere. I had to be very careful pulling off the road so I did not get cut or injured.

The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer who changed the weather seal on the window however, the issue still remained. The contact returned the vehicle to the dealer who then replaced the weather seal on the door however, the whistling continued. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue.
