2014 Toyota Camry transmission problems

The torque converter is malfunctioning. This malfunction can damage the entire transmission by releasing metal debris into the transmission system due to severe shuddering. If the torque converter fails while driving, I could lose acceleration power and potentially lose power steering assist and brake assist if the engine stalls, making the vehicle significantly harder to control. Transmission shudder - noticed transmission vibration at speeds from 25 to 30 mph and before 50 mph. Took the car to a shop for wheel alignment, vibration still felt. Took to a dealer , Hamer Toyota in Mission Hills, CA., and dealer said, it could be just the transmission oil, so I had the oil change done. Problem was the same. Took it for tire rotation and balance, but problem was the same. Called the Toyota Company and Toyota said, the extended warranty on the transmission expired in 2022. I said, it’s only 100,000 miles, but less than 150,000 miles — which was the maximum extended mileage warranty. Toyota insisted they could not do anything because 2022 came 1st and not the 150k miles. Took it to a transmission shop and after diagnosis, had it .rebuilt. Rebuilding partially solved the problem, a little improvement from before. Took it back for more checking until finally, after valve body assembly replacement, shudder is gone.

The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle hesitated before jolting into the next gear. There is a transmission shudder when traveling around 30-40 MPH as well as sporadically when increasing speed. Recently, there is a very hard shift/jolt when transmission is shifting from 2nd to 3rd. The issue is caused by a combination of a faulty torque converter and a software glitch in the engine control module (ECM). This is a safety hazard, and I contacted Toyota dealership in Vineland who told me that they can't do anything. However, to fix the problem that Toyota issued the recall themselves, Toyota dealers need to replace to the torque converter and update the ECM software. I am reaching out to the NHTSA because this is a safety hazard, and I hope you are able to help me.

The vehicle has an issue with the radio the steering wheel controls do not work the touch screen does not work the buttons around the radio does not work there is also an issue with the transmission between 20 mph and 25 mph in extreme shutter happens that cuts off goes away there is no transmission light lit there is no check engine light lit I am completely at a loss to figuring out the repair I do not want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to have it repaired with a mechanic shop I have noticed that with the 2014 Toyota Camry 95% of the vehicles all have the same issue transmission shutter and the electrical issue with the radio this is a very extremely common issue and I wish they would have it recalled and repaired because Toyota Camry 2014 is a very good reliable vehicle only it has issues and it has issues with a lot of the exact same vehicle I have read forum after forum in regards to the radio I cannot repair it I had tried to replace the entire unit and the unit that I had replaced it with is doing the exact same thing I am terrified to open the transmission because nine times out of 10 I will not figure out the issue I could pay thousands and thousands of dollars to have the transmission replaced or repaired but I don't feel like it should be the owners issue or responsibility to repair the vehicle when 90% of the vehicles out here have the exact same issues due to manufacturer issue really hoping they recall this it will give Toyota a better look I have also noticed that no matter how many times I reset the tire pressure sensor monitor and ensure that all tires have the correct amount of air that the tire light will not go off and will not go away these issues have been around for a very long time since I've had the vehicle and no matter the amount of time and amount of money I spend putting into the vehicle for parts the issues will not go away

I am unsure about the exact cause. But upon some research I have noticed there is an open recall for same model of Car which involved Torque Converter replacement and ECM software update. I have been noticing the exact same issue when I see shudder and Vehicle seems to stop slow down significantly before accelerating and any time I am resuming after Red Light. Which is extremely safety concerns. I want to file a complaint so we can have Toyota Addess this for us.

The vehicle has a shudder problem related to the transmission. This problem was fixed back in 2015 and has persisted since I have owned the vehicle. I have had a vibration at different points of speed that would stop when you let off the gas or accelerate more. It doesn't do it beyond 60mph. I've had my vehicle in the dealership twice. 1st they told me my rear brakes were siezed to the rotors. I changed brakes, rotors, and shims on all wheels. Still didn't resolve the issue. Went into the dealership a 2nd time. They told me it was the right rear wheel bearing. I replaced that and still didn't resolve the issue. If Toyota can't figure out what is wrong with it, then who would? I can't afford to keep paying for a wrong diagnoses. I feel like my car will break down or even get into an accident because of this. There are no warning lights triggered when the vibrations happen. Please help me.

I bought this car 2 weeks ago and now I'm learning of this Torque Converter problem. The used car dealership claimed that the car did not have any mechanical issues and upon test driving the issue wasn't apparent. However, no sooner than driving off the lot I notice the shutter. All of these dealerships kick the can down the road and does not fix this issue. There should be a recall on these models 2012 - 2014 to fix this issue as it is very expensive for the average driver. Toyota knew about this issue from 2012 and did not fix the problem. They will only fix it when they are forced.

The torque converter in the transmission fails to catch the clutch when I am driving at high or low speeds both in residential and on highway lanes. I can be driving 10 mph or 65 mph and the car will vibrate causing the car to slow, shake and shutter. In serious cases, the torque converter will slip out of gear or wont allow you to shift into a certain gear leaving you stuck and stranded on the road or highway if you don't make it to the side of the road/highway fast enough. This is a serious safety issue. The toyota dealership has recognized this issue and said that I will have to come out of pocket myself since I have missed the campaign warranty period. (someone previously owned the car) we have had the car for year and just noticed the shuttering and shaking last year. We just paid the car off last year. We are heartbroken and frustrated.
