When entering a left hand turn at moderate speed, the vehicle will go into a lurching, bucking, hesitation period, usually when under slight or moderate acceleration. This results in an uncontrolled wobble that will eventually smooth out but can also result in a sudden burst of power that tends to rapidly propel the vehicle further to the left unless the throttle is quickly relaxed. Hard to describe, but the sensation feels like you are being “squirted” out of the turn. I first noticed this barely a month after I took possession of the machine and thought it might be a normal handling trait. As I became more acquainted with the various user’s groups, I find it was not normal and a much more serious problem that apparently hasn’t been successfully addressed by the manufacturer over the years it has been reported. Unlike some of the others who have reported similar occurrences, my vehicle has not displayed any error codes on the display screen, nor has it gone into a limp mode. Due to these conditions, I will not take this vehicle on any road trips for fear of being stranded or involved in an accident being caused by this dangerous handling anomaly. I love this vehicle, but due to this issue, I don’t feel it is safe.

Common problem amongst Can Am Ryker riders. When making a sweeping left turn between 20-40 mph, the right front wheel will brake/accelerate on it's own and the bike will jerk. It also causes the right wheel to wobble forcing me to accelerate or decelerate to retain control of the bike. I quick google search produced hundreds of other riders experiencing the same issue and that BRP/Can Am does not have a permanent fix for this issue. I love riding my Ryker, but have avoided it for anything more than a couple mile ride to the store for fear of losing control or being rear ended when it decelerates on it's own. Please investigate.

Vehicle repeatedly goes in to limp mode for VSS faults related to steering codes. Dealers are unable to repair and report that many other of the same model have the same problem. Many other owners in the online community report the same issue with no fix in sight. When making left turns, the Ryker suddenly would ‘skip’ on the right hand side, as though it was lagging behind any time above about 35mph. This caused a safety concern because to keep with the speed of the road, the Ryker would begin to slip out of a turn and be unstable. No warning lights, brought to mechanic and they stated this was a common problem, enough that BRP has issued a service bulletin and they saw five with this problem in two weeks.

Bike intermittently goes into limp mode for VSS fault and codes related to the steering rate/yaw sensor. Had the problem confirmed and the manufacturer-recommended steering upgrade done by local Can-am dealer but the VSS fault and limp mode still happens, intermittently. My understanding, from reading forums online, is that this is a very common issue. I would rather they turn the VSS system off entirely than than have the vehicle be nearly unusable at random intervals. Getting slowed down to a max speed of 50 mph here in AZ where most of the highway speeds are 65 mph or higher, with no warning, is quite dangerous and nerve-wracking. I live right off of a 65 mph highway so driving a bike that randomly limits itself to 50 mph is not safe, let alone convenient.

ALL recalls and updates (including the NHTSA steering rebuild kit, and the fender kit) have been performed on this vehicle, yet it has a persistent issue. The vehicle stability system engages with zero warning and at any speed and road condition. This immediately restricts the RPM to 5200 maximum, or approximately 57mph on a flat, 54 on an incline, 60 on a downhill. I have nearly lost my life due to it kicking in: -on the onramp to the highway with 80mph traffic behind me and having to immediately dodge and weave to the shoulder -in a sloping turn and the sudden change in vehicle performance nearly threw me off the bike at 50mph This condition cannot be reset without specialized software and hardware that is cost prohibitive to purchase as a consumer. It has also kicked in -just driving home on a straightaway, at 45mph -after making a legal, slow u turn -in my neighborhood access road at 30mph There are no lemon laws for motorcycles in Florida. The dealership has changed every component of the electrical system possible and has performed extensive service. It has sat for nearly half a year collectively at the shop waiting on parts or for service to be performed, and this is the largest powersports dealer in my area. They are out of solutions, and I'm stuck with an unsafe, unpredictable machine that I refuse to curse someone else with. Attached is most recent service bill with detailed work.

When making left turns the computer causes the left turn to become unsafe, a feeling in the steering line a flat tire, or otherwise causing over steering and can result in accidents due to the faulty computer system. Issue appears to effect many Can Am Rykers, it is a known defect per the dealers, and even through 4 years of production Can Am has failed to resolve this known issue. The contact owns a 2023 Can Am Ryker. The contact stated that while making a sharp turn to the left or the right, the front end of the vehicle locked up without warning. On left hand turns only never right turns, if you are going over 30 mph the ABS/Stability controls turns on and make the wheels wobble and slows it down in the turn. This abrupt slow down cause vehicles behind me to slam on breaks because there is no brake lights warning them of the slow down. I took it to a shop and after a month in the shop, they replaced the yaw rate sensor which did not fix the issue. I have put the bike in the garage for a month now because it is too dangerous to drive until this issue is solved.

When making left turns, vehicle's rear tire wobbles severely. When doing this, it also causes the handle bars to try and straighten out during the turn almost causing the vehicle to hit a curb or guardrail. This only happens on left turns, never on right turns. After incident, the rear tire suspension feels spongy. I have taken the vehicle back to the dealer for this issue. The had it for 5 weeks and could never reproduce the issue. I have also contacted Can Am BRP about this issue who only recommended that I take the vehicle back to the dealership.

My Ryker has developed the Yaw SAS fault codes C006C & C0063C being excessive play in steering components. It is a very wide known problem causing the trike to go into limp mode with no consumer fix without a dealer getting involved. This comes down to a poor designed bushing on the SAS sensor that fails due to turning stress on it. I am aware of the TSB 137209 which is also on my list of repairs. I have about 5600 miles on it when the trike went into limp mode leaving me with a top speed of 50 mph on the highway. This forced me to finish my 45 minute trip home at a very unsafe speed on the highway as I had no way to have it towed home> I will now have to find a way to a dealer thats over an hour away just to get a quote on the repairs as they are the only affordable way to clear the codes after repairs are done

My vehicle start to lose control when I drive around left or right corner the rear end felt like it was bucking or slipping. The VSS fault error and Limp Mode kicked in and the speed doesn't really matter once you are over 20 mph. My vehicle is at the dealership as of 8/13/23 to replace the pitman arm to see if that fix the problem. The VSS fault error happens about 4 times since I brought the vehicle.
