NHTSA complaint #11746441 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
While driving down the road at 60 mph the roof and side airbags deployed on both sides of the Truck with no collision only driving down the road. The vehicle was inspected by GM and they claiming no defect on their side. However Recall N202324251 Roof Rail Air Bag Inflator May Rupture, for other 2016 Chevy Silverado's 2500 exists. This is large safety issue and wondering if the VIN was missed given this happened for the same recall. GM Allegations department has said they will not pay to fix, but didn't provide the reason for the cause of the airbag deployment.

I was in an accident where a drunk driver pulled out in front of me. I waw traveling at 55 and he drive in front of me without stopping from a side road. I swerved to miss him while applying the brakes. We collided I hit him with the driver front fender, where it crushes the fender and started peeling the driver door back. After the impact I continued through a ditch up onto a hill and struck a tree around 6" in diameter. I believe I was doing 40-50 when I struck the other vehicle and 25 when I struck the tree. The air bags did not deploy.

NHTSA complaint #11700870 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
The vehicle was in a collision that occurred to the front of the vehicle causing the seat belts to lock up a burst of compressed air to come from the dash, the hazards to engage and the dome lights to engage, the vehicle then was taken into get repaired at a certified dealership, after dealing with the dealership and General Motors we find out the sensor did engage for the airbags to deploy but the airbags failed to deploy properly or break through the dash, the dealership and manufacturer are now not wanting to find out why this is doing this and just put a new airbag baffle in and call it a day.

We have been calling and trying to get this recall taken care of. Every time we call they never have the parts and "will let us know". Its getting frustrating getting these notices from different sources and not being able to take care of it. Please help us to het this done by directing us to a repair shop that has the parts available.

Rear roof rail airbag inflator endcap failure. The endcap of the steel inflator separated and ejected throught the roof liner, read passenger window and through the wall of a house. The vehicle was parked in the driveway at the time and was not running. I was next the the window at the time of failure and was narrowly missed by the end cap but was his by the full force of the passenger window and sustained minor abrasions and closed head trauma from the glass. A police report was filed, and the manufacturer was notified. The vehicle is currently at a dealership awaiting inspection by the manufacturer.

I had my truck serviced for the airbag recall in 2021 at Clint Newell auto in Roseburg Oregon, they did not have a necessary part to complete the job at the moment and I had moved out of town by the time they got it in. I just today brought it in and they said they did the second half of the recall but the component was not communicating. I was informed they would charge me to investigate why. I am writing to complain and seek resources. I cant afford to have the airbag problem investigated especially since it is likely their fault/negligence. The airbag light remains on and it is still a danger to me, also they were super rude and disorganized. Please help
NHTSA complaint #11670401 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
as mentioned by many customers the dash on the vehicles crack and GM refuses to pay for repairs. Now there is a Airbag recall that needs to be completed and I am told by dealer that the dash will crack more and get worse during the repair and they are not responsible for the damage. This is unacceptable and unsafe as it is costing me and consumers more money for a defective product.
NHTSA complaint #11659794 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
Another driver illegally turned left in front of this vehicle. the vehicles collided on each of their right front corners. The airbags failed to deploy and the shoulder belt did not restrain the driver and keep him striking his head on the steering wheel, and breaking a bone in his hand. this was a serious head-on collision that totaled both vehicles. The truck is currently at the salvage yard and is available for inspection. The driver's safety was put at risk because the two primary safety restraint systems failed. the problem has not been reproduced. Chevrolet is sending someone to download the crash data which will then be provided to their engineering department for review and analysis. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem were observed by the owner or driver before the accident.

The contact stated he sustained injuries on both his left and right hand and lower back, for which he was currently receiving treatment. No information was available on the other individual injured. The damage to the vehicle was on the front passenger's side. No warning light illuminated. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where it was pending a diagnosis however the frame was to be welded however due to the metal material the contact was concerned about it being back on the roadway. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.

NHTSA complaint #11631884 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
I believe all the dealership did was dust/armor all my air bag compartment door. It still has a 2013 takata air bag installed which was deployed somehow causing a can of axe body spray to explode which caused the dash, seat, and wiring including the compartment to burn/melt totaling my truck. I could have been killed if I was sitting their.

Been getting notification post cards about this airbag recall and called my dealer in June 2023 about getting the work done, and have not heard back from them to schedule anything. 11 months later I talked to them, and they say the part is hard to get, and they are waiting on the parts. Now I am 14 months past the time I called to schedule repairs and still no parts. I don't think this is being handled in a timely manner. Still driving around with a recalled airbag.
