I purchased this car previously owned. As I’ve had to drive it everyday. I notice the tires/wheels when turning left or right, when parking …the wheels tend to lock then I must put in muscle to turn and return to a straight position. This has gotten worse to the point I almost ended up on a curb last week. Someone needs to check this vehicle because something is wrong. I keep impuestos with the maintenance but this locking of tires/wheels and then the constant shudder afterwards is dangerous. I’m appalled there is no recall or at the very least a free diagnostic or inspection at a dealer. I already told my family to sue if I die or get hurt in this Tahoe. Totally unacceptable

Front passenger wheel has a fracture. The structural integrity of the wheel is compromised and is causing the tire to leak air, which is dangerous and can cause loss of vehicle control and damage to suspension or brakes. It could also cause dangerous blowouts, which causes a safety concern for me and others on the road if that happens. The problem has been confirmed by the dealership where the vehicle was purchased. Photos were taken and submitted to GM for warranty. The warranty was denied. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone else other than the dealership where the vehicle was purchased. The only warning lamps were low tire pressure warning. The fracture was found during inspection as to the cause of the low tire pressure.

Alignment and suspend has vehicle shaking,rumbling and shifts all over when hitting a bump in road. J.B.A. Chevrolet had detected alignment/suspension problem. Had check engine light come on but Carmax claimed it was a history code. The transmission had to be replaced. Still experiencing multiple problems with said vehicle.

Wheels corroded internally causing beed to not seal correctly. Dealer said it’s a “known” problem with Aluminum wheels and offer no warranty or coverage beyond normal warranty on vehicle. Tire shops say it is a known issue.

GM does not install TPMS devices in spare tires. I had a flat tire in snowy conditions 100+ miles from the nearest place for assistance. After putting on the spare tire the DIC (driver information center) displayed no air in tire. That’s because a TPMS doesn’t exist in spare tires. I started driving a my four wheel drive turned off. I turned it back on and after a very short distance it turned off again. Since the vehicle determined I didn’t have air in one of the tires (spare previously mentioned) the four wheel drive shouldn’t work to prevent damage. I needed the four wheel drive in the snow so I had to proceed at approximately 25 mph. This is a safety issue for not only my vehicle but others on the roadways. I contacted the dealer that had no idea about the problem and neither did the national GM customer support center. There is a tool that “tells” the vehicle where each tire is located so that is low tire pressure occurs the driver would know which tire needs attention. If a TPMS was installed from the factory and a flat occurred, spare installed then the four wheel drive would function. If a flat subsequently occurred the driver would still be alerted but wouldn’t know tire was involved. Visual check would find it. Either this or have GM provide an override so the trip could be continued safely. I believe that this situation applies to any four wheel drive vehicle not just GM and should be resolved if the NHTSB would initiate an investigation.

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe equipped with Good Year Tires, Tire Line: Wrangler Trail Runner AT, Tire Size: 275/60/R20, and DOT number M6W0JA3R3121. The contact stated that while entering her driveway, the driver's side front tire, wheel, and hub detached from the vehicle and crashed into an unknown parked vehicle located in the driveway. The contact was unconscious for a period of time, and she woke to the vehicle sliding against the parked vehicle and garage. The contact stated that she was unconscious, but no medical attention was provided. There were no reports of air bag deployment, fire, or a police report filed. OnStar notified her that her front driver's side tire had a problem. The contact's neighbor, who is an independent mechanic, stated that the tire broke and detached. The contact called a local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage of the tire and the vehicle was approximately 14,200.

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to an independent mechanic, the mechanic discovered that all four rims were pitted and peeled which had caused all four tires to not hold air. The contact was informed that due to the rim defect, all four rims needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but contested that the failure was not related to a manufacturing defect of the rims but was instead related to the roads in the State where the contact resides. The vehicle was not replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH, he heard an abnormal sound coming from the front tires. The contact stated that the abnormal tire sound was constant and was occurring at various speeds. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was occasionally failed to start. The contact stated that there was no starter motor sound or even the sound of clicking when the ignition key was turned. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure had reoccurred. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,844.

This Tahoe comes with a full size spare. This model includes Brembo front brakes. The included spare cannot be installed/mounted to the front axle as the wheel is undersized and will not fit over the brake calipers. None of my ordering information nor MSRP label or model information on Chevrolet.com points out the included spare tire/wheel cannot be used in all positions of the SUV. Finding this out at 5am in the dark and drizzle of a cold Michigan morning on the side of US23 southbound is not the least bit safe.

I believe it’s a wheel hub bearing that’s coming loose or tie rods I’m not sure and One time the emergency parking brake engage on me and I had to pull over to the side and wasn’t able to drive it. While driving on a residential street during daylight hours, on a clear day at approximately 20 miles per hour the right wheel on my car dislodged. This caused me to lose control of steering the vehicle and strike a parked car. There were people walking about on the sidewalk at the time and other cars traveling. When I exited the car I saw that the passenger side was completely on the ground and there were broken pieces and liquid coming from underneath the car. The axel was broken with a clean break. The car was then towed to the dealership where I was informed it could not stay. My insurance company then towed it to their repair shop where upon assessing the damage they could tell that this was not caused by a collision. General Motors along with our independent investigator examined the parts and vehicle. Leaving me without a vehicle for 4 months. Our Insurance investigator determined this was a defect in manufacturing and GM did not agree. General Motors will not communicate with us any further on this matter. Some of the repairs that were made was the left front and CV axel, also the left front aluminum steering knuckle was missing. This should be investigated for metallurgical discrepancies by an independent lab. While the car was being inspected there was a recall to the power steering that may apply to the vehicle. I would like for the NHTSA to investigate this issue. The car has been repaired and is in my possession and my insurance company has all of the reports, documents, and parts regarding the investigation. I also have pictures immediately following and a witness to the incident. Had a been traveling on a highway at a higher rate of speed this could have been fatal. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

2017 Tahoe Premier 4WD with 53,000 miles. Originally had a tire going low so I took it to a Discount Tire to find leak. Upon inspection, they found significant corrosion on the inside of the wheel. After finding this out, I found that NHTSA along with GM issued a Service Bulletin for this problem. (Bulletin No: 08-03-10-006G). I called GM corporate and put together a case number then took it to a GM dealer for verification. Upon inspection, it was found that all four wheels were severely corroded and needed replacing. I was informed that GM is only giving a 20% assistance on the replacements with $3,800 out of my pocket. I do not agree. This should not just apply to a 3yr/36,000 mile warranty. This is a known defective product from GM and should be replaced with no out of pocket expense to me. This should not be considered normal wear and tear. Furthermore, with the possibility of tire pressure loss, this could cause an accident that could harm my family and potentially others.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving 70 mph, the vehicle would shake violently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the front-end alignment was performed however, the failure recurred. The dealer was made aware of the recurring failure and informed the contact to replace the tires. The vehicle was taken to another dealer where the tires were replaced however, the failure persisted. The contact then contacted the first dealer and was informed by the dealer that the failure may be due to the front passenger's side bent rim and needed to take it to a rim specialist to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 126,000.

TIRES HAVE 23,000 MILES ON THEM AND HAVE BEEN ROTATED EVERY OTHER OIL CHANGE SINCE BRAND NEW AT THE DEALER. ONE OF THE TIRES HAS A SLIPPED BELT AT ONLY 23,000 MILES. WHILE TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65-70MPH (POSTED SPEED LIMIT OF 65) MY 2016 CHEVROLET TAHOE SEEMED TO HAVE NO STEERING, SIMILAR TO HOW A STEERING WHEEL FEELS WHEN VEHICLE IS OFF, AS THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING OVER A KNOLL WITH A SLIGHT CURVE TO THE LEFT. THE ACCELERATOR WAS PRESSED TO CHECK TO SEE IF VEHICLE WAS IN FACT STILL RUNNING, WHICH IT WAS, BUT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT MOVE. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AT WHICH TIME THE TAHOE DARTED LEFT INTO THE OTHER LANE WHERE ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING, CAUSING THAT VEHICLE TO HIT THE TAHOE IN THE DRIVERS SIDE BACK DOOR. THE TAHOE THEN CONTINUED BROADSIDE UNTIL IT BROKE FREE OF IMPACT WITH THE OTHER VEHICLE, AND TURNED BACKWARD INTO THE MEDIAN. THE TAHOE TRAVELLED BACKWARDS THRU THE MEDIAN FOR APPROXIMATELY 80FT AT WHICH TIME THE ACCELERATOR WAS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR IN AN ATTEMPT TO KEEP THE TAHOE OUT OF NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC. THE TAHOE CAME OUT OF THE MEDIAN BROADSIDE, BACK INTO THE LEFT LANE & STOPPED. THE STEERING WHEEL NEVER MOVED DURING THIS ACCIDENT. THE STATE TROOPER SUGGESTED THAT THE FRONT WHEELS WERE LOCKED THE ENTIRE TIME BASED ON THE BLACK MARKS IN THE ROAD. ALSO, EVEN WITH A DIRECT SIDE IMPACT BY THE OTHER VEHICLE, THE SIDE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
