The contact owned a 2022 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated that while her son was driving approximately 65 MPH on I-85 in the left lane, the driver noticed a BMW quickly approaching. The driver attempted to change lanes to the center lane, and the rear end of the vehicle slid out and the vehicle fishtailed into the other vehicle in the far-right lane, traveled across three lanes of traffic and crashed into a brick wall median and then went across all three lanes. The contact stated that after crashing into the brick wall, the seat belt became unlatched. There were no warning lights illuminated. The driver sustained injuries to the wrist, which had struck the steering wheel, and the left hand which struck the door on impact. Medical attention was provided at the scene by the EMT and at the hospital the following day. The steering wheel air bag, driver's side side-curtain air bags, and passenger’s side air bags deployed during the crash. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The insurance company later towed the vehicle to a tow lot. The local dealer was contacted and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and sent an investigator to inspect the vehicle. The inspector determined that the driver’s seat belt was not latched during the crash after performing six push-pull tests on the seat belt. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

My seatbelt seemed a bit faulty when I purchased the car. It was slow to retract and at some points wouldn’t retract unless I played with the seatbelt. Three years in to owning the car it still won’t retract fully and is at the point where it won’t come out to a safe distance that allows me to wear my seatbelt. As for the electrical defaults, there are times when I am driving and the display, between my speedometer and rpm dials, turned off. So would my center display, yet my radio continued to play. There were no warning signs or signals when that would happen. It is always random.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, while attempting to fasten the passenger’s side seat belt, the seat belt failed to retract. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the retractor mechanism had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

the seat belts in the rear are guided through a metal D ring that has a plastic housing. This housing cracks and prevents the seat belts from retracting. This issue relays to most dodge, jeep chrysler products that all utilize the same part for front and rear seat belts. The issue has been acknowledged for front seat belts but not rear.

Tipman module is melting and has a burning smell and black marks where there has been spark. Fire hazard. Draws too many amps from headlights. Drivers side seatbelt won't register and seatbelt airbag light is on.

Seat belt buckles have stop locking on drivers side and back seat belt after putting a carseat in the back. Front end driver side sounds like a crinkled noise and steering wheel feels like car wants to go a different direction then you actually turn.

I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR 11,000 IN SEPTEMBER OF 2019, SINCE HAVING THIS VEHICLE I HAD AND HAVE MANY ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. OCTOBER MY STERO TOUCH SCREEN STOP WORKING AND MY GAS TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I GOT IT FIX FOR OVER 500.00 THE FOLLOWING MONTH MY KEY FOB SENSOR WENT OUT AND THIS WAS THE IN THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER. THE VEHICLE IS A DODGE CHALLENGER SUPPOSED TO BE AN SXT ON THE CAR FAX BUT IN PERSON THE MOTOR IS NOT A SXT THIS VEHICLE HAS NO ORIGINAL PARTS OF DODGE. THE CHALLENGER HAS AFTERMARKET WIRES, HEADLIGHTS FROM ASIA, AND WIRES EVERY BY THE MOTOR WHERE OPEN WIRES SHOULD NOT SUPPOSED TO BE WITCH IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE OFF THE LOT. THE CHALLENGER AIRBAGS PLUS OTHER MECHANICAL MECHANICS ISSUES WAS REPORTED FROM BRANDON DODGE DEALERSHIP WITCH QLD WAS AWARE OF AND DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE BEFORE SELLING ME THE DODGE CHARGER EVEN MY SEATBELTS IS UNSAFE. THE MONTH OF JANUARY, 2020 I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON THE INTERSTATE AND MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF I HAD TO DRIVE TO AUTOZONE I GOT A NEW BATTERY THAT SAME MONTH I APPROACHED THE MANAGER OF QLD AND INFORMED HIM WITH EVERYTHING THAT'S GOING ON WITH THE VEHICLE THE MANAGER RESPONDED THAT'S A PERSONAL MATTER AND I WAS LEFT ON MY ON TO CARE OF THIS CAR THAT I CAN NOT AFFORD TO FIX A AND PAY FOR MONTHLY VEHICLE THAT IS NOT RELIABLE. MARCH 27, 2020 I WAS DRIVING FROM MY APARTMENT COMPLEX AND MY POWER STEERING PUMP FELL OUT OF THE BOTTOM OF MY VEHICLE I LATER ON THAT DAY GOT THE CAR LIFTED AND TO FOUND OUT THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS ZIPPED TIED AND NOT SECURED TO A BRACKET. I FEEL THAT THIS COMPANY IS JUST LOOKING FOR A DOLLAR AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT WHAT TYPE OF DANGEROUS UNSAFE HAZARDOUS VEHICLES THEY ARE SELLING TO CUSTOMERS WHO ARE UNAWARE OF THESE ISSUES.

NHTSA complaint #11111027 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL NOT EXTEND. IT IS STUCK WITHOUT ANY SLACK. I AM NOT ABLE TO PUT ON THE SEAT BELT TO DRIVE. BIG SAFTEY HAZARD. NOTHING HAPPENED THAT CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN. THE SEAT BELT WORKED FINE THE PREVIOUS DAY. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE AS I TRIED TO PUT ON THE SEAT BELT BUT IT WOULDNT MOVE. ITS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE AN ACCIDENT CAN HAPPEN AT ANYTIME AND THERE IS NOTHING PREVENTING THE DRIVER FROM HITTING THEIR HEAD INTO THE STEERING WHEEL OR FLYING THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. MY CAR IS ONLY 7 YEARS OLD. I FEEL THAT THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD FIX THIS ISSUE AT NO COST TO THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 DODGE CHALLENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 54 MPH, THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A CEMENT MEDIAN CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO FLIP OVER MULTIPLE TIMES. DURING THE CRASH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEATBELT FAILED TO SECURE THE DRIVER WHO WAS THROWN FROM THE VEHICLE AND SUSTAINED FRACTURED RIBS, A FRACTURED LEFT ARM, AND FRACTURES TO BOTH LEGS. THE 3-YEAR-OLD REAR DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER SUSTAINED A HEAD INJURY. BOTH RECEIVED MEDICAL TREATMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE LOCAL DEALER CURTSY DODGE (LOCATION UNKNOWN) WAS PREVIOUSLY NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.

THE CAR STARTED DOING A REAR WHEEL HOP IN SECOND GEAR CHANGE AS ALREADY REPORTED TO DODGE. DODGE HAS OFFERED TO REPLACE THE CAR PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT VIA A MR MIKE MACDONALD. THIS WHEEL HOP WAS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED TO 3 DODGE DEALERS WHO SAID THIS WAS "NORMAL". ON THE OFFER TO REPLACE THE CAR I WAS TOLD TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR UNTIL THE REPLACEMENT CAME. I SHOULD HAVE NOT TAKEN THAT OFFER. THE CAR ALMOST KILLED ME. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE SEAT BELT DID NOT RESTRAIN ME, AS MY HEAD SLAMMED INTO THE STEERING WHEEL. MULTIPLE CASES OF AIR BAGS ON THESE CARS NOT DEPLOYING HAS COME UP IN GOOGLE SEARCHES. BOTH DRIVER SIDE TIRES RUPTURES WHEN THE CAR WENT SIDEWAYS FOR THE SECOND TIME AFTER WHAT I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WAS THE THROTTLE BEING STUCK. I CAN PROVIDE IMAGES LATER AFTER THE HOSPITAL OF THE TIRE HOP MARKS. DODGE SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR SELLING A COFFIN ON WHEELS. ODDLY, MR. MIKE MACDONALDS PHONE SENDS ME STRAIGHT TO CUSTOMER SERVICE NOW.
