The interior door panel on my 2019 Dodge Charger began to separate/warp from the door frame on the Front drivers and Front Passengers door panels. The vehicle had approximately 32000 miles when the issue started. The plastic trim piece is lifting and peeling away from the door next to the window sill, creating a sharp edge and a gap. This separation is causing the door lock mechanism to bind and become difficult to operate. The window operation is also negatively affected, as the glass rubs against the warped panel. I have also had to replace the window motor a little over a year ago and it is again starting to fail. AJ Dohmann now Geaux Dodge in Plaquamian Louisiana replaced this. This defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety because it could impede egress from the vehicle in an emergency due to the malfunctioning door lock. It may also compromise the integrity of the side curtain airbag deployment area. I contacted the manufacturer/dealer on 02/2020, and they indicated this is a known issue but not a safety recall, so they refused to cover the repair under warranty. The issue has reoccurred/worsened and is present on multiple doors. There were no injuries or a crash as a result of this issue. Photos of the defect are attached to this complaint.

Rear doors cannot be opened from the inside when the child proof locks are in the open position, or the locked position. They can only be opened for the inside when unlocked from the drivers unlock panel.

To whom ot may concern my 2019 dodge charger headlight went out on driver side after replacement light it still didn't work and replacement of box during the process of taking bub out bulb silver housing box was extremely hot…so hot it burned his hand and then he ask me to feel the light and also it was extremely hot after inspection of the car for hour in a half the hornest was melting I looked up the recall on those vehicle and seeing there was same recall of this issue on older models there is no way that hornest would burn unless it was extremely hot Every charger I see light is out also and I believe noone can find out the problem my mechanic told me hornest was so hot it burned out When I felt the light it burned me and thos is unsafe for this light to be that hot with no kind of fan or nothing When i say every car I see headlights are out I would like to discuss how to proceed from this issue If the issue is not the bulb then issue itz getting to hot and burning the hornest

I brought my vehicle in for a recall to replace the airbags and headliner. When I received my car back from the dealership (Union City Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram), the vehicle was returned with a broken windshield, water intrusion leading to mold, corroded and missing components, and now both rear doors do not function properly. These issues are safety concerns and were not present before the service. This dealership severely compromised the safety and usability of my car during a recall repair. I believe this warrants investigation and potential oversight from NHTSA, especially as this stemmed from a recall they were authorized to repair.

The interior door panels on both front doors of my 2016 Dodge Charger SXT have warped and pulled away from the frame near the window area. The defect appears to be heat-related, and the panels have progressively worsened over time. This issue has not only affected the cosmetic integrity of the vehicle, but it also poses a safety risk by potentially interfering with side airbag deployment or window functionality. I believe this could compromise occupant safety in the event of a side-impact collision. The issue is visible and can be inspected upon request. The problem has not been officially confirmed by a Dodge dealer, but it is widely documented online and the subject of an active class action lawsuit [XXX] et al. v. FCA US LLC). I reported this defect to CarComplaints.com over three years ago and have seen other owners report identical issues with Chargers from similar model years. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or an insurance representative. There were no warning lights or messages related to this issue. The defect gradually became visible approximately two years after I purchased the vehicle. To date, no resolution or support has been provided by Dodge or FCA despite the known and recurring nature of this problem. The contact owns a 2017 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the front passenger's side door panel was detaching. The contact stated that the infotainment system screen was delaminating, causing the screen touchpad to engage vehicle functions independently. Additionally, the contact stated that upon driving the vehicle out of the garage, the contact became aware that oil had leaked from the vehicle onto the ground. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the oil was leaking from the O-ring in the engine. The mechanic determined that the O-ring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

I experienced an issue with the trunk lights on my 2018 Dodge Charger SXT Plus, which would not illuminate when the trunk was open. Additionally, the dashboard display failed to indicate that the trunk was open. This posed a significant safety concern, as the car allowed me to drive without alerting me that the trunk was open. Normally, when the trunk is ajar, the vehicle displays a notification and prevents the car from being driven without addressing the open trunk. However, with the broken latch, no such alert occurred, and the car could be driven with the trunk accidentally left open. Furthermore, the remote start feature, which typically only works when all doors (including the trunk) are closed, was compromised. The car could be remotely started via the keyfob regardless of whether the trunk was open or closed. This is a serious safety concern, as the vehicle could be driven or left running with the trunk open without the driver’s knowledge. This repair cost $301 to fix. Repair Details: Date of Repair: January 17, 2023 Description of repair from dealership: Trunk lights and dashboard indicator were non-functional, and no alert was provided when the trunk was left open. The latch was internally shorted, causing the malfunction. After the latch was replaced, the lights and notifications worked correctly, and the vehicle's safety functions returned to normal.

Interior door panels are letting loose and detaching from frame. Seems seems to be rather unsafe with the side airbags and all. Many forums online from Dodge Charger owners with same issue on all (4) doors. We need help getting Dodge to recall this issue and help make it right. We are getting quotes of up to $3,500 to complete the repair and replace interior door panels.

Car has strong smell of gas inside. Seeing by the other reports here that there is a regular problem with the fuel pump causing this issue. Is a safety hazard for obvious reasons. Drive shaft failed last year at less than 60,000 miles, but luckily had it replaced under dealership warranty. Others have not been so lucky, as I can see in these reports. Like tons of other reports here, door panels are also warping and disconnecting from the inside of the car. A completely cheap and poor design, and am shocked to see that nearly EVERY problem I've experienced with this car is COMMONLY experienced by other owners of this car. No idea how there haven't been more recalls, it's criminal that owners of this vehicle are left to foot the bill (THOUSANDS of $$$) for all of its defects.

MOST OF ALL THE DASHBOARD IS UNPLEEING FROM TOP OF THE DASH AND DOORS MIDE SECTION. STEERING IS BOUNCHING WHILE DRIVING ON SOMEWHAT UNEVEN ROAD HERE IN THE CITY. Paint STARTING TO PEEL ON THE HOOD. I BELIVE THAT IT IS A SAFTY HASSARED DUE TO IN EMERGENCY TO GET IN OR OUT OF THE CAR WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT. THE STEERING HAS A BIG PROBLEM THAT. HaD A ACCEDENT6 ON 2017 MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IT WAS HEAD ONTO AROCK WALL FENCE.
