The rear view camera image suddenly became inverted (upside down) and the guide lines normally displayed disappeared. This defect appears permanent. Due tot the camera malfunction it is easy to be disoriented and collide with object behind the vehicle. On several occasions I ran into parking lot dividers and planters.

The driver side passenger "door ajar" sensor stays on constantly and is unsafe because we aren't sure if the door is truly open or not? We are scared to have passengers sit on that side of the vehicle for fear of the door flying open and causing injury by falling out or other injury because the sensor does not tell us accurately as to whether the door is truly closed all the way or not. It also drains the battery over time due to constantly being on. This problem has been going on for 2 years. We had it looked at by a mechanic. We were told they can replace the sensor, but it would likely go out again because this is a manufacturer defect, and a well known problem for Ford Edges as well as other Ford models, but they refuse to issue a recall. This is EXTREMELY UNSAFE. The other safety concern I have is the need for a recall on our VIN SPECIFIC rear view camera. The screen went blank and then, when it came back on, the image is flipped upside down and has vertical lines across the screen making it extremely difficult to see. This is a crucial component to safety. This happened approximately 1 year ago. This is EXTREMELY UNSAFE as we can back over and KILL someone if we don't go super slow and intensely observe the camera while in reverse. This is even more dangerous in poorly lit places. There were no warnings or sensors indicating a problem with the camera. It just went blank and then PERMANENTLY flipped the image upside down.

Rear view (back up) camera works only on and off. The screen goes black and a warning to contact the dealer shows up. It is getting more and more frequent lately. I am having a very hard time in crowded parking lots. Now it has stopped completely.

The first issue I am having is that the vehicle is telling me to put my car in park when it’s already in park. This has been going on for many months now. My second issue is when I fill my tank to full and try to start it, it has a hard time turning over. This has been going on for many months now. My third issue is that my front wipers will not turn off no matter what I do. And it’s been weeks. The fourth issue I have is that two of my tires keep leaking air since I have purchased a vehicle from the dealership and I have had it in and they claim they sealed it but they are still leaking. So I constantly have to fill them up with air. This has been going on since I bought it from the dealership.

WE DO NOT HAVE AUTOMATIC WIPERS. WHILE LOOKING ONLINE TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHY THIS WAS HAPPENING, DISCOVERED MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON THIS YEAR, MAKE & MODEL. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY!

MY 2013 FORD EDGE HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE DRIVER'S DOOR LATCH SENSOR. THE SENSOR DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY AND THE VEHICLE COMPUTER IS CONSTANTLY THINKING THAT MY DOOR IS AJAR. IT ILLUMINATES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS CAUSING DISTRACTIONS AND SAFETY ISSUES FOR ME TRYING TO DRIVE AND OTHER DRIVERS AROUND ME, ESPECIALLY SINCE I WORK 3RD SHIFT AND DO A LOT OF NIGHTTIME DRIVING. IT HAS DRAINED MY BATTERY NUMEROUS TIMES DUE TO IT SETTING MY ALARM OFF INTERMITTENTLY BECAUSE IT ALL OF THE SUDDEN THINKS MY DOOR IS OPEN WHEN I HAVE IT PARKED. I HAVE READ SO MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS ISSUE. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL BY FORD YEARS AGO AS THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. FORD SENT A LETTER OUT STATING THAT THEY WOULD DO A ONE-TIME COURTESY FIX FOR PEOPLE HAVING THIS PROBLEM, HOWEVER, THEY LISTED REQUIREMENTS FOR MILEAGE AND AGE OF VEHICLE THAT YOU HAD TO MEET TO HAVE THEM FIX IT. SO EVEN THOUGH I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR SINCE 35,000 MILES, THEY TOLD ME THAT I DIDN'T QUALIFY. FORD IS NOT GOING TO STEP UP ON THEIR OWN AND BE RESPONSIBLE ABOUT THIS, THEY NEED IT TO BE FORCED ON THEM TO DO SO.

DRIVING ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AT 70 MILES PER HOUR ON STRAIGHT LEVEL AND SMOOTH SECTION OF HIGHWAY WHEN A SUDDEN LOUD EXPLOSION OCCURRED, AND GLASS COULD BE HEARD FALLING. DRIVER STOPPED TO ASSESS DAMAGE. GLASS HAD SHATTERED AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE STATIONARY PORTION OF THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF. THERE WAS NO FLYING ROAD DEBRIS AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THERE WAS NO APPARENT EVIDENCE OF IMPACT. THIS APPEARS TO BE EITHER A PROBLEM WITH THE MANUFACTURING OF THE GLASS OR THE WAY IN WHICH IT IS ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE. TEMPERATURE WAS NEAR FREEZING AND WARMING.

DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS KEEPS DOME LIGHTS ON AND SIDE MIRROR LIGHTS ALONG WITH THE DOORS NOT LOCKING WHICH IS A SECURE/SAFETY ISSUE. ALSO THE FACT THAT THE DOME LIGHT CAN BLIND THE DRIVER AT NIGHT AND THIS RUNS THE BATTERY DOWN. FORD DEALERSHIPS SAY ITS A KNOWN DEFECT FOR NEW AND USED VEHICLES AND I OPENED UP A CASE WITH FORD AND THEY REFUSE TO OFFSET THE COSTS TO FIX IT. THEY JUST SAY KEEP YOUR RECEIPT IN CASE THEY EVER DO A RECALL. THERE IS A PETITION ON LINE BECAUSE IT AFFECTS SO MANY PEOPLE. FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS TO AVOID LAWSUITS! ITS A BURDEN TO CONSUMERS BECAUSE THE COST TO FIX IS OVER $500 AT A DEALERSHIP. THIS HAPPENS WHEN STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. MY WIFE AND BABY ALMOST RAN OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE THE LIGHT WON'T GO OFF AT NIGHT AND BLINDS HER VIEW. PLUS IT HAS LEFT HER STRANDED AT WORK WITH A DEAD BATTERY. SEE LINK FOR DETAILS.
