vehicle: 2015 Ford F-150 XLT, 5.0L V8, approximately 148,000 miles. I previously had the related recall/software update performed on this vehicle. On two separate occasions the transmission performed a sudden, uncommanded downshift while driving at highway speeds. On one of those occasions the rear tires locked up / skidded. There was no warning, no driver input, and no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) were stored or displayed. After these events, a Ford dealership inspected the transmission and found metal debris in the transmission pan. This is how the current transmission problem was discovered. My symptoms match the defect described in NHTSA recall 26V237 / Ford campaign 26S28 (and the prior investigation PE25002 / EA26001): intermittent loss of Transmission Range Sensor signal due to degradation of the molded lead frame, resulting in unintended downshifts that can cause rear-wheel lock-up. I am requesting that Ford review this case for coverage or goodwill assistance related to the known lead-frame defect and the subsequent internal transmission damage.

The timing belt/chain is failing on F-150 trucks and multiple people have sent in issues. i think from 2015-2018. It looks like you are already looking at other Fords with same issue. what i was told is that there could be sudden stalling: If the timing is thrown off or the chain snaps, the engine cuts out instantly. Losing power steering and engine power while driving in traffic creates an immediate crash hazard. Severe Misfires and Power Loss: A slipping chain causes rough idling, violent shaking, and an inability to accelerate which happened to the truck. Due to this i had to get mine fixed in June of 2024 i have attached the invoices. I tried to upload invoice but said there was an error

I was on the highway and my truck suddenly decreased speed rapidly. Luckily I was able to pull onto a side road and get to safety but it was extremely dangerous and scary situation. The dealer has confirmed the symptoms fit the issue with the recall. Since Ford does not have a fix for this solution yet until July 1 my vehicle is unable to be driven or repaired leaving me stranded without a vehicle. However, this is a very concerning safety issue and my family could have been severely impacted traveling on the highway.

The vehicle lost power rolling from a stop sign, felt like it was trying to shift but wouldn’t then went into limp mode, drove fine the next day. The faulty lead frame is failing, it has no other cause. I refuse to drive and put myself and others in danger to prove it. The dealer said they couldn’t cover it because the code is not covered in the recall, they recommended a new valve body or transmission, they didn't even say why. They were able to recreate it wrench light. P2704 is the code they claimed with the 2 leading causes are valve body, they said my fluid was clean and the vehicle has up to date service with no previous sign of wear, or the lead frame going out, the ACTIVELY recalled part. I tried contacting ford directly and they refused assistance beyond “tow it to a different dealer” and then ended the conversation. It is a safety issue that I will not wait to have break if there is clear signs of it happening.

My 2015 Ford F-150 experienced a sudden, dangerous loss of throttle power while driving, forcing an emergency stop on the side of the road. The vehicle is now locked in a hard electronic no-start/no-crank condition. We diagnosed the vehicle and pulled active, stored trouble codes P0706 and P0707 for the Transmission Range Sensor (TRS).This failure matches the exact defect described in NHTSA Campaign 26V237 / Ford Recall 26S28. However, Ford Corporate and the local dealership (Washington Ford in PA) are actively refusing to provide an emergency diagnostic scan, towing, or physical parts replacement, claiming they will not honor the remedy until June 30th. This has left a hazardous, disabled vehicle stranded on my property. They have acknowledged this meets the criteria of the safety recall but want me to pay for the towing of the disabled vehicle, diagnostics, and repair upfront including the lead frame which the recall notice specifically states should be replaced because the codes were thrown before reprogramming.

Ford has acknowledged the defect (recall 26S28). · my truck experienced the dangerous downshift and wheel lockup. · Ford has no fix available until June 30th, leaving me without a safe vehicle. · Ford is refusing to provide a loaner or rental. The wheel locked on me and causing the vehicle to be uncontrollable, in wet condition. Causes a near fatal accident. I do have a dash Camera recording to prove my case.

Molded lead frame sudden downshifts to first third or fifth gear would have to pull over to the side of the road/highway and shut the truck off and restart it to get it to go away it went from happening every 50-75 miles to the point where it would happen every 1-5 miles or less when it would down shift to first gear it would lock the rear wheels and almost caused me to get in multiple accidents happened right after I bought the truck 1/27/26 all the way until 3/02/26 when I was forced to get it fixed so I could drive the truck properly

1. System Failed: Power Train (Transmission). Component Failed: The 6R80 6-speed automatic transmission, specifically the internal lead frame and the direct drum. Inspection: No, the failed unit was replaced on December 19, 2025, but itemized diagnostic reports and repair invoices from both a Ford dealer and an independent shop are available for inspection. 2. The vehicle experienced sudden, unexpected downshifting and a temporary loss of power while in motion. These incidents occurred frequently and randomly, particularly while accelerating or traversing inclines, creating "unsafe driving scenarios" where the vehicle could have been rear-ended or lost traction due to abrupt gear changes. Furthermore, the vehicle eventually entered "limp mode," where it would "buck" during shifts and fail to accelerate under load, leaving the driver vulnerable in traffic. 3. Yes, by both. Independent Center: Super Tech Automotive confirmed on December 11, 2025, that the transmission line pressure dropped from 158 psi to 20 psi under load, causing the vehicle to go into "limp mode". Dealer: South West Ford Service Department verified the concerns on December 16, 2025, documenting a "torque converter shudder" and "direct drum failure" with "excessive metal debris in fluid". 4. Yes. The vehicle was inspected by a manufacturer-authorized dealer, South West Ford Service Department, on December 16, 2025 (Service Advisor Ryan Forbis; Transmission Specialist 'Dietrich'). 5. Yes. Symptoms: The symptoms first appeared in August 2025 as a "sudden, temporary loss of power or unexpected down-shifting". Warning Lamps: Initially, no warning lights or error codes were produced, which prevented early detection during multiple diagnostic attempts. Later Symptoms: On December 11, 2025, the SES (Service Engine Soon) Light finally appeared when the truck entered "limp mode". Prior to the total failure, the transmission also exhibited "harsh/jerky downshifts" and would "hang up in gear".

Truck began reviving at high idle after throwing a check engine light, then wrench light as I was driving. I was able to safely get off the road. Shut it down wouldn't restart. I let it sit for 4 hrs, it started then I began driving again as there was no indication of an issue before. At 50mph it happened again. Truck began reviving at recline, check engine and wrench light. Shut it down again, and this process of restarting again hours later as nothing was wrong is still going on, 3 yrs of it. Check engine codes that do come up when it begins again all point to speed sensor and leadframe. Someone said check cam sensors but have no check engine on them at all, only leadframe issues that abruptly occur out the blue. When it happens I can driving at any speed and first thing that happens is the throttle revs to redline and Truck begins shifting abnormal, check engine, wrench, shutdown(thankfully), then hours again now indication of an issue! When i get the truck shut off and off the road, which i had it towed 7 times, show p705,706,707 codes all pertaining to leadframe. Please for the sake ny family and many others recall the 2015-2017 F150s for this $2000 electrical sensor replacement that is putting lives in jeopardy.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the mileage was 85,000. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for a trade-in, and it was later discovered that the mileage on the title was 185,000. Upon further investigation, the contact found out that Sheridan Motors had bought the vehicle from the original owner and that the dealer was the one who had rolled back the odometer. Started driving, about 2 minutes in, I noticed an electrical burn smell, and turned to look in the backseat, and it was filling with smoke, and my two young kids started coughing. I rolled all windows down and pulled over as quick as possible, unloaded both kids from rear driver side door. Saw smoke billowing out from behind the car seat on the passenger rear side, so I circled around to that door and went to inspect, right before removing the car seat I heard a loud pop and took off running just to be safe. After about 5 minutes I returned to the truck to notice the entire back windshield was shattered, chunks of glass inside and outside of the truck.

This is the 2nd time this has happened in 2 years. I have my truck turned off completely and locked and go to get back in it a few hours later and I open my door and the gas from the airbag has completely filled up the cab of my 2015 f150. I turn the truck on and it’s like it’s been in a wreck, all the lights on the dash are on, and it’s saying my airbags are deployed which the gas that fills the airbag did deploy, and it keeps telling me to contact 911. How does this keep happening without ford making a recall or not taking responsibility. It could seriously hurt or I hurt me or my family.

While driving at 60 mph my vehicle went from the 6th gear down to 1st gear on its own bringing the truck speed down very quickly the vehicle behind me almost hit me in the rear I pulled over speedometer stopped working and a imagine of a wrench was on the dashboard I cleared the wrench 🔧 image on the dashboard and tried to restart the truck turned the key and nothing happened tried again and truck started pulled out and started driving home 4 miles away and it happened again when I got home I googled it and found it is a known problem with the transmission in the 2015 ford f150 where the sensors in the transmission fail to read your speed and then reacts as if the vehicle is stopped so it then puts the transmission into 1st gear where it would be when you are stopped which creates a very dangerous situation especially if you are on a crowded road at higher speeds
