I had a recall on my 2014 ford fusion se regarding powertrain control module software update. I took my vehicle in to Athens ford 6/8/26 to have this fixed then on Friday my car lost power while driving, would not go l, then when I cut it off & back on it was like it went in to failsafe or limp mode. I called Athens ford 5 times on Friday & got no answer, 3 on Monday with no answer then found the number of the lady I dealt with in June. If I paid to have it towed there they could run diagnostics on it she said bc the mobile technicians couldn’t come out and do it. So I log in to my ford account and it showed this recall on the recall I had done it June. I screenshot it and sent it to her and she said it didn’t show it I needed to contact customer care. They told me the same thing that it didn’t show it. So I done a screen recording today of me logging in to my ford account and this is what it showed. Sent that to her and all they can respond is contact customer care. So I’m reaching out with this proof of what it shows and that being exactly what my car done and ford refusing to help me. Took car in May to hemborg ford they replaced my brake bumper it was on recall. Took car back on August 3 of 2026 brake lights staying on. Had them recheck the recall again thought it might be that. I was told it was not the issue. I needed to change out brake switch and had to pay diagnostic fee so a total of just under 300. My brake lights stay on while driving my car and when we park the car. they had my car 3 days then picked up my car on August 5 Drove it home and immediately noticed still having the same issues.Brake lights on even after I Called dealer and brought car back in. They kept my car 2 more days then I received a call it would be 200 for a brake flush they were confident that it would fix the light issue. And now we would we have to pay for another repair. A brake flush for brake lights staying on didn’t make sense. We felt we were being upsold for something we didn’t need and they had no answere for us! We declined the second repair and picked up car on 8/07/2026 and still the brake lights are staying on while driving the car. We woke up to looking out our window and noticed lights were on . Mind you the car had not been driven for hrs and the lights turned themselves on while car was parked. Skip to Sunday driving home from in laws and dash lights up. It says hillside assist and yellow wrench pops up. I fear my daughters safety and feel it is unsafe now. Called Ford to make a complaint. But meanwhile I have a car that we need but feel unsafe to drive. Our car is having more issues than when we took it in to the dealer. I need a resolution but what I really need is my money back so that I can take the car elsewhere! I feel car was misdiagnosed and I should not have to pay for their mistake.No options were given just to pay for more repairs. We asked for past invoices to be printed so I can keep a copy. Was told they cannot print past invoices. I felt we were taken advantage of we should get our money back for a diagnosis that was not repaired.

The backup camera is faulty and will sporadically stop working. Sometimes it will stop working in the middle of backing up. When it doesn't work the screen will either go black, flicker on and off, show a reversed image, or show an image with blue lines through it. This has put my safety at risk multiple times as I've been backing up and suddenly the image will disappear. We've taken the car into an independent service shop. They were unable to solve the issue and their only solution was to replace the system for $600. There was no warning before this started happening, however it does seem to be getting worse as time goes on. It only works about 10% of the time now.

Backup camera has been mostly inoperable for two years. The display is blurry at best, and works intermittently. Most often, the screen displays "Camera Not Available" or just goes black. Ford has issued a recall for other model years but needs to include the 2014 as we have the same issues.

As I was driving,making a right turn and with out warning my steering wheel before excessively hard to control, turn. Because of the sudden wheel tightening as I was making this right turn I almost collided with a vehicle in next lane on highway. My brakes were in good standing but I had to really step down on my brakes to gain control of the steering wheel. I put in the shop and got a multi point inspection with repairs costs of over 3000 to replace steering wheel gear bolts etc in which I can't afford at this time

The rearview camera on my 2014 Ford Fusion has been malfunctioning for several years. When the vehicle is placed in reverse, the camera image frequently does not display, displays intermittently, or fails while already in use. When the system does activate, the image is sometimes mirrored or reversed, making it difficult or unsafe to interpret the surroundings behind the vehicle. Overall, the camera functions correctly in approximately 1 out of 10 attempts, and cannot be relied upon for safe operation. This failure is unpredictable and occurs without warning, creating a safety risk due to the inability to consistently see pedestrians, children, or obstacles behind the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected by a Ford dealership for this issue; however, no remedy was provided because the vehicle was outside the warranty period. I am aware that Ford has issued recalls and extended coverage for rearview camera failures on later model year Ford Fusion vehicles (2015 and newer) exhibiting similar symptoms. My vehicle demonstrates the same defect behavior, despite being excluded based solely on model year. Although rearview cameras were optional equipment in 2014, this vehicle was factory-equipped with a camera, and the failure constitutes a safety-related defect rather than normal wear. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether this defect affects earlier model years, including the 2014 Ford Fusion.

This is a report of the same issues that have been issued a recall for newer years of the same make and model, the Ford Fusion. The rear backup camera stopped working and directly impedes the safety and visibility when reversing the vehicle. An error/warning comes up to contact the dealership due to the malfunction. The 2014 was excluded from the recent recall for these same backup cameras on the 2016+ models. The recall needs to be extended to ALL years of the Ford Fusion.

The rearview camera does not display properly. The image is flipped which can cause confusion when using the camera to check for traffic. Sometimes the camera does not come on/display images when shifting into reverse. Also at night the camera is streaky so one is unable to see images in the camera. I noticed there was a recall for the rearview camera but my make/model/year was not included but I am experiencing issues with the rearview camera.

2014 Ford Fusion 4D 2Wd SE Backup camera started when my car was 9 to 10 years old occasionally goes black and show reversed but not upside down. Within 5 months it continually shows images reversed. I attempted to do a software update but since it was over 10 years old at the time I was not allowed to I also spoke to the car dealership and was told that was correct. No recalls on the backup camera I was told I would need to pay between 500 and 1000 dollars to have it fixed. I found a site on the internet that say the 2014 also had a recall but the Ford site does not show my vin indicating that is true.

AdvanceTrac stopped working in my car due a sensor. Had to get it replaced by Midas. When I went to turn on my car and put it in drive it started making an awful grinding sound and would not move and gave me an error code that just said service AdvanceTrac. It was insanely expensive to repair and thankfully didn't happen while I was driving.

A third party hacked my CPU/Transmission Control System causing malfunction with the engine. The engine randomly would cut off during traffic, and I would need to press gas directly after starting the vehicle to go. My vehicle was fairly new and transmission module should not be ineffective after purchasing my vehicle last July 2023 with less than 80K miles. The notification that makes the vehicle stay in the lane would malfunction randomly notifying me of failure to sensor active crash alert. I also have inability to connect to Ford vehicle app with no reason provided to cut off WiFi connectivity. Please review external IP as I can hear communication of third party observing my way of driving and communication while attempting to drive causing distraction affecting safety of myself, my location placement, and health of the car. Possible CPU/transmission/AC connectivity from July 2023 to Malfunction of vehicle starting 10/2024.
