My 2025 civic presents the dangerous defect for sticky steering from the recall already placed on models 2022 to 2025 under recall 24V-744 but my VIN number is not listed so the dealer wants to charge me the full replacement cost . Please help me include my VIN to this well know and dangerous recall. I have kids and I can't drive them in this car with this problem and I don't have the means to pay the cost of replacing the parts of a well know manufacturer defect. PLEASE HELP ME!!

After using the lane assist the steering wheel becomes sticky when I turn it off. Then if I turn it back on letting the lane assist correct my driving to turning it back off when turning around corners my steering wheel becomes really sticky. Then when driving the vehicle with lane asssist on the steering wheel will feel slightly different then I’ll turn it back off and it won’t stick around corners anymore (so then I can’t use my lane assist without my steering wheel getting sticky again) it really makes me worried. I don’t know if it’s connected but it makes me feel unsafe. When getting a hold of the dealership, they told me that I had to pay $150 to get a diagnostic because I didn’t have any active recalls. Which I think is a little crazy considering I keep reading about all these recalls about sticky steering wheels, but not specifically mine even though I’m experiencing the same thing they are. I’ve talked to somebody about three different times about recalls on this and they just keep saying that I don’t have a recall, but I’m telling them about what I’m experiencing is similar to people with active recalls, but they will still charge me a diagnostic fee that I can’t afford. And tells me I’m not in warranty. So my safety is at risk.. I have children in this car. I have pets in this car and I have family in this car…..

2025 Honda Civic Hatchback experiencing dangerous mechanical binding, sticking, and notching in the steering column. The defect is strictly thermal, escalating significantly in extreme Arizona heat and/ or after driving for a prolonged duration. This requires excessive driver effort to break the steering wheel free from center, risking over-correction and loss of vehicle control. Additionally, vehicle experiences intermittent powertrain jerking and hesitation during low-speed acceleration. Under active factory warranty, the vehicle was towed to a local Honda dealership. The Service Director initially pushed back significantly, attempting to dismiss the safety keywords and label a major steering defect as a vague 'multi-system failure' on the printed Repair Order. After consumer refusal to accept the vehicle, the Service Director capitulated, personally authorizing a Repair Order explicitly documenting in handwriting: 'Also Steering Sticky while CAR in motion. Also vehicle jerky at low Speeds.' The Service Director physically signed next to these terms. The Service Director explicitly acknowledged that the symptoms sound like the NHTSA recall 24V-744, but stated they must put up to 300 miles on the vehicle to 'replicate' the issue before replacing the steering rack due to fear of corporate financial chargebacks, actively attempting to force a consumer to keep an unsafe vehicle unless able to replicate.

My car is experiencing steering problem- it is sticking and makes it hard to steer, I took it to get diagnosed today and I was told I need a new steering gear box because it is faulty. This is a common recall for the year make and model car I have and I was told that my vin number doesn’t not have any recall yet it is still experiencing the same exact problem as the recall. The car is a year old but it’s been going on for months and I assumed it was normal because it’s never been mentioned until I found out about the recall and brought it in specifically for that reason

Despite multiple service visits and complaints to both the dealership and American Honda (Case #XXX and #XXX), no proper diagnosis or repair was performed. After continued inaction, another Honda dealership identified a **broken rear shock absorber with an active fluid leak**, a safety-critical defect affecting vehicle stability and control. This condition existed and was reported during the warranty period but was dismissed. There is also a pattern of complaint mishandling, including lack of follow-up and unresolved case activity. Requests for service records and complaint documentation have not been fulfilled. This complaint requests investigation into the safety risk and failure to diagnose and repair a known defect during warranty. While driving, the steering wheel suddenly became stiff and difficult to turn, making it hard to control the vehicle. The electric power steering is malfunctioning. At highway speeds, steering becomes sticky. It is difficult to make small adjustments (such as to stay within the lane), leading to overcorrections to compensate. I worry that the stickiness and associated overcompensation may lead cause a crash if it persists. The issue has not been confirmed by a dealer or service center nor inspected by manufacturer, police or insurance company. However, I have called Honda and it is a known issue. There is already a recall for 2022 to 2025 Honda Civic's for this problem in the electric power steering, but my car is not currently included in the recall. I did not have any warning messages. I first noticed this issue on 3/9/26 when my car had ~12800 miles on it.

While driving slowly and turning the steering wheel, I hear a crackling or popping sound, similar to a “crunch” or “creaking” noise. The sound seems to come from the front and rear area, especially noticeable during low-speed turns (like parking). After I check with Honda dealer they replace Front strut bearing but after replace it. It still making noise.
