NHTSA complaint #11737119 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2025 Honda Ridgeline Placerville, CA

VISIBILITY/WIPER

Driving down the highway and the sunroof shattered for no reason. Was not hit by anything. Dealer says this is not a known problem. My safety would have been put at risk from flying glass if I had not had the sunroof cover closed

NHTSA complaint #11729809 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2024 Honda Ridgeline Arnoldville, GA

VISIBILITY/WIPER

The auto high beam is widely known to be so bad it behaves the opposite of how it should. It frequently blinds other drivers when it should not turn high beams on, often blinding them in the last few seconds before passing, causing a dangerous situation, not to mention the possibility of drivers thinking it was done on purpose maliciously. This has led to near road rage experiences. The high beams also rarely turn on when they should but at least there is a manual override.

2024 Honda Ridgeline at 12,246 miles Vilonia, AR 2 injured

VISIBILITY:SUN/MOON ROOF ASSEMBLY

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, there was an extremely loud banging noise detected, and the sunroof exploded upward and outward without warning or impact. The driver and his wife sustained a piercing, ringing sound in the ears, but medical attention was not provided. The local dealer was contacted, where it was diagnosed, but they were unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 12,246.

NHTSA complaint #11685903 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2023 Honda Ridgeline El Paso, TX

VISIBILITY/WIPER

The automatic high beam system is terrible. It is too sensitive so the beams flash hi/low on and off. Even a small road reflector on a dark empty road will force it back to low beam. Other cars I own with this type system work much better. It’s a safety hazard because auto hi-beam is on by default and you can’t count on it providing the correct amount of lighting when on dark roads, plus it annoys oncoming drivers because of the constant flashing.

NHTSA complaint #11642368 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2024 Honda Ridgeline Upland, CA

VISIBILITY/WIPER

The highbeams while not failing do not operate in a safe manner. While driving you are unable to really disable them. While driving about 12 miles down hill the Auto High beams repeatedly turned on likely blinding oncoming traffic and traffic passing me while I scrampled to turn them off so that I would not blind other drivers. These auto high beams seem poorly designed and poorly thought out there should be easier ways to disable them other than having to park and hold a lever down for like 40 seconds. Legitimately thought I was going to accidentally be responsible for someones death mine or traffic around me because my high beams were coming on unprompted.

NHTSA complaint #11633788 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2024 Honda Ridgeline Severna Park, MD

VISIBILITY/WIPER

Rear window shattered while driving on a Highway. It seems this happens often with Honda vehicles. Dealer said to have it inspected by the window repair service. Still getting estimates.

NHTSA complaint #11624581 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2017 Honda Ridgeline Louisville, KY

VISIBILITY/WIPER

Sunroof randomly exploded I was traveling on a highway and we heard a very loud “pop”. We at first thought we were hit by someone else, or blew a tire. Neither occurred but then heard wind and noticed the sunroof not only shattered, but blew outward. There were glass shards all around. We have taken it to the dealership and they said while other vehicles have had problems, the Ridgeline is not under a recall. I took pictures as to document what occurred. There was absolutely no warning that it was about to happened, either through the vehicle warning system or noises prior to the loud pop. It simply came out of no where and scared us immensely until we recognized what had happened.

2019 Honda Ridgeline Olympia, WA

VISIBILITY/WIPER

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Driver side Side View Mirror - No, I had to have it replaced and did not get it back. Please see recalls related to this issue for years 2020 thru 2021 for Honda Pilots, Passports, Ridgelines, and Odysseys. To me it seems they need to go back one more year. Same problem/issue as reported in these recalls. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The mirror (glass part, not the whole frame) was vibrating substantially when driving. Mabe it very difficult to have a clear view out that mirror. Difficult to see here other vehicles where in that mirror. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, dealer saw problem and agreed it was a problem. They replaced it. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Not that I am aware of. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No.

2021 Honda Ridgeline Woodbine, GA

VISIBILITY/WIPER

I received my recall number:24V-321 in the mail. I also had an emission control warning notice come on so I took the truck to a Honda dealer. The same day my RVC starting going out so they looked at that. Bottom line: they said the emission problem was a loose something with getting my oil changed. They said my backup camera problem wasn’t due to recall and that I need a new camera and by the way it’s going to cost me $700. I have 56000 miles on it and am very unhappy with wha’t going on.

NHTSA complaint #11602269 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2019 Honda Ridgeline Berkeley, CA

VISIBILITY/WIPER

Driving on the freeway the sun roof exploded shattering the glass unexpectedly. There was no rock or other outside projectile that hit the glass since I had a kayak above the glass on a roof rack pretty much covering most of the glass. I was able to close the shade door inside before the glass came down on us. I found out that this has happened on other Honda vehicles and there is a class action suit which I don't know much about. My insurance company will replace it but will cost me my $500 deductible.

2022 Honda Ridgeline Lynnwood, WA

Backup camera can take up to 20 or 30 seconds to turn on when reverse gear is entered

NHTSA complaint #11590463 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2021 Honda Ridgeline Bullville, NY

VISIBILITY/WIPER

I’ve had issues with the side view mirrors with this vehicle since the day that i took delivery. They were always wobbly. Honda issued a recall on them and the replacement mirrors look like “fun house” mirrors. They are super distorted and make me nauseous looking out of them. This is not an isolated incident. Many people are experiencing issues with the recalled mirrors being distorted. Honda needs to come up with another recall and real fix for this

NHTSA complaint #11577665 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2017 Honda Ridgeline Westland, MI
