The contact's daughter owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, it caught on fire. The vehicle became engulfed in flames, and the authorities were called to the scene. The Fire Department extinguished the fire. The vehicle was later towed to an impound lot where it was deemed a total loss. No injuries were reported. A police report was filed. A nearby roadside electrical box was damaged due to the heat from the fire. Prior to the fire, the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V132000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

OFFICIAL REPORT: FRANCHISE FALSIFICATION OF MANDATORY SAFETY RECALL REMEDY I am filing this formal safety complaint because a licensed factory franchise, Causeway Hyundai (Manahawkin, NJ), officially documented and signed off that a mandatory federal safety campaign (NHTSA Recall 21V303 / Hyundai Recall 251: ABS Multi-Fuse Block Replacement) was successfully completed on my vehicle. This official safety record is completely falsified. The service department closed out the repair order and logged it into the manufacturer network as a finished repair. However, I have opened the under-hood engine junction box and taken photographic evidence proving that no physical labor was performed. The original, 12-year-old factory multi-fuse block assembly (Part #91ZZ9-42705 / F18 150A) is still physically inside my engine bay, completely covered in thick, undisturbed road dust and grime. The dealership returned my vehicle to me with a falsified "all clear" safety invoice while leaving a known, severe electrical fire hazard completely active inside my vehicle's engine compartment. I request that federal regulators audit this franchise location for fraudulent safety recall logging and systemic non-compliance with NHTSA safety remedy mandates.

I started to hear a grinding sound when breaking and I took it into a Meineke dealer to see about getting it fixed. During a general diagnostic they discovered that 3 of the four brakes were not working and the calipers needed replaced. I was told this was due to a manufacturer issue and that there will be a recall on these parts soon but no ETA. They informed me that they have seen this similar issue on many 2019 Hyundai Velosters and there would be a recall soon but I have no ETA and I cannot drive my vehicle.
NHTSA complaint #11709522 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
ABS, EPS, check engine light appeared on dashboard then car’s steering wheel stiffed and car lost power. Vehicle’s hood smells burnt and has fumes come out after driving for 10-20minutes. My safety and my family’s was endangered as this happened while driving on the road. Not at a stop sign or a red traffic light but while driving. The dealer has refused to inspect/address the issue without having me paid close to $2,500.00 for other repairs.

And but the recall still shows no remedy ? This has happened on 4 different occasions. I'm on the highway and my speedometer slams to zero and everything involving the brakes lights up in my dash. The car continues to drive but it's pretty worrisome as I drive 70mph around alot of traffic. I have been able to pull over every time but it's still beyond unacceptable. I've had my Veloster a little under a year and I don't know if the other recall involving the motor being replaced was taken care of. It was a recall associated with my VIN. I have a video of it happening but for some reason I try to upload it on the app and it won't allow me to. It is the proper format.

The safety recall on my vehicle has been open for nearly 7 months with a risk of fire. There is still no status as to when my vehicle can be serviced to prevent this risk of fire. I find this lack of urgency completely unacceptable considering the risk.
NHTSA complaint #11583540 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
I was on the highway and looked at my speedometer and the mph was at 0. The abs and the brake light warnings came on and I couldn't accelerate and hardly brake. I pulled to the shoulder immediately. Took a couple hundred feet to finally stop. It was a very scary moment thinking my brakes have gone. I put it in park waited a moment turned it off... waited about 5 mins and it turned over just wanted to get it home

Brakes catastrophic failure due to brake line corrosion. Complete lose of fluid and pressure. The undercoating was not done right or possibly at all so road salts ate through the lines. All lines replaced at a cost of roughly $2000.00. This is already a recall in Canada so like do something about it.
