Three of the four tires on the vehicle are splitting on the sidewalk near the rim. The fourth tire is cracking in the same location. All tires are maintained at the correct tire pressure. There’s no reason this shouldn’t be covered but of course it isn’t. Guess someone has to die before Firestone replaces defective tires.

(Continental Pro Contact Tx 225/55R18 - mold numbers 417777 and 408589) Tire belts in both passenger side tires failed at the same time while driving on the interstate. The car started shaking while I was driving. There was no warning, no loss of tire pressure. Broken tire belts confirmed by dealer. Dealer disposed of tires because they were not told to hold them by Continental Tires. Tires mold numbers are not part of previous recall, but seem to have had same issue.

TIRES HAVE ABOUT 20,000 MILES ON THEM AND HAVE ABOUT 45% REMAINING TREAD. BLOWOUT PATTERN WAS A NEAR PERFECT CIRCLE WHERE THE SIDEWALL MEETS THE TREAD AREA OF THE TIRE. DAMAGE TO VEHICLE CONSISTED OF BENT REAR QUARTER PANEL.

LOST STEERING CONTROL ON JEEP CHEROKEE WHEN HITTING BUMPS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. FRONT END HAD SEVERE LATERAL OSCILLATION WITH NO DAMPING; STEERING WAS VERY DIFFICULT. HAD TO SLOW VEHICLE TO BELOW 35 MPH TO REGAIN CONTROL. VERY HAZARDOUS ON HIGHWAYS! INSPECTION AT REPAIR SHOP DETERMINED ONE FRONT TIRE HAD BROKEN STEEL BELT AND OTHER TIRE HAD PARTIAL BELT SHIFT. TIRES WERE 2.5 YRS OLD AND HAD ONLY 18 K MILES. NO EVIDENCE OF ROAD HAZARD DAMAGE WAS PRESENT. REPLACED ALL TIRES ON VEHICLE AND PROBLEMS WERE ELIMINATED. TIRES WERE SUPER SPORT AP RADIALS MANUFACTURED BY GOODYEAR. I UNDERSTAND THESE TIRES ARE NO LONGER MANUFACTURED.
NHTSA complaint #10464494 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
DOUGLAS TIRE 215/75R15, 1200 MILES ON TIRES ALL AT 55 TO 60 MPH. I HAD THEM BALANCED AND AT SLOW SPEED THEY WERE SMOOTH. THE FOLLOWING DAY I GOT ON THE INTERSTATE AT 65 TO 70 MPH AND I COULD HEAR A LOUD SLAPPING NOISE AND THE CAR SHOOK. AT HIGH SPEEDS THE TIRES MUST TAKE ON A DIFFERENT SHAPE. WALMART REFUSED ANY CONCESSION SO I'M CONFINED TO SLOW DRIVING UNTIL I CAN AFFORD ANOTHER SET OF TIRES; ANOTHER BRAND THAT IS. MY TIRE LINE IS XTRA-TRAC II (ROMAN NUMERAL 2). YOU DON'T GIVE ME THE OPTION TO SELECT THAT LINE. I CANNOT TELL WHILE DRIVING WHICH TIRE OR HOW MANY TIRES ARE BECOMING DEFORMED WHILE DRIVING. PARKED, THEY ALL LOOK GOOD.
