Structural Support/Shielding on Fuel Tank rusted away due to a well-documented galvanic corrosion issue for 2017 Range Rover Sport vehicles. The joining of uncoated disparate metal surfaces leads to a hyper-corrosion event of the shield, which can cause fuel tank to drop onto roadway during normal driving, potentially resulting in a catastrophic accident. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) North America continues to deny CRC goodwill claims for repair, replacement and/or reimbursement unless NHTSA is contacted first. Requesting NHTSA open an investigation into this safety issue, and further requesting JLR provide immediate TSB and extended warranty instructions to JLR Dealers on replacement of corroded fuel tank shields.

There are exhaust fumes in the Cabin. This has been going on since May of 2026. Multiple different repairs have been made. I still smell exhaust fumes on my clothing after driving the vehicle with the windows up and the air conditioning on. I do not know if there are air quality safety issues including carbon monoxide coming into the vehicle when in it.

I had my oil changed and mechanic noted both my fuel tank belly pans were heavily corroded, which was odd for a garaged car with lower miles. They recommended reaching out to my dealership since this is a pressing issue that likely should include a recall or warranty. When I researched the issue, it's a known Range Rover Sport design issue, a 2019 should not have this much corrosion and it sounds like condensation pools. Also, the mechanic noted that this likely has been happening for a while. The RI Range Rover dealership inspected my car in August 2025, and didn't flag any issues.

My 2012 Range Rover HSE Sport, after repeated calls and asking to speak to the appropriate parties about my car, finally got a call and said that the the safety recall was completed to [XXX] and I could pick up my car. He/She said that I would need an engine and I just needed to come in a pick up the keys and car.car was driveable. After the members refused for 30 days not to repair the safety recall, and upon my insistence, "they" said it was complete. The defect was with the manufacturer call to fix my car. The dealership members were very rude and noncompliant. I asked that they would reach out to the manufacturer and my request to the manufacturer was that honor and fix the engine at in good faith and their expense to the dealership.their expense. I have reached out to the manufacturer aa well Jaguar Land Rover North America LLC who has a foreign business in [XXX] and [XXX] and not being transparent with contacts and demands. I have rented a car for almost 3 months and certainly since the Dealership refused for 30 days not to repair my car because of the safety, I feel that those days of extended car rental and the fact the dealership refuse to fix my car, that the dealership should be responsible for the car rental as well. The safety recall is free of charge.I have looked and searched and asked and find that the manufacturer for Range Rover is originated in [XXX] and doing business in [XXX] and [XXX] . Where each State protects consumer with the Lemon Law to some degree . Please advise. I fear that the parties who worked on my car has taken advantage of me. Every part acceptable to the engine failur was replaced with parts for Range Rover dealers and other venue and I had to find a mechanic capable of replacing and diagnosing the issue that still persisted because I was told that the dealership did not service cars under the year 2012. Shortly after purchase of the vehicle on November 26, 2021, the vehicle began experiencing repeated DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid), SCR, and DPF system failures, accompanied by dashboard warning indicators, drivability instability, reduced power warnings, and eventual shutdown conditions. The most serious safety concern is that when the DEF/emissions warning activates, the vehicle may enter reduced-power mode and ultimately become non-operable, creating a significant roadway safety hazard. The vehicle has repeatedly experienced conditions where it could lose power, become unreliable in traffic, or shut down unexpectedly after emissions-related warnings appeared. The vehicle required repeated repair attempts beginning almost immediately after delivery, including diagnostics and repairs involving: DEF system malfunction SCR/DPF restriction codes Reduced power warnings Fuel pressure-related faults Emissions-system failures Drivability instability Suspension-related concerns Despite multiple repair attempts by authorized facilities and warranty-related interventions, the same categories of failures continued to recur. This condition creates a serious safety concern because the vehicle can become unreliable or effectively inoperable while being driven, particularly after activation of emissions-related warning systems. The repeated loss-of-power and shutdown-related behavior creates risk during normal roadway operation. VEHICLE INFORMATION: Year: 2013 Make: Land Rover Model: Range Rover Sport VIN: [XXX] Mileage: 97890 DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM: I am unable to properly refuel my vehicle. The gas pump nozzle repeatedly clicks off during refueling due to pressure buildup in the fuel tank, making it extremely difficult to add fuel. My authorized Land Rover dealer has diagnosed a saturated evaporative (EVAP) canister as the cause. Safety Recall N623 (Gasoline Fuel Tank Flange Assembly Cracking) was previously completed on my vehicle at Jaguar Main Line in Wayne, PA However, the refueling issue has persisted following that recall repair. The EVAP canister saturation is consistent with prolonged fuel vapor exposure caused by the cracked fuel tank flange that Recall N623 was designed to address. I have made multiple attempts to resolve this with both the dealership and Land Rover North America Customer Relations. I was assigned a case manager|Brittany Thomas|case number 8001492338 [XXX] who has not followed up despite my repeated contact attempts. Land Rover has directed me back to the dealership and the dealership has directed me back to Land Rover, with no resolution provided. The vehicle remains unable to be properly refueled and the EVAP canister replacement has not been covered under goodwill or warranty. I am filing a safety complaint regarding a defective diesel emissions system and persistent warning condition in my 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Diesel vehicle that presents a serious safety hazard to myself and others. The vehicle was purchased from Ewing Buick GMC in Plano, Texas, [XXX] and was advertised as being in good condition and ready for sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle appeared to have undergone preparation and inspection-related services, which gave the impression that it was safe and roadworthy. Dealer informed me of no inspection being performed. Shortly after purchase, the vehicle began displaying persistent emissions-related warnings (DEF system / engine warning). I initially had the vehicle inspected, and serviced for repairs by Royse City Auto Care, where diagnostic information indicated emissions-related faults. Due to the seriousness of the issue, the vehicle was then taken to an authorized Land Rover service center for further diagnosis. Land Rover technicians indicated that potential causes may include a knock sensor or related module failure; however, they stated that these repairs are not guaranteed to resolve the issue. The warning condition remains active and unresolved. The vehicle now presents a critical safety concern. The emissions system warning includes a mileage countdown that will eventually prevent the vehicle from being driven once it reaches zero. This creates a dangerous situation where I may be unable to operate the vehicle at all, potentially leaving me stranded in unsafe conditions. Additionally, the vehicle may enter reduced power mode (limp mode) or experience loss of power while driving. These conditions significantly increase the risk of an accident, especially on highways or in traffic. As a result, my safety and the safety of others on the road are put at risk. The Jaguar range Rover dealership refused to fix the safety recall on my 2012 Range Rover. My car had been at the dealership JLR Midlothian VA since March 20,2026. They stated that there was no loaner car until April 13, 2026, possibly. Brian was the senior advisor sharing the information. I rented a car from Hertz rental in Fredericksburg VA for the initial date appt of March 13, 2026. I had a family emergency and informed Brian. On April 20, 2026 I visited the dealership to learn the status of fixing the recall issue of of fuel flange to be told by Jeff that Mike the Service Manager refused to correct and replace the safety recall part. BArian who initially did intake on March 13th was not on active duty recall and the case was sent to another advisor Josh, Josh was not in the day of April 20,2026. Josh telephoned me the next day stating the same that my car was not repaired not would it be according to service Manager Mike. They have had my car for 30 days and never told me ethat information before. I have been charged over $800 in rental fees that I had asked the manufacturer/and or dealership since they could not give me a car while my car is in their possession. Please help me I still have this rental car as of April 24, 2026 and on for transportation.. My car was drive able. It was running hot so I had the car towed to the dealership.

The contact attempted to accelerate; however, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact called for an Uber and purchased a gas can and refueled the vehicle. The vehicle was refueled and restarted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a diagnostic test, and it was determined that there was a crack in the fuel tank. The vehicle was not repaired. The part is not available from the dealership as they said it is on national backorder this line is not damaged in any way and should not be leaking. I took my car in for an oil change, and they noticed a faint fuel smell (Which I had noticed as well). I had them look deeper and the found a small fuel leak, requiring Part LR140080 to repair. This part is worldwide back ordered from Land Rover. When I ordered at the Range Rover dealership they noted 146 people in front of me with no ETA in sight. The representative advised that the car was not safe to drive and they have a car at the dealership that has been waiting since November? Unacceptable. How can there be no recall if this is a known issue? The dealership noted that any fuel related issue has safety implications (fire, etc) I had a check engine light on which has since gone away. The shop ran a test and noted that the car was running in "lean" mode due to this part issue. The contact owns a 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V635000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). After the recall repair, the vehicle unexpectedly ran out of fuel even though the instrument panel indicated approximately 90 miles to empty. The contact added fuel and resumed driving; however, the vehicle ran out of fuel while the display showed approximately 50 miles to empty. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer again. Upon inspection, the local dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine needed to be replaced due to a coolant line leak. The mechanic reported that there were no diagnostic trouble codes retrieved, and that the vehicle failed to remain running. Vehicle: 2012 Range Rover Sport Supercharged (VIN: [XXX] ) Recall Campaign: N623 / NHTSA 21V635 Incident Description: In October 2025 I had a recall repair done at Land Rover Annapolis. I picked up my vehicle from Land Rover Annapolis after the N623 Fuel Outlet Flange Recall was performed. Immediately after service, while driving in a live lane of traffic, the vehicle unexpectedly stalled, resulting in a complete loss of motive power. The dashboard fuel gauge falsely indicated 55 miles of remaining range, but the vehicle had actually run out of fuel. This indicates that the fuel sending unit/float assembly was improperly reinstalled or damaged during the recall service, creating a secondary safety defect. I figured it would calibrate and fix itself. When the dealer reached out after my service appointment I made them aware of the issue. No one contacted me. I contacted Land Rover corporate when it continued to happen and was told to bring it back to the certified repair location. The dealership took 16 mins to look at my vehicle and deem the engine bad. Give a ballpark quote of 20000 to 30000 dollars to replace the engine. Despite this life-safety event, the dealership refused to pull stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and is attempting to deflect liability by blaming a pre-existing minor coolant leak that never triggered an overheat warning. I am reporting a failure of the recall remedy and requesting an investigation into the dealership's refusal to diagnose consequential damage (High-Pressure Fuel Pump failure) caused by the botched safety When I brought up the fact that they should have diagnosed the codes already he offered to have them run it for free tomorrow like he was doing me some kind of favor. When I said did I disagreed with the findings based on the fact that there was no evidence of it being the engine overheating due to cool it he replied that maybe I needed a second opinion and it needed to be off of their lot by Friday.
