Each time for the last year and a half that I have taken my car in for service or just stopped in and showed them that my radio is saying overheated current, they would test it and say that they couldn't recreate the error despite me showing that it would not connect my phone to the car or charge. I also reported having a random warning that my car was unleveled when driving and they said the computer shows no errors. When I last took my car in for an oil change 1/30/26 I had a break check done because my brakes acted like they didn't want to stop and were making a sound. They told me that my breaks and rotors were find and probably needed to be washed. The sound is louder now so i went to schedule my oil change and make the reports again to find out that the company closed down and there is no dealer close to my location. I filed a CFPB complaint due to the Mitsubishi telling me there is nothing they can do.

I am unsure of the proper name of the component with issues. There are several little issues but the main is, I believe it would be a software issue... Basically, on several different occasions (4) while driving at 60 mph and over, the vehicle suddenly stalled and shut off completely with no warning. The one incident which was the very first while I was driving less than 1 month ago. I was on a two lane road/freeway with another passenger in the back seat going somewhere between 60 and 65 mph. The car went completely black and everything shut down the entire vehicle, engine and all. I was in complete shock and end up scraping my front left rim on the curb I was next to, damaging the vehicle as a result. I am just recently out of my warranty and I do not have the funds to have it looked at just yet. I did inform the dealership that I purchased the vehicle from. I originally thought it was something maybe I had done to cause it. I also was completely unaware of any recalls on several of the year and model of my vehicle. When I looked up recalls on them, my vehicle has very similar issues to a lot of other cars like It that have already been recalled. I am upset because if I had known there were potential safety issues with these particular make and model car I would have not wanted to finance it, especially at the price point I have. It seems that several thousand were recalled a few months before I financed mine. Why wouldn’t I be notified that there could be potential safety issues when I was looking at the vehicle for purchase? Now here we are and I don’t think it is a safe vehicle. I need to do something.. I am not sure I want to keep it honestly ! What can I do? Please let me know at your earliest convenience. 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Hyde Park, PA

SERVICE BRAKES

The parking brake is sticking when the vehicle is in motion, and it fails to keep the vehicle stationary when engaged. The car cannot operate correctly with the emergency brake engaged. Also it’s not safe since the car cannot be secured. There is an open recall for this issue however my VIN isn’t included but the issue is the same. This has been occurring for a few months, we just were able to figure out the issue last night and then I found the recall.

SERVICE BRAKES

I picked up my vehicle from having a recall service done. but when i was unloading the rental car my car began to roll due to ebrake recall that has not been properly addressed. have warning lights indicating airbag service and that passenger airbag is off when it is occupied. Airbags should never fail, nor should brakes. no matter miles or salt on road. if salt corodes a certain part than it must be an aloy that will not corrode. also brake lines should not ever rust they too should be coated with epoxy or alloy metals that are impervious to salt...

2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Saint Cloud, MN

This problem has been reported to the local dealership whom fixed the recall and they are refusing to correct the other problem that is related to the recall. The emergency brake will not release in lower freezing temperatures and or it will release and while driving seize up and stop the rear driver side tire. This causes an instant swaying of the vehicle and could potentially cause vehicle to roll if this happens at higher speeds. So far it has only happened under 35 mph. The dealership claims it’s the cable for the emergency brake that need to be replaced and there is not faulty parts that had been replaced under the recall. On that same wheel that this problem occurs the caliper has been stuck and worn. Down the pad and now is wearing into the rotor. It’s only on one side and everything that was listed under the recall for 2016 models and newer seems to match the problems with this vehicle as well. All the brakes and rotors were replaced a year ago. A tire was replaced after it had seized up and was dragging, wearing down the tire in one spot. I am asking that my vehicle have another inspection by a different facility that would be willing to look further and assist in reporting reconsideration to include the repairs that are needed on this vehicle.

2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport North Attleboro, MA Crash

SERVICE BRAKES

My 17-year old son was stopped at a stop sign. He waited until any oncoming cars had passed before he started to move out of the stop. He turned right out of the stop and onto the cross street. After only a few feet, my son notice the front of the vehicle was angled toward the curb & he tried to pull the wheel out of the angle and stepped on the brakes. The steering wheel would not turn AT ALL & the brakes didn't do anything. My son stepped on the brake pedal two more times and the vehicle DID NOT slow down or respond to this. The car went into the front steps of our local Police Station. Because he had about 40 feet from stop sign to impact, we estimate he had about 2 seconds to respond to this situation & could not have exceeded 10-15mph in that time. Upon impact, the air bag did not deploy. There was minimal property damage to the building, but the car was totaled. The entire front end was pushed in. My son was able to exit the vehicle and luckily did not have any sever injuries. We are writing this complaint because of existing safety recalls to the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport for all the years surrounding our 2017 model. These complaints all note engine stalling after complete stops. The engine stalls lead to unresponsive steering wheels, brakes that don't work, and airbags that don't deploy. We want this situation investigated as well.

My vehicle has had over 10 recalls but Mitsubishi has refused to properly fix any of the problems. I will attach a photo of the control arms and certain parts and recalls THEY cleared, and sent me on my way with. Now there is full suspension damage. Tire damage. And an entire list of other recalls that were never fixed by Mitsubishi. Also Airbag light, incorrect gas level. Windshield fluid leaking, and more. My front tire is about to fly off. There are problems with the struts. And no mechanic wants to touch it due to a strut recall and can’t even buy struts anywhere for my car. They have been taken off the market completely. I have a 8 year old child in this car. And both of our lives at risk. I have brought it to several mechanics and they are in shock at the damage and how we have survived. I have had to pay with my own money for certain repairs because Mitsubishi said “everything looks fine” and sent me on my way. And now refuse to open a claim and pay it back. Or fix all the damage it has caused since the first control arm problem. I can get receipts and invoices together. But honestly the entire car is A huge liability and needs an IMMEDIATE SOLUTION!
