The worst model year for it is 2011.
While driving in the rain, my 2014 Nissan Juke began to smoke underneath the hood. I immediately pulled over and a fire ignited, burning the front half of the car and totaling it. The fire department extinguished the fire. The fire appeared to start near the area of the driver side headlight. There were no warning lamps or previous symptoms.
NHTSA complaint #11756681 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
Driving at 4:50am, it’s dark and raining. While driving I noticed fog/steam on my hood. Which sometimes happens when it’s raining. Continued driving but noticed it was still foggy/steam from the hood. I decided to go back home and wait until daylight. I don’t like driving in the rain or dark. As I entered my neighborhood, I decided to stop and see what was happening. Put my car in park and released the hood. Fire came from everywhere underneath the hood . I jumped out of my car and called 911. On hold for 7 minutes, hung up called the fire department, they directed me to call 911. Stayed on hold another 2-3 minutes and called none emergency police station. Dispatcher contacted fire department. No warning lights, sounds or indication of anything being wrong. I’ve had no issues at all with my vehicle. Very

Nissan Juke Nismo -under 30,000 miles. Head light covers discolor reducing vision. When driving at night or in heavy Florida rains.. also hazard to other divers. In addition, heat and air conditioning stopped working. STONG fumes fill the car with cabin possibly causing drivers to become disoriented. This is a driver safety hazard that could possibly cause a serious traffic fatality. Can not use the heat, defrosters, air conditioning or outside air circulation. Windows could fog up during our Florida monsoon rains and drastically reduces drivers visibility .i paid a small fortune to have the vehicle Heat and AC system tested at both Firestone (who referred me to a Nissan), I had taken a printed copy of the Firestone report to a Nissan dealership and they charged me a small fortune to run the same test Firestone did. I was told that to repair the core processor (located behind the dashboard) it would cost me approximately $5,000 to repair. I was also told I needed rear brakes. I am a senior citizen living on Social Security so this repair cost is far beyond my income capability. These dangerous conditions restrict me from going grocery shopping buying frozen foods, dairy products, and other groceries required to keep cold. The discolored headlamps are dangerous and this hazard restrictes me from scheduling late afternoon doctor’s appointments and/or any driving at dusk or at night..

I was involved in a serious crash in a 2014 Nissan Juke. The vehicle broke through a fence, traveled downhill, and rolled multiple times before coming to rest upside down. The crash caused severe structural damage: Roof crushed down to seat level Windshield shattered Rear of vehicle pushed into back seat Door panels detached Despite the severity of the rollover and final inverted position, no airbags deployed, including side curtain airbags. I was wearing my seatbelt and sustained ongoing nerve damage and pain. Given the rollover nature of the crash and severity of intrusion, I am concerned that the airbag system may have failed to deploy properly.

Please investigate air conditioning leak and create a recall. Dangerous fumes from evaporator core leak behind the dashboard sends out dangerous fumes through the vents. These fumes are extremely dangerous! Can cause driver and passengers to get very sick and light headed even with the climate control turned off! Nissan told me it would cost almost &5,000 to fix it! My car is only 2014 has less than 28,000 miles on it. I am a senior citizen on social security and don’t have that kind of money! I was also said it needed new rear brakes. Air conditioner leak in the Evaporator Core blowing strong fumes inside the car cabin. I had taken my car into Firestone Complete Auto Care to have my air conditioner checked because it was blowing hot air and filling the cabin with a horrible odor that was making me dizzy. They told me that they would put Freon with a dye that would show any leaks. I was told that they did find a leak however they are unable to repair it. I was told and, The repair technician’s report says “ EVAPORATOR CORE LEAK “ DASH REMOVAL WOULD BE REQUIRED”. I was told the repair would take several days so I needed to take my car to the Nissan Dealership for the repair.I truly believe that this leak is a hazard to drivers. I believe that the very strong odor leaking Freon fumes blowing in to the cabin could cause a driver to become ill, dizzy, possibly disoriented, or possibly loose consciousness. Also, without climate control working, unable to defog windows during a heavy rain or snow storm could cause accidents. I hope you will investigate this problem and encourage other Nissan owners to report similar incidents and hopefully issue a recall and repair order for this dangerous problem. Hopefully it will prevent many accidents and injuries.

I have a 2012 Nissan Juke and every one of the door lock actuators has had to be replaced. The problems started early on, but the door locks intermittently fail when using the key fob or external door button. Using the internal door lock button is more likely to work even when the key fob and external button fail. Because the failures are intermittent, it is hard to get this diagnosed and replaced at the dealerships. I have had to take the car to the dealership many times, pay a $200 diagnostic fee and then sometimes they replace the door actuator and sometimes do not. Over the past 4 years I have replaced 3 of 4 door actuators and will be replacing the 4th door actuator now. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs regarding the issue, as it is a known issue, but they refused to assist because the car is no longer under warranty.

Sept 2022 i bought my 2012 Nissan Juke from Jeff Wyler’s Nissan King AutoMall. April 23 the left, lower ball joint/axle (drivers side) broke. Needed fixed. Almost $2,000. I specifically asked them to check right sided ball joint/axle. Oh it’s fine. We checked it out and it’s all good. Less than 3 months later-the right sided axle and ball joint broke. It only took over 6 weeks and 3 different places (discount tires, tire discounters and Jeff Wyler’s dealership) to figure out what was wrong with my vehicle at this time. This time it cost me more (but since jeff wylers mechanics fix things and then jack up the price by $800) it actually cost me $1550 to fix it this time.I could have died. On both occasions and now it feels like the backend of my juke is shaking apart. I’m scared to death to drive my vehicle and I’ve told Jeff Wyler I think they sold me an unsafe vehicle and I am now terrified to drive it. But it’s the only car we have in our family and I can’t afford to buy another one. You have no idea as to how terrified I am to drive my car now; especially with that rear end shaking. omg! I’ve never owned a Nissan before and this is my last I have also asked Jeff Wyler’s dealership-wouldn’t this have been caught on their inspection of selling a used car? Wouldn’t the mechanic in April seen signs/symptoms of stress on the right sided ball joint when they looked at it when they fixed the left side? How do things like this get missed? & put MY LIFE IN DANGER as well as every other person on the roads while I drove with broken axles and ball joints? How can they sell vehicles that are not safe? omg! You cannot comprehend the terrified feeling along with anxiety/nausea and just pure terror of driving a vehicle that shakes still and where I’ve had to fix 2 separate massive breakages in the driveway mechanics or frame (idk. The 2nd time it happened; I thought its a bad tire). I am now more religious and spiritual because of this. I now pray several times daily

I purchased this Nissan 2012 from Hyundai Santa Maria. It has had a problem starting consistently. There are recorded records all over the net. Simply google Nissan Juke Push Button won't start. I have already spent some money trying to figure out the issue. People have been stranded in my car Calling triple A. It drains the batteries which are $250 each. Nissan indicates that the remote keyless entry that stalls in the accesory mode. It has been 10 yrs an people are having to dump their cars. Mine I pay $224 a month an 11k loan for it to sit in my driveway. It is a danger as if the car cannot be started in a hazardous situation then someone will die. The contact stated that Nissan has not offered any assistance so far. The contact was informed by Nissan that their vehicle does not apply to the recall and recommended that they pay for diagnostic testing.

We purchased this vehicle brand new and currently has 24,000 miles and has always been garaged . I just became aware now that there is no functioning burglar alarm and possibly no ignition lock-out similar to the Kia and Hyundai issue . Even though there is a functioning armed indicator light on the dash and there is a horn alert on locking and the button on the key fob alerts , there is no alarm on attempted entry or other assault . I looked the other day to see if the alarm fuse might be blown and there was no fuse in that position and there was only one wire to that position which , of course , makes it non- functional . This vehicle has had the tires vandalized , sabotaged, 3 times and hit-and -run all in our church parking lot while we were inside the building , car locked , armed ? , and no alarm sounded ever . There is nothing in the owner's manual that says the alarm or lock-out is optional . I have owned a 2011 Juke , a 2014 Juke and I was not aware of any alarm problem . I have just contacted nissanUSA and local dealer , no response yet .

My sunroof spontaneously shattered while driving 25 mph and no other cars around me. This seems to be a regular problem known to Nissan but Nissan will take no responsibility for THEIR defective product. $2000 for Nissan to replace.

Problem with EVAP system. Many different codes are showing which means paying an extreme amount of money to diagnose problem and repair. Could be solenoid issue with the turbo part. CANNOT GET MY CAR SMOGGED because of this. The need service light does not go off. I am going to have to spend thousands at the dealer. This should be a recall issue.
NHTSA complaint #11442922 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
I just replaced my transmission and was told by the dealership of the CVT issues. It cost me almost $4k to replace when I picked up my car it was in worse condition and the turbo went. How convienant. Nissan has made my life so difficult and overwhelming and the service I've experienced is gross. I've put more money into this car then it's worth. Oh they also put wood blocks under my engine.

THE CAR KEEPS SHAKING. MY MECHANIC DID SAY THAT NISSAN JUKES HAVE A FAULTY TRANSMISSION. THEY DID THINGS TO MY CAR TO TRY TO FIX IT BUT I STILL FIND IT SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY.

EVERY TWO (2) YEARS ONE OF THE HOSES ON THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM BURSTS DUE TO EXCESSIVE PRESSURE AND SPEWS THE CONTENTS OF THE SYSTEM ALL OVER THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. WHEN THE HOSE BURST, IT CAUSES THE ENGINE TO STUMBLE AND HESITATE AS WELL AS CAUSING SMOKE TO COME FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. WE HAVE HAD THE REPAIRS DONE MULTIPLE TIMES AT THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER

WHILE DRIVING AND THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS OVER 85 DEGREES, THE CAR JUST STOPS ACCELERATING AND LOSES ALL POWER. IT DOESN'T REV OR ACCELERATE WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. NO LIGHTS SHOW, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE DOESN'T INDICATE IT'S OVER HEATING. MULTIPLE MECHANICS CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT SINCE NO CODE IS SHOWN WHEN THEY SCAN THE CAR.
NHTSA complaint #11353261 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
WHEN DRIVING FOR 40 MINUTES OR MORE, GOING 60 MPH OR HIGHER, CAR WILL LOSE SPEED AND EVENTUALLY STOP. NO LIGHTS WILL COME ON AND NO WARNING. GAS PEDAL WILL HIT FLOOR BUT THERE WILL BE NO ACCELERATION. SEEMS LIKE TURNING OFF THE CAR FOR 20 MINUTES OR MORE WILL REBOOT IT, BUT ONLY FOR A SHORT TIME PERIOD. THIS HAPPENS MOSTLY ON HIGHWAYS, NOT ON SMALLER ROADS AS STATED PREVIOUSLY YOU MUST BE DRIVING FOR AT LEAST 40 MINUTES OR MORE GOING AT LEAST 60 MPH OR HIGHER. WENT TO DEALERSHIP AND SAID IT WAS A BAD DRIVE SHIFT BUT UNKNOWN REASON AS TO WHAT CAUSED IT. NEVER HAD PROBLEMS BEFORE THIS.

MY SUNROOF EXPLODED FOR NO REASON. MY CAR WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. THANK GOODNESS I WAS NOT DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I TAKE TO GO TO WORK EVERYDAY. WEATHER TEMPS WERE IDEAL NOT TOO HOT NOR COLD. UNKNOWN ON HOW THIS OCCURRED.
