Vehicle: 2024 Toyota Tundra Double Cab | VIN: [XXX] | Mileage: ~19,200 No crash or injury has occurred. This report concerns an unresolved safety defect. My Tundra intermittently fails to accelerate when the gas pedal is pressed from a slow roll (3-18 mph). The engine revs but the vehicle does not move for 1-2+ seconds before the driveline abruptly engages. This occurs at intersections and during low-speed traffic transitions. It is worse on cold starts. I have experienced sudden unintended deceleration while attempting to enter traffic. This vehicle is covered under Safety Recall 25TA14 / NHTSA 26V320 ("Engine May Stall During Driving"). The TSB remedy was applied at my dealer on June 11, 2026. The remedy did not resolve the condition. I have OBD-II logs proving the defect persists post-remedy. Using Torque Pro at 10 Hz, I captured 55 instrumented hesitation events on June 11 alone -- 18 on the drive to the dealer before the TSB, and 37 after leaving. The worst single measurement shows a 1.7-second delay between pedal input and throttle blade response. My full dataset spans 131 events across multiple drives. Highway driving is completely normal throughout; the defect is exclusively a low-speed tip-in condition. The dealer has been unable to duplicate the condition across five repair order presentations since February 2025. The vehicle spent 105 days in dealer possession with no repair performed. I am reporting this as a failure of the Recall 25TA14 remedy on this specific VIN. Full OBD-II logs, GPS data, timestamped event charts, and all service records are available on request. My vehicle sustained a flat tire after driving. I was able to make it home safely. Vehicle was taken to dealer who found no evidence of a nail. This is the second incident. The first incident occurred while I was driving but thankfully I Was able to pull into a gas station. After research I found out that the tires on the new Toyota tundra have had weak side wall issues causing the tires the explode or wear out prematurely. I have tire warranty through Toyota. I believe Toyota offered this warranty due to their knowledge of the tires being defective. Other issues have been the wheel alignment and premature thread wear which is also a known problem with these vehicles.

NHTSA 26V-038 indicates potential issue with vehicles that may not meet the rear visibility requirements specified in FMVSS No. 111, paragraphs S6.2.1, which may increase the risk of a crash with a person during a backing event.. Recall Status indicates "Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available". It has been over 30 days (1/23/26 to 3/19/26) since this safety recall was filed. This is the 3rd unresolved safety recall to date on this vehicle. This has been an unreasonably long time and Toyota should be compelled to initiate the remedy immediately and provide a detailed explanation as to why it is failing to meet its own code of conduct with respect to product safety and the law.

When initially starting the vehicle, when at a complete stop, the vehicle lags when pressing the accelerator. It’s almost as if the vehicle doesn’t recognize that I’m pressing it at all and I have to reset my foot and start the process over. There is a slight incline hill that has a stop sign that I come to everyday after work and this happens maybe twice a week.

Acceleration pause or lag dead spot from slow like yielding at yield sign or from stop. Not always from stop but consistent from slow rolling from situations like yield sign or merging to traffic. I have encountered several situations where I was afraid I would be hit by another vehicle but lucky enough to make it or the other driver slowed or break. Then when it does go there is a huge jerk like it kicked in and I punched the accelerator. This occurs frequently.

Component: Electrical Harness + Vehicle Shakiness Problem: Car would enter LIMP mode randomly and shut the car down to 18 MPH and can cause accidents anywhere, especially in highway where speed limits are 65+. Car also now starts shaking violently when 48 MPH is reached which is a safety concern. Reproduce: First turn taking into dealer they found issue then “disappeared” and they could not reproduce, went in again and they produced it then said that I tried tampering the engine then got corporate involved and they paid all of it. Now they are ghosting me and will not check out the shakiness. Inspected: Only by Summit Toyota Dealership (Akron Ohio) Warning Lamps: Only appeared after issue happened and disappeared when first issue was solved.

Vehicle consistently exhibits throttle lag from a stop. It is almost like the engine is not responding to the throttle input. This condition is unsafe when pulling into oncoming traffic as the vehicle does not accelerate and then lurches out into traffic as it finally responds to the throttle input

Known issue with these trucks apparently. Occasional throttle lag after stopping at a stop sign, with little response from the gas pedal. On november/december of this month pulling out into a main road with traffic coming, I stepped on the gas and experienced a complete "dead pedal". I stepped on the gas and had 0 response from the truck staying at 5-10 MPH. With cars now coming towards me quickly as I was not moving I floored the gas pedal and had 0 response for another 2-3 seconds until finally the truck jolted at an extreme rate of speed. *Also have a dash cam that recorded in the incident of me flooring it with some vulgar words as cars were coming and the truck was not moving at all.

When in stop and go traffic, almost coming to a complete stop or completely stopped the truck will intermittently have a throttle delay or lag where there is no power for 1-3 seconds followed buy a surge of acceleration. I’ve almost had a couple accidents where in stop and go traffic the truck surged almost Causing me to rear end the vehicle ahead of me. Another time I was stopped at a 2 way unrolled intersection. I pressed on the accelerator and the truck just rolled without power for a couple Seconds until it surged or jolted to acceleration. Otherwise I would’ve been in the middle of the intersection with oncoming traffic approaching. The dealer inspected and was unable to replicate the problem and I have taken it in several times. Repairing dealer confirmed manufacturer has had complaints about the same issue with the same model vehicle. There were no codes or error messages ever displayed. The dealer said they would contact when and if the manufacturer had a remedy or recall available. .

Throttle hesitation from a stop, when pressing the accelerator truck does not move then suddenly will accelerate. This can cause delay when pulling in or out of intersections / traffic making it a safety hazard as the driver is not in control of the vehicle as it is random when it occurs. Multiple other vehicle owners of the same make model of this year and others of the same generation have made the complaint and nothing has been done to solve this issue.

My vehicle is subject to multiple recalls, including a serious safety recall. On November 6, 2025, Toyota issued NHTSA Safety Recall 25V767 stating that the engine may stall during driving, creating a crash risk. As of today, no repair remedy has been made available. Because of this safety risk, I stopped driving the vehicle. The issue has not occurred because I discontinued use out of safety concerns. An earlier recall, NHTSA Recall 25V322 issued on May 15, 2025 regarding reverse lamps becoming inoperable, also remains unresolved with no available remedy. Toyota acknowledged the safety concern by authorizing a rental vehicle. I am concerned about the lack of a repair timeline and the safety of this vehicle.

When I am coming to a stop , but not a complete stop ( such as at a yield sign) the vehicle hesitates when I hit the throttle. It takes a second for the truck to engage. This is very dangerous. I believe that this could potentially cause a collision due to the vehicle not beginning motion when the throttle is pushed.

At a stop, there is a delay when accelerating. It almost feels like it is "thinking" before it starts to go. There are no warning lamps. It is unsafe when pulling out of highway because of the uncertainty of when the vehicle feels like its going to go. Some call it turbolag but it feels more than that.

This sunroof has a rattle that will not stop. I have taken it to a Toyota Dealer twice, and was told this was a known issue and will do what they can to help with the rattle. The sunroof shakes and rattles like glass hitting the tracks, or glass hitting metal when driving down the road. I am afraid one bump will shatter the glass. Will be returning to the dealership for a third time today to see if it can be fixed.

I am the original owner of a brand new 2024 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, and this issue began within the first 15,000 miles of regular dealer-maintained use. At approximately 14,800 miles, I noticed unusual and rapid outer shoulder wear on all four OEM Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 285/65R18 tires. A professional alignment inspection performed by Toyota Carlsbad dealership confirmed that the factory-set front toe angle was significantly out of Toyota’s specification (left front toe: +0.30°, right front: +0.10°, total front toe: +0.39°). This incorrect alignment was present from the factory and caused tire damage before any corrections were made. These settings match exactly what is described in Toyota Limited Service Campaign 24TD01, which applies to 2022–2023 Tundra models. However, my 2024 vehicle is not included, even though the defect and symptoms are identical. The alignment defect was confirmed and corrected by the dealership, but Toyota refused to replace the damaged tires, stating it is not a warrantable condition. However, this wear was directly caused by the misalignment on a new, factory-spec vehicle, maintained per Toyota guidelines. This condition presents a clear safety risk, as premature outer tire wear significantly reduces traction, affects handling, and increases stopping distance—especially in wet or emergency conditions. There were no warning lights or messages, making the condition undetectable until visible tire damage occurred. I filed a formal complaint with Toyota USA, but they declined further assistance. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether Toyota should expand Campaign 24TD01 to include 2024 models with the same alignment-related defect. The tires are available for inspection. I have supporting documentation including alignment reports, photos of tire wear, and communications with Toyota regarding this case #.

Driving down the road, my sunroof exploded. Sun shade was pulled so no injury. Dealer would not diagnose other than saying glass just doesn’t explode so must have been hit by something. I don’t believe that is the case. Easily as likely a manufacturer defect from the factory. I have had the truck for less than a year with 11000 miles

UNKNOWN:Urgent Safety Concern – Speedometer Visibility Issue in 2024 Toyota Tundra To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally raise a significant safety concern regarding the plastic speedometer cover on the 2024 Toyota Tundra. The material used for the speedometer screen is extremely prone to scratching, even under normal driving conditions. Despite using my vehicle exclusively for regular commuting, fine dust and routine cleaning have progressively worsened the visibility of the speedometer display. This issue is not just cosmetic—it is a growing safety hazard. The accumulation of scratches significantly reduces the clarity of speed readings, making it difficult to accurately monitor speed while driving. This can lead to unintended speeding, difficulty maintaining safe driving speeds, and an increased risk of accidents. Given that this problem is occurring under normal use, it is reasonable to assume that other Tundra owners will face similar issues over time, potentially leading to widespread safety concerns. I strongly urge Toyota to investigate this issue immediately and consider a recall or design modification to prevent further degradation of the speedometer visibility. Ensuring that drivers have a clear and unobstructed view of their speed is critical for road safety. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. From what I understand many people are having the same problem with the tundras. Toyota dealership tried to solve the remedy by putting insulation in the rubber seals in the corners it quieted it down a little bit but it’s still beyond what a $75,000 vehicle should sound like while driving 45 miles and above an hour it’s very annoying to hear other cars and traffic in this this vehicle. From the start, I would say after a few months of having my vehicle I had EBS issues and after that I had my vehicle shut down while I was driving and go into limp mode at it said engine reduce power or reduce engine power and it has done that four times This last time it said reduce engine power and all mercy breaking systems failed. There was a knocking in the engine, like there was no oil in it and all collision malfunction sensors breaking systems everything malfunction and vehicle shut off and engine was rattling took to Toyota and they told me that it was a manufacturing issue, but there was no recall my vehicle never even said I was low on oil even though I just had an oil change. It never gave me any alerts. It would just randomly lose power to the engine and shut down but this last time it was really bad.

The screen promo pops up at the most inopportune time, sometimes repeatedly within a short period of time. This is very distracting, as it forces the driver to cancel out the screen to continue reviewing the map. The screen promo pop up has nearly caused this driver to have an accident and miss required turns during travels. Toyota is aware of the programming issue and states it cannot do anything about it.
