On startup, the instrument cluster (Audi Virtual Cockpit) takes an abnormally long time to illuminate. When it does come on, the check engine light and multiple other warning indicators are illuminated. First noticed about a month ago when the panel with the speed indicator wouldn't light up or took a long time to illuminate. I took the car to three dealerships before Audi mentioned that this is a manufacturing issue. The vehicle was taken to Jim Ellis Audi, Marietta, GA (Repair Order 106862U) in August 2026. The technician's diagnostic notes recorded a fault described as "control module for instrument cluster — optical data bus — no communication." The dealer referenced an internal Technical Service Bulletin describing an intermittent hardware defect in the Audi Virtual Cockpit logic module, attributed to a manufacturing/semiconductor issue at the supplier level. Per the TSB, if the instrument cluster's production date is before February 1, 2025, the cluster must be replaced. The dealer quoted $3,093.81 to replace the instrument cluster assembly. I am aware that NHTSA recall 25V201 (Audi internal number 90VC) covers 2021 Q7 vehicles for a related virtual cockpit shutdown defect, remedied with a free software update.

On highway and would go into limp mode, almost got hit and caused danger to other traffic. thought it was fixed and it happened again. went to pull out and make a left hand turn and had no rpms again, limp mode. Almost got t-boned. multiple electric issues. drivers side light. windows not wanting to work at times.

There is a recall for my issue from Audi 90VC. The “remedy” is a software update that a previous dealer and Audi field techs say willl not fix my issue. It’s a hardware issue. The remedy provided for the recall is a facade and doesn’t fix the root cause of the issue. I’m one that actually have the symptoms of the cockpit failed (completely blank screen) but yet Audi is telling me I have to pay to have this safety recall/issue fixed.

I drove on [XXX] from Los Angeles towards San Diego in the morning. I followed the traffic in the middle lane and turned on the ACC, including the lane-keep assist, at the same time. The speed was set at 78 mph, but the traffic was moving faster than that. The distance was set to level 3 for ACC auto brake. After passing a speed limit sign, the head-up display suddenly showed a speed limit warning light, and at the same time, the vehicle suddenly braked and reduced speed to 65 mph. The vehicle behind me almost crashed into me. The ACC didn’t behave the same way as in the past, and I didn’t receive any notice from the dealer or manufacturer about this significant change. This could definitely be a major problem when using ACC in traffic. For example, if the traffic is moving at 80 mph and you set ACC at 80mph, when pass a 55 mph speed limit sign, the vehicle will quickly reduce speed to 55 mph, which could cause a serious problem for the cars behind. During a rain storm, the vehicles rear cross traffic will force the vehicle to stop when it mistakes rain for a person. We were stopped against our will for 3 minutes. Audi corporate worked with our dealership, determined it's a known issue, and determined the vehicle is safe to drive. However, a 1995 Honda Civic will allow us to reverse away from an oncoming train, but ALL the 2023 Audi Q7 potentially will force your death by train. Or in event of being attacked.

On [XXX] we were parking the car in the lot at [XXX] , when the car suddenly accelerated despite my foot being on the brake and crashed into a storefront. The fireman said the airbags deploy code was issues but the airbag never deployed, and the automatic emergency braking did not stop the car. It seemed as though the transmission was switched, but we had not touched the gas. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My car first had a warning “Electrical system: malfunction! Please contact Service.” I made a appointment at my Audi dealership 2 days later, but the next day i got more warnings. “Automatic start/stop system: malfunction!” then my power steering was not working. I decided to drive straight to the service department that afternoon, but never made it. In rush hour traffic on a busy street, my Q7 started beeping every warning - “Electrical system: malfunction! Safely stop vehicle”, “Drive system: malfunction! Stop vehicle safely” and the vehicle decreased speed then abruptly turned off. I was so scared that I would get hit by the traffic zooming around me. It wouldn't go into neutral and my parking brake was engaged blinking. I put on my hazard lights and called 911 for traffic assistance while sitting in my car. I was able to safely exit and after calling Audi, I could get my car into neutral and move it off the busy street with the help of some good Samaritans. I had the car towed to Audi. The service department said they have seen this a handful of times and that it's a problem with the accelerator/generator.

Vehicle displayed a “malfunction” warning followed by a notification the engine RPM would be limited to 1,200 and decelerated rapidly to 1,200 rpm and would not go past it. Vehicle would only drive at about 11-13 mph afterwards. Incident occurred on a downhill 5 minutes after starting driving in the morning. If this had happened on a highway at high speeds it could have been a very dangerous situation

Was driving around 30 MPH. Audi Q7started showing malfunctions on the dashboard, stabilization control malfunction, transmission malfunction, startup system malfunction, backup system malfunction, drivers assist malfunction, tire pressure malfunction, drive system malfunction. The vehicle started to brake on it own, fishtailed and then started to accelerate on its own

2022 AUDI Q7. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE DIFFERENT ISSUES. THE VEHICLE WOULD LUNGE FORWARD WHILE THE BRAKE WAS DEPRESSED. WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY AND MAKING LEFT TURNS THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE TO AN UNSAFE SPEED. ON A FEW OCCASIONS, WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT, THE VEHICLE WOULD ROLL BACKWARDS SEVERAL FEET. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WOULD MAKE ABRUPT STOPS, CAUSING THE SEAT BELTS TO RESTRAIN THE OCCUPANTS. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE CONSUMER NO LONGER OWNS THE VEHICLE.

On 7/4 as I was merging onto the highway I was accelerating to merge onto the main lanes of traffic. I pressed on the accelerator to pickup speed, but when I let off the pedal the vehicle felt like it was continuing to accelerate similar to being on cruise control. I felt like I did not have control of the vehicle. I pressed on the brake pedal and let go to see if it would disengage the acceleration, but it did not. I then continued to press down on the brake pedal and pull over to the emergency lane and park the car. I had total of 6 passengers in vehicle with me, 4 adult and 2 children. After being pulled over I checked to insure the pedal was not stuck on any floor mats, and it was not. I was lucky that there was no traffic on the holiday to avoid any collisions. I carefully resumed to my destination and the vehicle operated normally. I reported to AudiUSA via online chat requesting advice. They suggested I contact a local service center who would charge me to diagnose the vehicle. I have not taken any steps yet given they typically will charge me regardless of determining any issues and identify some other upsell opportunity for service. I'm wondering if anyone else has reported this experience for an Audi Q7 2015 and any actions taken. Also if there is any government programs for safety inspections for unintended acceleration of vehicles. I would have expected Audi or any manufacturer to offer a complimentary inspection given the safety concerns. Thanks.

Flooding due to improper cleaning of ac valve blockage. I took the car to the dealership due to water leakage in the floorboards. They said they fixed the issue but after within a few weeks the water leakage kept pouring now due to that the water leakage has exceeded its point to which it has now put it self into the electronica areas of the car. Now the car will no longer run and it shows multiple issues with the check engine light constantly on consistent water leakage now there’s mold and water leakage in the electronica area and it’s preventing me from using my car my car is no longer able to drive and I feel it’s due to the consistency of them not being able to control the water leak damage the car has caused

MY 2010 AUDI Q7 HAS A SERIOUS BRAKING ISSUE. WHEN THE ENGINE IS STARTED, IF YOU PUT THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE, IT WILL ROLL FORWARD AND THE BRAKE WILL NOT STOP THE ROLLING. YOU MUST WAIT ROUGHLY 1 MINUTE FOR THE VEHICLE TO NOT ROLL. THE TIME IS SHORTER IN THE SUMMER, AND LONGER IN THE WINTER. THE BRAKES DO NOT WORK, AND IT IS AS IF THE COMPUTER HAS A GLITCH. I WILL DEPRESS THE BRAKE, AND THE VEHICLE WILL ROLL FORWARD ABOUT 10 FEET. THIS HAPPENS IN BOTH REVERSE AND FORWARD. MY CONCERN IS THAT ONE COULD START THE CAR, IMMEDIATELY PUT IT INTO GEAR, AND HIT A PENDESTRIAN, CHILD, OR OTHER PROPERTY AND NOT BE ABLE TO STOP THE CAR UNLESS THEY INTUITIVELY KNOW TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL OR PARK, WHICH MOST DRIVERS WILL NOT DO. I AM WILLING TO SHOW THIS TO AN NHTSA REPRESENTATIVE. I BELIEVE THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED AND AUDI NEEDS TO RECALL THESE CARS FOR A PROPER FIX. I CALLED AUDI'S NORTH AMERICAN HOTLINE TO REPORT THIS, AND THE RECEPTIONIST DID NOT PUT ME IN TOUCH WITH A MANAGER OR A SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE. SHE SAID THE CAR NEEDS TO GO TO THE SHOP AND BE REPAIRED. MY AUTO MECHANICS SAY THEY CAN'T REPAIR THIS, AND IT IS A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM. AUDI NORTH AMERICA STAFF SHOULD HAVE TAKEN MY INFORMATION, PASSED IT TO A MANAGER, AND CONTACTED ME, BUT THEY REFUSED TO, SAYING IT WAS A MECHANICAL ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE. I HAVE NO OTHER OPTIONS BUT TO CONTACT NHTSA. I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR SINCE 2014, I FIRST NOTICED THE PROBLEM THEN, AND ADAPTED TO THIS PROBLEM. I SHOULD HAVE TOLD YOU MUCH SOONER THAN NOW. I APOLOGIZE. I KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM, BUT IF IT IS IN ANY OTHER AUDIS, THERE MAY BE PEDESTRIAN INJURIES OR DEATHS.

CAR SELF ACCELERATED WHILE PARKING INTO A SPACE. IT IS A TDI VERSION WHICH HAD BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR A RECALL MODIFICATION TO COMPUTER THAT SAME WEEK. WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT A UNDER 5 MPH THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO A VERY HIGH RPM, JUMPED A CURB AND STRUCK A POLE. 4 PEOPLE EXPERIENCED THE RPM INCREASES (TOW TRUCK DRIVER, AUDI DEALER REP, MY WIFE AND I.

THE DRIVER ASSIST SYSTEM ON THE CAR HAS BEEN COMPLETELY MALFUNCTIONING. IT WILL SLAM ON THE BRAKES WHEN TURNING, AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR A TOTAL OF MORE THAN A MONTH WITH NO RESOLUTION

IN JANUARY 2019, WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON CA 110 IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH, THE AUDI Q7 TDI'S GLOW PLUG INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON, I LOST ACCELERATION AND A FEW MINUTES LATER, MY ENGINE SHUT OFF AND I WAS STUCK IN THE LEFT LANE. I HAD TO CALL 911 AND HAVE CHP STOP ALL TRAFFIC AND PUSH MY CAR TO THE SHOULDER WHILE I AWAITED A TOW TRUCK. AUDI DTLA TOLD ME THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILED AND THAT THERE WAS METAL SHRAPNEL IN MY FUEL LINE AND IT ALL HAD TO BE REPLACED. THEY SAID THIS WAS A DIESEL WARRANTY COVERED ISSUE AND WE DID NOT PAY ANY CHARGE. IN JUNE 2019 WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 10 IN AZ, THE GLOW PLUG LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND WE LOST ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING OVER 60 MPH. WE IMMEDIATELY EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE BEFORE THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN ON US, AS IT DID IN JANUARY. WE WAITED AN HOUR IN 105 DEGREE HEAT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, UNTIL WE WERE TOWED 80 MILES TO AUDI PEORIA, WHO CLAIM THEY CANNOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. THEY TOLD US TO RIDE IN THE CAR ON TOP OF THE TOW TRUCK. WE BELIEVE THERE IS EITHER AN ONGOING HPFP ISSUE, OR PERHAPS SOMETHING RELATED TO THE DIESEL MODIFICATION, OR THAT THIS PARTICULAR CAR IS A LEMON - 2 BREAKDOWNS IN 5 MONTHS, WITHIN 11,500 MILES. THE SCARIEST PART IS THAT WE WERE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH OUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR WHEN THE CAR LOST ACCELERATION. WE WERE LUCKY THAT WE DID NOT GET HURT OR CAUSE ANY ACCIDENTS, BUT THE AUDI Q7 TDI, WHETHER IT'S JUST THIS VEHICLE OR ALL 2014 Q7 TDIS ARE NOT SAFE. AUDI AMERICA, INC. HAS REFUSED TO REPURCHASE THE CAR OR PROVIDE ANY OTHER ASSISTANCE OR REMEDY. WE REFUSE TO RIDE THE CAR BECAUSE WE ARE SCARED OF ANOTHER INCIDENT. WE HAVE WARRANTIES ON THE CAR, BUT THAT ONLY COVERS REPAIRS, IT DOESN'T PREVENT YOU FROM GETTING KILLED ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THEY CANNOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. NO ONE AT AUDI HAS DIAGNOSED THE JUNE 2019 PROBLEM WE EXPERIENCED.

THE VEHICLE HAS PERFORMED POORLY AFTER COMPLETING A US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE MANDATED "FIX" OF DIESEL (3.0 LITER TDI, ENGINE CODE CNRB) EMISSIONS EQUIPMENT RELATED TO VW/AUDI EMISSIONS CHEATING. THERE IS NOW SPORADIC LAG IN ACCELERATION, ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEEDS, OR ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. THERE WERE TIMES WHEN I HAVE PULLED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, AND THE POWER DELIVERY WAS NON-EXISTENT, FOLLOWED BY, AFTER A 1 SECOND DELAY, RAPID OVER ACCELERATION. THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN MANY PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE REDUCTANT METERING MODULE FAILURE THAT HAS CAUSED DANGEROUS DELAYS AND LAGS IN ACCELERATION.

AFTER JUST MERGING TO I695 W FROM TRAVELING SOUTH ON I95 VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AFTER GOING FULL THROTTLE AND WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE BRAKE OVERRIDE. IT APPEARED THAT THE THROTTLE PEDAL WAS SOMEHOW STUCK AND WOULD NOT COME BACK UP ON ITS OWN. THE PEDAL APPEARED TO HAVE GONE PAST ITS 'NORMAL' MOTION RANGE AND HAD SUNK QUITE LOW INTO THE FLOOR. THIS FORCED ME TO HAVE TO STAND WITH FULL FORCE ON THE BRAKE AND UNTO THE SHOULDER WITH A FULL EMERGENCY STOP REQUIRED. WHICH IN TURN CAUSED TO BRAKES TO SMOKE FOR A FEW MINUTES. I HAVE CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS NOT THE FLOOR MATS OR ANY OBJECT IMPEDING THE TRAVEL OF THE PEDAL THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE ISSUE. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF I WAS ABLE TO FORCE-ABLY RETURN THE THROTTLE BACK TO ITS 'NORMAL' POSITION. I HAVE NOT SINCE GONE WOT SINCE THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED.
