The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle hesitated before jolting into the next gear. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle occasionally lost automotive power while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who was able to retrieve DTC: P0452; and recommended that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact had taken the vehicle back to the same mechanic and was advised that the fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

In light of the recalls for other Silverado Fuel Pumps, I believe an investigation should be initiated for vehicles like mine that are part of the same manufacturer but were not part of the original recall. Right when this recall was announced my Silverado which is in excellent condition and has only 73,000 miles on it has a failing fuel pump, communicated by a check engine light and coded for the fuel pump failure. According to my dealer the cost to replace is almost 2,000 dollars. A fuel pump in a heavy duty truck should not fail after only 73000 miles.

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact removed his foot from the accelerator pedal to depress the brake pedal while approaching a stop light, the vehicle stalled. The contact cycled the key several times when the vehicle started. A message displayed on the instrument panel “Evaporative Emission System Pressure System/Switch range/Performance”. The contact stated that he was concerned for safety while driving the vehicle. The contact stated that on a separate occasion while driving at an undisclosed speed, he heard a knocking sound coming from the hood of the vehicle. The contact then used a code reader to diagnose the vehicle and retrieved DTC code: P0451 – (Evaporative Emission System Pressure) and P0304 (Cylinder 4 misfire). The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that a claim would be started after the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

I was driving on along WT Harris highway and I attempted a turn along JW Clay Blvd. when my I pressed the gas and my truck didn't respond. I lost acceleration and it took a dangerous amount of time for me to cross the Highway. There aren't any warning lights or a check engine light on, but my transmission has begun to slip gears. This is after I had over 2k work done at the dealership for other problems I was having. Since no warning lights were visible it came as a complete shock in the middle of traffic when I could not accelerate. I have had my truck inspected by AAMCO Total Car Care and they have confirmed the problems and also the lack of warning lights or codes. After some research online I have found this issue common with Chevrolet Silverados manufactured between 2015-19.

The contact's husband owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact initially took the vehicle to Robideaux Motors CO. (51 W Dalton Ave, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815) where a diagnostic test showed error codes for the fuel injectors. The contact then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where another diagnostic test was performed and the mechanic suggested that all that 8-fuel injectors be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to TSB: N182198000. The vehicle was then taken to another dealer where the contact was notified that the vehicle was not included in the technical service bulletin. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and the contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the dealer's possession. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

i reported my vehicle stalling in the middle of traffic on 2 separated incidents. the dash lights turn off and on and the car stalls. but after having it serviced nothing was found this was in 2019 and 2020. come 2021 my car STALLED AND LOCKED in the middle of an intersection my truck is not more than 5 years old and i have it serviced at the dealership and they never saw this coming. my diagnostic check reads i need to replace 8 fuel injectors $2400.00

THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME ABOUT $1400 FOR THE REPAIRS, NOT HAPPENING. GM HAS ISSUED FREE REPAIRS FOR THESE INJECTORS SINCE THEY'RE A COMMON PROBLEM WITHIN THESE TRUCKS BUT THEY'RE ONLY ALLOWING THE FREE REPAIRS DONE IN 13 STATES AND MY STATE, (IDAHO) IS NOT ONE OF THEM. IT'S A 4 YEAR OLD TRUCK WITH ONLY 43,000 MILES ON IT. I SHOULDN'T HAVE A REPAIR THAT'S OVER $1,000 DOLLARS. THAT DOESN'T SIT RIGHT WITH ME AND IT WOULDN'T SIT RIGHT WITH YOU IF YOU WERE IN MY SHOES. THEY DIAGNOSED AS BAD FUEL INJECTOR. THEY CLAIMED THE ECM WENT BAD CAUSED BY THE BAD FUEL INJECTOR. THEY REPLACED ECM AND FUEL INJECTORS COSTING THOUSANDS. THEY CONVINCED ME I HAD TO PAY FOR A "PLATINUM FUEL INJECTION SERVICE" AFTER IT WAS REPLACED. THIS WAS ANOTHER $300. I WAS PROMISED THE ISSUE WAS FIXED. I WAS TOLD IF CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON FOR SAME ISSUE IT WOULD BE COVERED "UNDER GOOD FAITH"...WELL 2 WEEKS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AFTER HARDLY EVEN USING THE TRUCK... I HAD MY FAMILY IN THE TRUCK FOR A PLANNED FAMILY EVEN AND HAD TO PULL OFF IN THE SWELTERING HEAT TO PAY FOR A TOW TRUCK TO COME GET MY VEHICLE....NOW IT SITS OVER AT THE DEALER AGAIN...THEY WANT ME TO PAY A DIAGNOSTIC AGAIN. AND IT HAS NOT EVEN BEEN LOOKED AT. FOR THE AMOUNT I PAID FOR THIS TRUCK IT IS DANGEROUS UNTRUSTWORTHY AND EMBARRASSING. FUEL INJECTOR OR FUEL PUMP DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. ON TWO (2) DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, MONTHS APART, MY ENGINE HAS LOST POWER AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. BOTH TIMES AT LOW SPEEDS 10 - 15 MPH AND LOW RPMS. THIS HAS NEARLY CAUSED ME TO CRASH INTO ONE VEHICLE AND FOR ANOTHER TO ALMOST HIT ME FROM BEHIND AS MY CAR DIED WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN OFF A BUSY ROAD. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED IN TWICE, BUT THE DEALERSHIP AND GM BOTH SAY UNLESS THEY CAN DUPLICATE THE ISSUE THEY WILL NOT FIX OR REPLACE ANYTHING. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED/REVIEWED. ON TOP OF THIS, THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE VACUUM PUMP FOR THE BRAKES AND DO A SOFTWARE PATCH UPDATE BECAUSE THE BACKUP CAMERA WAS DANGEROUSLY BRIGHT, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. THE CAMERA ISSUE TOOK 2 VISITS TO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS TO GET RESOLVED. GM IS PLAYING THE NUMBERS GAME OF HOPING FOR A FINE INSTEAD OF PAYING TO REPLACE ANY PARTS. ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY ARE DEALING WITH A PR BATTLE ABOUT MAKING CARS OUTSIDE OF THE USA. THEY TOOK THE BAILOUT MONEY AND SCREWED AMERICANS.
