I was pulling into a parking lot at low speed when the car suddenly began accelerating rapidly on its own. Fortunately, when I hit the brakes it stopped without incident. However, if someone had been right in front of me at the time - a pedestrian or car - it could have resulted in a crash. I am certain that I didn't hit the accelerator, nor was it pushed by floor mats or anything like that. It is conceivable that when I was turning, my left palm activated the cruise control in some manner, but that scenario wouldn't explain the acceleration part. And frankly, I don't think that is what happened. I love the vehicle and am not trying to get anything out of it. I am a capable driver with good reflexes and experience. I was able to stop it, but if this were to happen to a new driver or senior driver it could result in a crash. I looked on reddit and many others report exact same issues.
NHTSA complaint #11757918 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
While merging onto the freeway and accelerating, the center touchscreen detached from its mount. The screen has two components: a rear housing fixed to the dash and a glass front panel that sits on top of it — the glass panel came loose on its own; I have never attempted to remove or pry it. The panel remained connected only by internal wiring and hung loose from the dash while the vehicle was in motion. This created three distinct safety hazards: (1) the screen was dangling and at risk of fully detaching, (2) the failure occurred during a high-attention driving maneuver (accelerating while merging), and (3) I was forced to catch the glass panel with one hand to prevent it from falling or shattering, then reattach it while still navigating traffic — as the sole occupant of the vehicle. Heavier-than-usual traffic that day gave me a lower-speed window to manage this; at highway speed under normal conditions, this could have been considerably more dangerous. No warning lights or dashboard messages preceded the failure — this is a hardware/mechanical defect, likely related to the internal mounting clips. Since the initial failure, the screen has detached repeatedly during acceleration, occurring frequently over the following days. In subsequent incidents, my boyfriend was a passenger and able to assist in stabilizing the screen. The screen has since stopped functioning entirely, which independently constitutes a safety issue, as it disables the backup camera display and other driver-assist systems that rely on it. The dealer has not yet been able to reproduce the issue. A service appointment has been scheduled and is pending.

There was a message " Motor coolant over temperature '' popped up on 05/21/2026. Sent the car to Ford dealership for diagnosing it .Found out there was a big hole on the Motor casing . Told them, there was a crash on 04/14/2026. After diagnosing ,they did not know what caused the issue. We resubmitted the case to AAA insurance company for the sub-claim, they told me that the issue was not related to the previous crash . On the ford side, Car warranty did not cover the replacement of motor case and the repair cost. But it is really the quality issue of the part ( the casing of the motor)made by the Ford company.

In the event of a differential pinion shaft failure, the customer may experience a loss of motive power and/or unintended vehicle movement with Park requested if the parking brake is not applied. A loss of motive power or unintended vehicle movement increases the risk of a crash

Spitzer Ford in [XXX] sold me a new 2025 Ford Mustang Mach E with an open recall. I purchased the vehicle on xxx and this recall had been open and active since 1/26/26. 2 days after buying the vehicle xxx the dealership started calling me about an open recall that needed fixed. I was told by the dealership that they could not list the car as sold with Ford until the recall had been adjusted and they were waiting on a $4,000 rebate. If this recall was open since January, known to the dealership, and aware that it was not fixed, how can they sell a brand new vehicle with an open safety recall. The recall was rectified by the dealership on xxxbut illegally sold me the car on xxx with the open recall. I would like somebody to contact the dealership and rectify the situation so they are not selling brand new cars with open safety recalls to other patrons. They openly admitted they couldn't list the car as sold through Ford until the recall was complete. I'm assuming because they sold a new car with an open recall. The sales manager was dismissive and then started telling me how much he was gonna have to put into my trade for them to sell it. NHTSA complaint #11743722 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
On Thursday, May28 I was driving my 2025 Ford Mach-2 on Schrock Rd. in Columbus, Ohio at approximately 3:30 PM when the hood (the "frunk") of the car unexpectedly unlatched and opened, flying up to a vertical position and obscuring my view of traffic. I was driving in the left lane of this road at 40-45 mph. My view of the road was immediately obstructed, but I was able to crouch sufficiently to see enough of the road ahead and the mirrors on each side to navigate to the right lane and then to the side of the road, pull off safely, turn the car off, exit, and close the frunk firmly. I was away from home when this occurred. When I got in the care to drive home, there was a warning that came on, for the first time, that read as follows: FRUNK FAULT DETECTED; SERVICE REQUIRED. There was no advice to avoid driving the car. I checked the hood/frunk to be sure that it was firmly closed, then started for home, avoiding my usual freeway drive at 65mph for a slower trip on local roads. It is a good thing I did, because the risk of a major accident with injury and serious property damage would have been far greater at higher speed. I arrived home without the frunk opening again, called for Ford Roadside Assistance, and arranged to have the car towed to Germain Ford of Columbus, where it still is, awaiting the delivery of a new frunk latch system. The dealer has determined that there is likely a defective sensor in the frunk latch. This is a known issue with the Ford Mach-e, affecting not only the frunk but also sometimes the hatch lid in the rear. This is a serious safety hazard, and a review of reports over several models years from Mach-e owners indicates that I am not alone in having experienced it. At highway speeds a suddenly unlatched frunk/hood would not only open to the vertical, but conceivable also be smashed against the windshield or ripped off the vehicle and become airborne. Ford is aware of the issue, for there is are technical service bulletins covering it.

There’s a known recall. “2021 Mach-E models produced between Feb 24, 2020, and July 18, 2021, are at risk of the glass panels detaching or leaking.” But my car, a 2021 model, isn’t on the list. I just discovered that my headliner is stained and there’s a leak.

The Mustang Mach-E Select has three driving modes. From least to most aggressive in terms of acceleration, they are Whisper, Engage, and Unbridle. When driving in 1-pedal mode where removing your foot from the accelerator causes the car to brake, the strongest application of brakes is in Whisper mode as well. It’s not aggressive, but it will bring the car to a stop over a shorter distance. There is a known and reported problem among drivers, shared often in driver forums like Reddit, where vehicles will change to Engage mode from either Whisper or Unbridle. Over a year ago, I first noticed my car doing this on a downhill exit from a highway to a stoplight. I engaged the brake when I realized I was approaching the stopped car in front of me faster than I should. Over the past 16 months, I’ve experienced this at least twice a month, with no way I’ve been able to discern of predicting when it will happen. I drive the car in the most energy-using and highest energy-recovering mode. I am well aware that the braking might change at any time, but am concerned my wife, who drives the car less than I do, or some other Mustang Mach-E driver will rear-end another vehicle by realizing too late the car is not slowing as expected. I’ve told my dealer, I called Ford, now I’m notifying you in the hopes you can get Ford to issue a software fix. This was something I just noticed again pulling in to my garage solely because I was showing my wife something, and I realized I had the time to report it. Here are a few links of people having this issue. [XXX] [XXX] / [XXX] You’ll see this has been happening with a wide variety of owners for years. Please do something before someone gets injured, if it hasn’t already happened. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
NHTSA complaint #11731266 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
Vehicle experienced immediate loss of motive power while in motion at 45 mph after "Stop Safely Now" alert. This is a repeat power failure. The vehicle was in service for 75+ days (Dec-Feb) for this exact defect. The Ford service center said they replaced the “battery controller” yet the issue recurred. The car previously flagged this alert while in motion 2 times prior (one on the highway going ~65mph and on another major street going roughly ~45 mph). As a Ford Reacquired Vehicle (Buyback), the failure to resolve this catastrophic electrical fault creates an extreme risk of crash and entrapment in traffic, putting myself, my family and the drivers in vicinity at significant safety risk. The car is currently at a different Ford Service Center. They have been able to reproduce the issue and are currently running diagnostics to identify a resolution.

There is an issue with the Mach E where while in a parking lot at low speeds the user may accidentally press the cruise control setting which will initiate the car jolting up to 15 mph (minimum speed for adaptive cruise control system) instantly. This happens when you are going 5 mph or less in a parking lot. Although this is more of a design issue where some users may not deal with this issue, it should be noted that forums have been posted about this same exact issue and it can cause a danger in terms of hitting pedestrians or other vehicles in parking lots or other slow moving traffic. There have been several instances where this has happened to me.

On Tuesday, [XXX], between approximately [XXX] and [XXX] PM EST, I parked my Mustang Mach-E, powered the vehicle off, and exited the car with my wife and child. After unloading groceries and sports equipment, I retrieved the Level 2 charger from the front of my garage and plugged it into the vehicle. I waited for the blue indicator lights to turn solid and blink, confirming charging had started, which typically takes about one minute. I believe the vehicle had been parked and powered off for approximately 10 minutes when I entered the house. Shortly thereafter, I heard an unusual clicking noise and observed the charging cable strike the side of the garage door opening. The vehicle had rolled backward approximately six feet, twisting and pulling the Level 2 charging unit off the joist it was mounted to and damaging the vehicle’s front charging port as the cable stopped the vehicle from rolling into the street. This incident occurred less than one week after the vehicle was returned from service for a “Parking Brake Fault – Service Now” error that was repaired at Losco Ford in Fenton, Michigan. Ford is unable to perform two safety recalls. The first is over the windshield which can lead to its failure while driving. The second is for the glass roof which can cause a failure while driving. The local dealer in Springfield Illinois says they can not do the work and can not identify anyone locally who will do the work. The dealership with the Ford autobody repair shop in the next town over in taylorville Illinois says they can not do the work. I called Ford customer service and they just sent me to the taylorville shop that said they can't do the work. The windshield or roof can come off and no one will do the repair including Fords own autobody shop. Help.

My name is [XXX] , and I am formally reporting an unacceptable and irresponsible delay regarding my Ford Mustang Mach-E (VIN: [XXX] ), serviced at Group 1 Ford of Southwest Houston (formerly Sterling McCall Ford). My vehicle is only 1.5 years old, yet the clear-coat paint has already deteriorated, and the vehicle is also subject to an official Ford recall. I reported both issues to the dealer more than two months ago. Despite multiple calls and follow-ups, the service department continues giving me the same unacceptable excuse: “We cannot take your vehicle because we do not have a loaner car available.” This is completely unreasonable. This is a recall, and refusal to accept my car due to a lack of loaner vehicles is not my responsibility — it is a failure of Ford and the dealer to provide required support. As a result: •My recall remains unresolved •The paint defect continues to worsen •I have no scheduled service date •I have been told to “wait indefinitely” with no solution This level of customer support is unprofessional, unacceptable, and harmful to the Ford brand. My Demands I request immediate corporate intervention: 1.A guaranteed service appointment without any further delay 2.A loaner vehicle or alternative transportation solution provided by Ford 3.Full repair of the recall and the paint clear-coat defect under warranty 4.Written confirmation of Ford’s next steps if the dealer continues refusing to accept my vehicle If this is not resolved immediately, I will escalate the issue to: •NHTSA (for failure to resolve an active recall), •Texas DMV / Consumer Protection, and •Public consumer platforms. I expect a response within 48 hours. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] Email: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Passenger front door stopped opening from the outside. there is no power going to the door at all. There are alert codes appearing on the dashboard "passenger door ajar" "door fault. service required" I have taken it to Ford multiple times over the last 1 year, starting Dec 2024, for a fix and they are unable to find a solution. they attempted replacing physical parts with no success. There were no warning signs before this happened. One day i went to close my front passenger door and it would not open back up. This presented as a safety risk to me when I was being followed by a stranger, with my infant with me. I got in the car and pressed the lock button, but the stranger was still able to open my door. luckily I was able to drive away fast enough. however. because the door was seen as ajar, the car will not lock. this is a major safety issue when I cannot secure my vehicle to keep me and my child safe!

Driving to work as usual and the road is clear just damp from a slight rain. When all the sudden the car just started swerving signaling that the road is wet. But even if wet it shouldn’t swerve like crazy on its own. Causing me to almost crash. It was the most scariest thing that happened to me. I’m taking it to ford dealership tomorrow but not sure how this will be fixed. Now I’m scared to drive on rainy days. I have drove before in rainy days and never had this happen. Today weather when driving wasn’t bad just slight damp on the road and it just started swerving like crazy and I wasn’t driving fast just on a normal street. I was scared to hop on the freeway to work. I skipped work because I was scared to drive.

On 2 occassions in the past 2 week, our Mustang Mach E has accelerated on its own. In the first incident, it was a minor acceleration. It caught me by surprise as I was pulling up to a curb to drop off a passenger. It was easily stopped with brake pressure. In the 2nd incident, the acceleration was greater and more pronounced while pulling into a parking spot, requiring the pressure of both feet to quickly stop it before it went up onto a sidewalk and into a store front. It's never done this before, but certainly could cause an accident and was unsettling. We have not taken it to the dealer because it is random and not replicate-able. There were no warning lamps or error messages at the time. The vehicle was functioning and acting normal otherwise.
