LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION

The 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 with the 6.2L V8 engine began making a rattling or tapping noise at 45 mph. No warning lights appeared on the dashboard. When starting the engine and idling, a similar noise can be heard from the engine. I bought the vehicle used from a dealership one month ago, with 80,000 miles, and the second issue is the complete failure of the blind spot warning system on both mirrors. It was a one-owner vehicle with a clean Carfax. I am scheduled to take the vehicle to the dealership's service department for a full inspection.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING

While towing a trailer on Highway 77 in northern Wisconsin, my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 experienced a sudden engine failure. The dashboard lit up with alerts for the engine, transmission, ABS, and traction control. I safely pulled over in a 55 mph zone with narrow shoulders and heavy truck traffic due to nearby road construction. The truck lost all power, and I had to block the driving lane to transfer the trailer to another vehicle, creating a hazardous situation. There were no prior warnings or issues. The truck had regular service at independent shops, and I had checked and topped off the oil that morning. Lahti Towing & Service recovered the vehicle, changed the oil (no metal shavings), and replaced the camshaft sensor, but the truck still wouldn’t start. They then towed it to Rhinelander GMC, where a broken timing chain was diagnosed, requiring a full engine replacement. The vehicle is currently at Rhinelander GMC and available for inspection. I have photos of the dashboard alerts and data from the GM app documenting the incident.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

My truck has a blue screen that appears randomly on occasion that states service rear view system. This is a major safety concern. And after reading online it is a very common occurrence on 2019-2025 gm pickups. It needs to be recalled and a for sure fix done to prevent from backing into someone or something. I have small children and my biggest fear is running them over while playing in the yard and I rely very much on my rear view/360 camera to make sure this doesn’t happen even after double and triple checking they are no where near danger before stepping in my vehicle.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS

On or around July 12th 2025 at low speed of 2-4 mph my rear end locked up sending everyone in the vehicle hard stop forward. The vehicle wouldn't disengage leaving me no choice but to have it towed for the second time 1st time happened exactly the same about month and a half prior. Gmc service department department claims they couldn't find anything wrong after it sat for two days in there lot after having it towed they were closed weekends and looked at it that Monday morning finding no signs of anything wrong. After picking up my vehicle I strongly feel like if at higher speeds or even environment this issue will endanger myself passengers and bystanders. I need help with resolving this safety issues asap please. Gmc hasn't been much help service department nor Gm support options.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING

I was driving down the road, got a quick message. It said something about lean and to pull over (on dashboard). And by the next stop light the engine stopped. The truck no longer turned on. It did put my life in danger because it left me stranded in between two lanes. The truck was inspected by one of my mechanic friends who owns a shop. He let me know my engine is seized.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

On a normal trip to work the dash light lit up then gave me these warnings. Service ESC, Service Trailer brake, Brake system Failure-62 mph top speed, steering assist reduced. Dashboard lights that were on, ABS Check Engine, Brake, Traction Control. When I tried to slow down the power assist was gone on the brakes, I had a little braking when I pushed the pedal all the way to the floor as hard as i could, when I went to turn the wheel was hard to turn. I have had no issues like this before. After I managed to stop and turn off then on the vehicle everything came back expect for a warning to service the trailer brakes and the check engine light was still on. It all cleared after a few more restarts. I got the truck to the dealer 4 days later and they said it was the battery going bad even though I was not having any problem starting the vehicle, I had them replace the battery. I am unsure if the problem is resolved, time will tell. What I am sure of is if my daughter had been driving the truck, she would not have had the strength to get the brakes to work or turn the wheel, she would have had a accident for sure.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS

At around 28,000 miles the truck started having intermittent electrical issues. The head unit will show a blue screen. Safty systems will automatically disable. Camera system failures. Even though the truck is a 2019 model it only has around 31,000 miles on it and is now out of warranty and I can’t afford to have the dealership chase electric issues. GMC should be ashamed of putting out such an unreliable vehicle.

Rear window leaks as also reported by GM when truck was manufactured (GM Service Bulletin 18-NA-383). Water from leaking rear window gets into the electronics used for safety systems as well as rear camera and eventually disables safety systems.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

I put my truck in break. Service mode to replace the brake pads. I began changing the pads And could not get the piston to retract all the way, I hooked uon a c clamp to retract the piston. In the event i moved the rotor to another spot and the brake service mode turned off and the piston extended. My fingers nearly got caught in the caliper. When put in brake service mode, it should not automatically extend when turning the rotor. Someone will get hurt bad at some point in a swrvice garage or at home when wirking on brakes.

Were driving and vehicle repeatedly suddenly braked in the middle of interstate or highway without any warning. We are so traumatized, and scared of this vehicle. It has happened before. Dealership says there is nothing they can do. This could have caused our life. GMC should be held accountable.

I were driving at low speed and all 4 wheels locked causing the vehicle to suddenly stop without notice. I almost got rear ended. I had to put vehicle in park and turn off and turn back on to get it to move. Again it did the same thing stoping with brakes locking suddenly, almost causing an accident in middle of road. There was no warning at all.
