The rear glass/rear windshield of my parked car unexpectedly broke after using the rear defrost on XXX I am concerned about a possible defect involving the rear glass and/or rear defroster. Curry Honda, a Honda-authorized dealer, inspected the vehicle and confirmed the glass failure, but the underlying cause was never determined. Curry Honda’s written documentation recommended replacing the rear glass and specifically stated that the rear defroster function should be checked. However, Sarah at Curry Honda later told me that the rear defroster would NOT be tested. I have an audio recording of that conversation. This is the primary reason for my complaint: I specifically wanted the rear defroster evaluated as a possible contributing factor, but Sarah did not want to have the rear defroster function tested, leaving a potential cause of the unexpected glass failure uninvestigated. The glass broke without warning on XXX There were no warning lights or messages beforehand. The unexpected glass failure created a potential safety concern because it affects rear visibility and vehicle safety. Curry Honda told me it did not know how the glass broke and that there would not be a diagnostic report for this type of concern. American Honda later instructed me to obtain a diagnosis from a Honda-authorized dealer, but Curry Honda did not provide the requested diagnostic report. Curry Honda’s documented repair amount was $1,653.66 plus tax. I was later told that a $2,200 figure was being used regarding American Honda’s goodwill assistance. I was NOT directly given a $2,200 written quote; [XXX] and Sarah told me that figure, and I have recordings of those conversations. I am not claiming the rear defroster caused the glass to break. I am reporting that the suspected component was specifically identified for testing by the dealership, but Sarah stated it would not be tested. An independent mechanic was contacted and diagnosed the vehicle with a misaligned driver’s side window. The window was replaced. The dealer was not contacted. My front windshield broke from a heat stress crack from the top seal above the ADAS camera/driver assist module and runs down alongside the camera housing and then cracked all the way in front of driver's side above my steering wheel. The car was not moving and was just sitting in my carport. I have had problems with the ADAD system not functioning properly since I bought the car in 2022 from heat related issues.

I got in my car and started driving home from work then I heard something just shatter and when I looked back my rear windshield was completely shattered. I pick up my nieces and nephews and drive other peoples children to their appointments. This could have caused a serious injury should I have experienced it during a time I have little kids in my backseat. I am taking it to Gardena Honda first thing in the morning for an inspection. I have seen other people report this issue on 2023-2025 Hondas and after comparing my windshield to theirs its literally the same. There were no warning signs that flashed it was so crazy.

My front windshield developed a crack starting at the base near the wipers, and nothing hit it or caused any obvious damage. It started off really small but has gradually gotten bigger over time. The car is available if anyone needs to inspect it. The crack is a safety concern because it can affect visibility, especially with glare from sunlight or headlights at night, and if it keeps spreading it could weaken the windshield. The issue hasn’t been reproduced since it just seemed to happen on its own, but it’s easy to see and confirm by looking at it. It hasn’t been inspected yet by the manufacturer, police, or insurance (you can adjust this if needed), and there were no warning lights or signs before it showed up. It just appeared one day and has been spreading since.

Had my car parked in my house garage. Drove out of garage to go to work. While waiting on garage to close, heard an explosion and realized my back windshield shattered. When I got out to inspect and take pictures, it shattered even more. Took to dealership. Waiting to hear back from Honda corporate. Tired of issues with this car.

Drove to work on Friday morning 12/12/25. Parked my car in my work parking lot. At 5pm when I returned to my car, when I entered my car and closed the door, I heard a shattering noise, I looked around and in my rearview mirror I saw a hole right through the middle of my rear window. I exited my car and when I closed the door, the rest of the window finished shattering and fell in. I found out there was a soft recall regarding the rear window and the adhesive used. I went to the Yonkers service center on 50 Yonkers Ave here in Westchester County on Saturday 12/13/25,spoke with a rep who was very courteous, explained the recall I found on-line regarding rear window recall and set up an appointment for that Monday 12/15/25. Dropped off car to service center, received a call the next day from the rep saying they cannot do anything about it because the Technician found nothing wrong. I explained it was a manufacturers defect and it should be covered. Then called the dealer and I explained the situation, called me back and gave me the same explanation. I then reached out to the corporate offices and they said I would have to pay out of pocket. I find this very unacceptable.

Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle warned the driver of the vehicle proximity to another vehicle, or of driving out of the intended lane erroneously. The contact stated that while attempting to roll down the passenger’s side window, the window failed to respond as intended. The vehicle was taken to an unknown local dealer on several occasions and was diagnosed with an engine oil leak, debris in the window module, and the battery needed to be replaced. The rear window glass suddenly broke with a huge sound. The glass brokes to pieces completely. No warning light was activated. It happened 10 minutes ago. I haven't reported to my insurance or dealer. I used defrost function. Before this accident happened, I smelled a burning flavor a little. Also, the range dropped almost 10 miles over a 2 mile distance. I am not sure if those phenomena relate or not.

The back rearview windshield shattered. I got into my parked car in the morning, turned it on and heard a pop sound. I looked back and saw a hole in the windshield, the glass fell inside the truck in pieces. I looked around to see if something dropped to crack it, but there was nothing. The pieces of the windshield kept falling in the trunk and the hole got bigger as time went on.

The driver side wiper does not spray fluid through the top of the blade only the nozzles at the bottom spray deicer/fluid. On highway driving especially in frost freeze conditions this limits the drivers ability to see forward as road dirt and frost/ice are not able to be removed. That the fluid only comes out the bottom means that the part of the windshield the driver needs to see out of is not completely cleaned or de-iced limiting specifically the drivers vision to the front. This has caused multiple near misses on highway and around town driving especially at night.

I purchased my car in December 26, 2024 brand new. in January 2025 I had a rock hit my windshield which caused a crack. I had it replaced. Then in June and another rock hit my windshield, which caused another crack, and that windshield was replaced again on August 6, 2025. Within 3 weeks of having it replaced a small piece of gravel hit the windshield causing another crack which I have not replaced yet. Since the last crack, I now have an additional crack cause by another small piece of gravel. I contacted the Honda dealer to which they said "sorry you just have bad luck" I have also filed a complaint with Honda customer service. I've done a little digging, and this seems to be a trend with the new 2025 HR-V body style. I'm concerned that if the windshield is this easy to break with small gravel what would happen if something larger was to hit the windshield? it could potentially lead to serious injury. In my uploaded pictures I have photos of current damage, and my first invoice from January. if needed I can obtain the invoice from the second repair in August. the pictures I've uploaded happened after the August 6th 2025 repair.

Two cracked have mysteriously appeared on my FRONT windshield. My vehicle was not involved in any accidents, nor have it been hit by any objects. The cracks are not on the outside, if you feel the windshield it is from the INSIDE, which indicates a factory defect since I'm the only driver of this vehicle, I can state this with 100% certainty. I purchased this vehicle brand new. It's barely one year since I've purchased it. 2024 Honda HR-V. I've seen 3 other Honda HR-V in my neighborhood with similar FRONT windshield cracks in the same area as mines. Their vehicles are similar models, except one is a sport HR-V. This is not a coincidence.
