2024 Hyundai Tucson SEL Convenience Hybrid Recall:Hyundai Campaign 290/NHSTA 23V-187 (subsequent Tucson tow harness fire recalls) My vehicle was brought into an authorized Hyundai dealership to address the safety hazard associated with the accessory tow hitch wiring harness recall. The dealership resolved the immediate fire hazard by completely disconnecting and removing the functional trailer wiring harness from my vehicle. My physical repair invoice explicitly states: "repair complete-disconnected the positive connector and removed OEM harness from the vehicle, installing a dust cap." No replacement harness was installed. Because this physical removal occurred, Hyundai's internal corporate warranty system has offically marked the safety recall as "Closed" and completed for my VIN. However, the manufacturer has failed to provide a safe, functional remedy to restore the vehicle's advertised and purchased towing utility. When checking with Hyundai Customer Care, I am told the redesigned waterproof harness (Part #CWF61-AU100) cannot be ordered or allocated to my vehicle because the computer systems views the safety risk as resolved and the recall closed. I called Findlay Hyundai in St. George to see if they had the part number CWF61-AU100, he said he did not but Ontario had some & could get the part in a few days. The manufacturer's remedy is inadequate. By permanently removing a functional utility to satisfy a safety metric, without providing a safe, operating replacement part. Hyundai has effectively disabled the towing capabilities of my vehicle without offering a true remedy. I am requesting that NHSTA compel Hyundai to reopen or provide a distinct parts-allocation path for vehicles that had their wiring harness removed rather than replaced. I WAS DRIVING DURING DAYLIGHT AND THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY BECAME BARELY VISIBLE, AND THEN ALTERNATED BETWEEN VISIBLE AND BARELY VISIBLE SEVERAL TIMES. IF IT WERE NIGHTTIME THE DISPLAY WOULD BE UNREADABLE AND I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SEE MY SPEED OR OTHER IMPORTANT INDICATORS WHICH WOULD PUT ME AND OTHER DRIVERS AT RISK.

Twice within 3 days the car drove when was in electronic park. FIRST August 1 2026 instance got in car parked in a lot. Started it (foot on brake, push start). Spent ≈ 15 min checking iPad. When car in front of me backed out of parking space, car dinged, lit up that car in front is leaving like it we were at a stop sign. Then started to move forward. I quickly braked. I may have touched the brake while sitting but never touched the shift. • SECOND instance August 3 2026 driving (MY Mode) with Smart Cruise and Lane Assist. Parked in daughter’s driveway. Foot on brake. Absolutely pushed Electronic P for park. It was my intention to leave car on for AC while dropping a bag on their porch. I did touch brake again while gathering things to get out - but did not touch shift. While I was turned sideways it drove forward into the garage door. No the foot was not on accelerator. It was on floor as I was leaning over. For reference, a few weeks ago the front camera’s sudden stop recall was done.

I own a 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited AWD with approximately 15,000 miles. While driving, I heard a loud, sudden noise and then discovered that the glass panel above the windshield, below the moonroof, had shattered/damaged. The incident occurred at a slight bump in the road, but not a pothole. I did not observe any large road debris, object, or vehicle ahead of me that appeared to cause an impact, and I saw no obvious evidence of a specific impact event. The damaged area allows water to enter the vehicle, making it unsafe and impractical to drive in rain or other inclement weather. There is also concern about loose glass debris. The dealership and Hyundai denied warranty coverage, stating the damage was impact-related. An independent automotive glass shop inspected the vehicle and provided a written assessment stating that the damage cannot be conclusively attributed to a rock or other road impact and could be consistent with a manufacturing defect. The vehicle has been inspected by both the dealer/manufacturer and an independent glass service provider. Hyundai corporate has also been contacted, and a corporate case manager was involved. There were no warning lamps or warning messages before the failure. The first symptom was the sudden loud noise while driving, followed by discovery of the damage to the glass panel above the windshield.

On XXX we were driving from [XXX] to [XXX]. Going through the [XXX] mountains on [XXX]. At an elevation of about 6,000 ft. temperature was about 85, speed about 55 mph the window in the back seat (behind the driver) imploded with a huge bang (sounded like a bomb went off). Glass was all over the back seat. I thought someone had shot at our car. I was with a retired CHP and he confirmed no bullets or rocks - this window just spontaneously exploded sending glass shards like shrapnel in the car! Besides the noise of the explosion, which could have caused the driver to veer off the road, if anyone had been in the back seat they could have been killed or seriously wounded from the flying shrapnel. In talking with other people, I found out NHTSA has an open engineering analysis (DP23001) investigation regarding this issue. This is very serious and should NOT be allowed to happen. Appears there is defective glass in some Hyundai Tucson's - not sure if the pressure of going over the mountains had anything to do with it or the design of the car but I'm leery of driving this car now! Thank you for your time and hopefully the manufacturer will correct this issue ASAP or before someone dies. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I own a 2024 Hyundai Tucson hybrid SEL with a genuine Hyundai trailer hitch & trailer wiring harness that were installed by a Hyundai dealer. My vehicle was included in Recall P90. As part of the recall, the dealer disconnected & removed the wiring harness because Hyundai did not have an approved replacement available. As a result of the recall, my trailer lights no longer function. I can no longer legally or safely tow my boat trailer because the trailer has no brake lights, turn signals, or running lights. Before the recall, the trailer wiring worked properly. I contacted Hyundai Customer Care & requested an approved replacement wiring solution at no cost. I explained that the recall removed a factory-approved, dealer installed towing function but did not provide a remedy that restores the vehicle's towing capability. Hyundai advised me that no replacement remedy is currently available & would not escalate my concern. I believe this is an unreasonable lack of remedy for a safety recall. The recall has left my vehicle unable to safely perform the towing function for which it was equipped. I am requesting that Hyundai provide an approved replacement trailer wiring solution that fully restores the original towing capability at no cost to owners. No repair date is given for this repair. I was driving using adaptive cruise control, and my entire instrument cluster went blank. Everything, I couldn't see my speed, if cruise control was on, the HUD display everything went dark then came back on in about 10-15 seconds. This was very concerning. I had no way to know if the safety systems like adaptive cruise control, forward crash section etc were still working. Lost my GPS directions, couldn't tell my speed This was extremely dangerous. This needs to be fixed asap.

My 2025 Mazda CX-5 has an intermittent defect that causes Android phones connected to Android Auto through the vehicle's USB-C port to unexpectedly perform a complete device reboot while the vehicle is being driven. The problem began in August 2025 after I purchased a Google Pixel 9. I initially believed the phone was defective and spent several months troubleshooting the phone. After the same problem occurred with my son's Google Pixel 10, I determined the issue was not phone-specific. I reported the problem to Mastria Mazda in March/April 2026 and returned again in May 2026. I opened a case with Mazda Customer Experience on June 4, 2026. The vehicle software has been updated, but the defect remains. The failure is random. It does not occur immediately after connecting the phone and is not associated with navigation, music, phone calls, messaging, or trip duration. It can occur once during a trip or multiple times during the same trip. The defect has been reproduced with two different phones (Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 10) using multiple USB-C cables. The same phones were then tested using wired Android Auto in another 2025 Mazda CX-5 (loaner driven for one week), a Mazda3, a Mazda CX-90, and a Tesla. The problem did not occur in any of those vehicles. My Pixel 9 also works normally in my vehicle when using wireless Android Auto. The reboots occur only through the wired USB-C Android Auto connection in my vehicle. This creates a safety hazard because Android Auto immediately disconnects, causing the sudden loss of navigation, the head-up display directions, hands-free calling, and voice commands while driving. The defect has occurred multiple times during Boston morning rush-hour traffic and while navigating a major highway interchange under construction where lane assignments had been temporarily changed. The unexpected loss of navigation and driver information at these critical moments creates a significant driver distraction and potential safety risk.

An alarm keeps going off warning the driver to take a break. The vehicle has an infrared sensor watching your eyes. If you look right or left it keeps sounding an alarm for you to take a break. It has gone off as many as eleven times in fifty miles even though I NEVER cross the center line or the fog line. I’m not doing anything but paying attention to my driving which includes looking right and left for cross traffic, pedestrians, animals, etc. I’ve driven over a million miles and have never been charged with an accident, have a clean license, and take a safe driving course every three years. On 6/2/26 a young child on an electric bike pulled right out in front of me and I nearly hit him. He was about five years old and didn’t look. I was watching to my left and saw him coming and stopped in time. This device/warning warns against looking for anything to either side of the road. I’m a retired automotive quality engineer and this feature is the antithesis of safety. I can’t believe it ever passed a DFMEA design review. The dealer says it can’t be shut off. There’s already alerts/alarms to warn against leaving your driving lane. This serves no useful purpose and poses a hazard to defensive driving.

Navigation screen flickers and goes black and then reboots and comes back on while driving. Extremely distracting and dangerous. Dealer kept car for ten days and replaced the screen but problem persists. Happens almost every time I drive. Might be triggered by uneven road surface but difficult to tell. Much online chatter about the issue. Dealer acted like they’d never heard of it before.

This is an ongoing issue. The panel lights and indicators associated with climate control setting module (in front of/below) the dash are very dim. In normal to bright daylight it can be impossible to see. As a result drivers have to take their eyes off the road and bend down a little to see what the climate control lettings are set on or whether a selection has been set properly. This has obvious potential safety issues. Hyundai tell customers the modules are performing normally, but there are many, many complaints on the web. These modules need to be recalled and replaced.

2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Hillsboro, OR

The issue involves the vehicle’s drivetrain and hybrid/electronic control system, where the car suddenly jerked forward in stop-and-go traffic on the freeway as if it had been struck from behind. Immediately following this event, the vehicle would not accelerate beyond approximately 40 mph, indicating a loss of normal power. This created a significant safety risk, as the sudden jerking could have led to a rear-end collision, and the inability to accelerate properly made it difficult to keep up with traffic on the freeway. I was barely able to safely pull off the freeway while surrounding traffic continued at higher speeds, increasing the risk to myself and other drivers. The problem appeared to resolve after turning the vehicle off and then back on; however, this raises concern about intermittent failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealership for inspection, but they were unable to reproduce or identify the issue. The vehicle remains available for inspection upon request. The vehicle has been inspected by a dealer but not by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Prior to the failure, there were no warning lights, messages, or noticeable symptoms indicating an issue. Based on similar reported experiences, this event may be consistent with a “limp mode” condition or a malfunction in the transition between the electric motor and gasoline engine, potentially involving the transmission or hybrid control system.

On 4/3/2026 heading to [XXX] on I 95 (outside of [XXX] ) traveling with traffic (3-4 lanes) I was in the middle lane going approx 74mph when on 5 separate but in close approximation (estimated within 20 mi) times, my car which was on cruise control, suddenly threw up warnings to pull over, shook my steering wheel, yanked my car toward the left lane (with traffic flowing the same way as I was) and suddenly decreased my speed to 64 mph before I could regain control! It was a beautiful, sunny day with no precipitation. Cars were swerving and beeping . My family was in the car. I stopped all cruise control and drove the remaining five hours to my destination scared out of my mind. I called local dealership, country club Chevy, dodge, jeep, Hyundai etc. at 607432-9300 and told Gavin what had occurred. I was unable to get into a dealership while I was in [XXX] for the brief time I was there. On my way home I tried cruise control on I 95 in the right hand lane all the way over so that no traffic could be on my right side. It was a beautiful day. It happened again to me, the warning lights, the decrease and speed the yank to the right the shaking steering wheel and the sudden breaking while I was in the state of [XXX] . I turned off cruise control again. I didn’t have a problem after that. When I I returned home, , I took the car in to be looked at at the dealership . They said they couldn’t find anything wrong. I contacted Hyundai motor corp at 800-523-4030. Case number 42576997 was assigned. I was put to Hyundai finance. No resolution. I contacted Hyundai Corp Office at 714-410-4382 and spoke with Mohammed. To date, as of May 7 there has been no resolution as the dealership doesn’t have access to drive this car on a 4 Lane Rd. as we live in a real area. I do not feel safe driving this car. It is going to kill someone else on the road or someone in my family. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My 2024 Hyundai Tucson hybrid has been returned to the dealership on 3/20/26 and 4/10/26 to replace failed rear shocks and are now scheduled for replacement on 4/27/26 under warranty. I was told by Matthews Hyundai dealership that the part may have been defective the first time but after having the shocks fail again it is clearly a defect in design. The bouncing and ride is dangerous. Rear shock failure is a major safety hazard because it severely compromises vehicle stability, drastically reducing control during braking, cornering, and emergency maneuvers. It leads to increased braking distances, excessive rear-end bouncing, poor handling, and accelerated wear on other suspension components, significantly increasing the risk of accidents. I do not want to have an accident due to a faulty part.
